I’m patient, attentive, and dependable, and I take the time to understand each dog’s personality and routine. I have experice also with baby and senior dogs, oas one of my was very sick and I needs to trear and give extra attention to. I'm available for boarding on weekdays and weekends. My work schedule doesn't interfere with anything, as I coordinate my schedules, and am for the most part at home all day. I have a big, large fenced backyard where they can run freely and play. Also a nice large deck for sunbathing. Plus any routine they may have

About: I have been a high school teacher for 28 years. I dog-sit for my friends and sister all the time, and even for my friend's cat sometimes too! I also used to dog-sit for my parents' dog for 2-3 months while they were away over the winters, but unfortunately Mollie passed away a few years ago. She was 17 and we spoiled her! I grew up with dogs (poodles) and I love animals so I thought this would be a fun way to earn extra money! I really enjoy dog sitting, and have been doing this for about 11 years now and I look forward to meeting your pup! I work full time and am away from my home from 7:15-3:30 during the week. Weekends I am either home or in and out throughout the day, but have plenty of time in the evenings or on the weekends to go for long walks with the dog or even a hike if they are up for it! I usually take the dogs for about 3-4 walks a day, usually at least one longer walk! I also can relax and sit on the couch with the dog too, and give lots of belly rubs, of course!
About: Trusted Veteran • Farm-Raised Animal Lover • Dependable Dog Walker Growing up on a farm in North Dakota gave me hands-on experience caring for animals from an early age. As a dog owner and lifelong animal lover, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive interactions. My military background strengthened my reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to following instructions, ensuring every pet receives safe, dependable care. Whether it's an energetic walk, playtime, or providing companionship, I treat every dog as if they were my own and prioritize their happiness, safety, and well-being. I recently retired from the Army, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to care for your pets. I'm available on weekdays, evenings, and most weekends, allowing me to accommodate regular walks, drop-in visits, and last-minute requests whenever possible. When caring for pets in their home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow each owner's instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, fresh water, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and potty breaks. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while respecting their individual personalities and comfort levels. I will provide regular updates with photos, and treat every home and pet with the same care and respect as my own.
About: Recently honorably discharged Army medic. Have had large dogs all my life. Worked at a humane society for many years. I absolutely love all dogs and they are my passion! I am looking to earn some extra income while going to school. Thanks for checking out my profile! I attend school online so my schedule is very flexible. I am available during the week, the weekend, holidays, very early or very late at night! I have two large dogs and an unfenced yard. They are allowed on the furniture. Neither are crated. They have lots of toys and get lots of attention.
“Jackie is awesome! She is extremely caring and was very responsive. Our dog is very shy and anxious, but Jackie instantly earned her trust. 10/10 would recommend Jackie!”

“Olivia was great caring for our cat Otis while we were away. She gave us detailed updates, great photos, and was always very responsive. Will definitely reach out again when we need a cat sitter!”

“Lucy was fantastic with my 3 dogs! I had her do a 30 min check-in mid day while I was at work, and she kept in touch with me while at the house, played with my kiddos and sent me pictures. The dogs loooove her! I will definitely book more time with Lucy for my dogs!”

About: My lifelong love for animals began growing up visiting farms, which taught me to be patient, gentle, and attentive to animal’s needs. I worked at an animal hospital for over a year, assisting veterinarians with administering medications to dogs and cats. I also handled the boarding and daily care of dogs, cats, birds, turtles, and geckos. I was trained to properly feed, monitor, bathe, and exercise over 100 pets per day. This hands-on medical and boarding experience allows me to provide a higher level of care, safety. I adore senior doggies and cats and the puppies and kittens are the funniest! I maintain a consistent weekly schedule that allows me to provide reliable and attentive pet care. I am available in the evenings on Mondays and Wednesdays after 7 PM, have midday and evening availability on Tuesdays, and can provide care in the mornings and evenings on Thursdays and Fridays. I am fully available on weekends, which allows for extended care, drop-ins, and flexible scheduling. When I care for pets in a client’s home, my main focus is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. My experience working in an animal hospital taught me how to carefully follow routines, notice small changes in behavior, and handle pets gently in their own space. I treat every home with respect and stick to each pet’s usual schedule and owners requests, whether that’s feeding, medications, litter care, or walks. I’m trained to give medications and I always take my time to make sure everything is done correctly and calmly. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet behind, so I make sure to send updates, photos, and notes after visits. My goal is to keep pets relaxed and happy while giving pet parents peace of mind, knowing their furry family member is in caring hands.

About: I’ve been caring for animals since middle school, and over the past 6 years neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, and play with their pets. I’m patient with shy or anxious dogs, high-energy pups, and senior dogs/dogs on medication. I send photo and video updates and follow each dog’s routine closely, so you can relax knowing they’re treated like family. As a commuter student at GMU, my schedule is structured and predictable, and I have flexible blocks between classes and on day at home and weekends. I plan my day around the dogs in my care, so they get regular walks, meals, and attention, and I can respond to messages quickly and accommodate last-minute requests. Your dog’s safety comes first. I will follow your instructions on feeding, medication, and routine, keep dogs leashed on walks, and never leave them unsupervised in unsafe areas. I’m happy to do a meet-and-greet beforehand and send updates throughout my time with your pooch ;)

Jackie was a delight to work with, as always! When I had forgotten to confirm an important booking detail, Jackie reached out to proactively ensure she had all the necessary information and went above and beyond to make sure our cat got the care she needed on time. She also sends the sweetest photos, and our cat adores her.

Daphne always goes above and beyond caring for my two cats during her visits. This time, she was an absolute saint. One of my cats needed two to three meds for an illness and was stressed out from the process. Daphne administered the meds twice a day, sent extra details, photos, and videos, and responded in real time to my questions. I am so grateful for the care she provided for my cats while I was away. She put my cats and me at ease during a stressful illness. I couldn’t imagine better care.

Marcela is a reliable, professional, and caring pet sitter. At a difficult time, when our cat was adjusting after losing our other cat, Marcela gave extra attention and lots of cuddles. The daily updates and photos gave us peace of mind. We appreciated the helpful tips she shared about our cat fast eating. We would gladly recommend Marcela to anyone looking for a trustworthy cat sitter.
We continue to use Viviana for Murphy and couldn’t recommend her more! She is always so responsive, accommodating, and available whenever we need her, which gives us so much peace of mind. It’s clear how much she genuinely cares about Murphy, and we always know she’s in great hands with her. Murphy loves staying with Viviana, and we’re so grateful to have found someone we trust so much to care for her. We’ll continue to book with her whenever we can!

Fabiana was fantastic! She was able to help me out on short notice and made the entire process incredibly easy. She communicated well, followed my instructions, and took great care of Bandit despite it being their first time meeting. She even took him on a walk, got some playtime in, and sent pictures and updates afterward. I really appreciated her flexibility and attention to detail. I’ll definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Wyatt was so helpful for a last minute booking we needed to take care of our cat Otis. He was quick to respond, took extra good care of our cat, and even offered to groom him a bit! Was obvious he loves pets and I will definitely reach out to him again if we ever need another sitter in the future.

Leaving my dogs behind while out of town for six days was a first for me, so I was naturally pretty nervous going into the process. I interviewed several people before meeting Velkin in person. My girlfriend and I hosted her for a meet and greet, and her genuine, welcoming presence stood out immediately. There was nothing fake or performative about her. She has the kind of ground-level authenticity that puts you at ease right away. My Chihuahuas took to her immediately as well, which said everything. If you know anything about Chihuahuas, they do not warm up to strangers quickly, if at all. Hiring her was an easy decision, and she did not disappoint. She came by twice a day to handle feeding, water, outdoor time, and spending quality time with them. Beyond basic care, she treated my dogs like her own. I received regular photos and detailed updates after her visits, giving me complete peace of mind. I also felt totally comfortable giving her unfettered access to my home while I was away. On top of everything, she was remarkably flexible. When I came home a day early, she was gracious enough to modify the booking and remove that final day. Since she had reserved that slot for me, it would have been completely fair for her to charge for the full six days, so that gesture was unexpected and extremely kind. Velkin did a phenomenal job, and I have zero regrets about hiring her. She provides world class service, and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. I will definitely reach out to her again the next time I travel. Thanks again Velkin. You rock :) Jose, Stephanie, Lucy, & Waffles

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
