“Veronica was great with our dog Ares. She responded quickly to all messages and sent me pictures with each visit. She was very accommodating with my last minute changes I had to make to the drop-in schedule and is very personable.”

“We are very happy we used Emily to sit for our cat Lola. Lola is a shy cat, and can have some food-motivated aggression at times, but Emily handled this so well! She sent great pictures and updates every visit that made us feel that Lola was in great hands while we were away. She also left our house in tip-top shape. We would love to book with her again”

“Marcela was wonderful. We have a very nervous dog and usually takes a few visits before Sadie will warm up to someone, but she warmed right up to Marcela on first visit. She was was on time, sent us pictures with each visit, and was very easy to reach all the time. Loved her! We will definitely be using her again.”
“Tamara was easy to communicate with and my dogs seemed happy and well taken care of. She was flexible and I could tell she was thinking about what would be best for my pups. I will definitely book again!”

“Taylor was absolutely amazing with our boys, we have worked with her in the past and look forward to working with her in the future. Thank you so much we highly recommend her services to anyone! 🙏☀️🥹”

About: What sets me apart as a dog sitter is my open schedule, which allows me to be flexible and attentive to your dog's needs. Whether your dog is young and energetic or just needs some extra care and attention, I’m here to provide a loving and fun experience. I am currently a college student home from school. I am taking summer courses, so I have an open and flexible schedule. Happy to work around you and your dogs needs. In my home, I make sure pets feel comfortable and safe by keeping a clean, calm environment with plenty of toys and cozy spots to relax. I follow their regular feeding and exercise routines closely. When caring in your home, I respect your space and maintain your pet’s usual schedule to keep them happy and stress-free. I prioritize their well-being and make sure they get plenty of playtime and walks.
“Olivia really helped me out in a pinch. Within 24 hours, she was able to come walk my dog. She sent many pictures of each visit and wrote up a nice paragraph synopsis of the visit. You literally cannot expect more from the service that Olivia provided! Top notch! Highly recommend!”

About: I worked for a small business a while ago where I would travel to peoples houses in order to take there dogs on a walk. I would also make sure to feed them, play with them, or just keep them company if needed. After that job, I worked as a kennel attendant at a boarding facility. There I managed many peoples dogs and make sure they were properly taken care of. This included play times, bathroom breaks, feeding, and even special treats now and then. I am looking for anyone who needs the help. I am currently job searching and wanted to go back into the dog business and figured this would be a great way to get back into it! Usually I will take my dog on longer walks and give him extra attention and play time at home. My dog is spoiled and happy!
“For peace of mind, you should book with Kay. Anyone can take care of your dog when things go well. Kay was amazing when my dog accidentally cut herself. She immediately took care of everything, stayed with my dog until I could get there and kept me informed. Don't go with someone who loves dogs, trust a dog sitter who can care for your dog if an emergency arises.”

“We had a great experience with Kimberly! Communication was simple and easy & she was flexible with last minute schedule changes. My pups were happy and well cared for when we got home. We’ll definitely book again!”

“Mary was great with drop in visits for our dogs! Communicated well when needed. The pups were happy when we got home, and in all of the pictures she sent while we were away. Will def book her again!”

“Grace did an incredible job taking care of our cat while my wife and I were out of town for 2 weeks. She was dependable, responsive and provided lots of pics and notes to keep us updated. Our cat requires several medications and Grace handled it all without any issues. I highly recommend Grace and will definitely rebook in the future.”

About: I’ve worked at a pet care hotel for the past year and a half and loved it. I was responsible for keeping a clean environment for the animals, and taking them out for walks. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule and am available throughout the day. This allows me to provide walks, drop-in visits, and pet care at times that work best for pet owners. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely look forward to each day. I have experience caring for dogs and currently have a dog of my own. Because my dog is not always comfortable around other animals, I prefer to provide pet care in clients’ homes, where pets can stay in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routines. When caring for pets, I follow the owner’s instructions closely, ensure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and playtime, and prioritize their safety and comfort at all times.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lorton
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best cat sitter I could have asked for! I’m very particular about my cats’ care, and I left detailed written instructions along with videos. She followed everything exactly, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She even brushed my long-haired cats, which I really appreciated and wasn’t something I expected. When I got home, they were happy, well cared for, and the whole experience was completely stress-free. It was obvious they had been looked after with genuine care and attention to detail. I would absolutely trust her with my cats again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and attentive pet sitter!

Daniella did great with checking in on our dogs! They seemed to enjoy their walks with her and didn't have any issues. She left good notes about her visits and was easy to communicate with. We needed additional care for the week and she was willing and able to continue helping out, which was greatly appreciated! I would highly recommend Daniella and rebook her.

Our dog Juno immediately took to Adelina and it was such a relief for us to have an experienced provider assist with our dog’s medication injections. She administered the injections with obvious skill - Juno didn’t even flinch! Adelina was very communicative and we would work with her again without hesitation!

Emily did a wonderful job dropping in to visit our 2 cats while we were away for a long weekend. She is very responsive and sent detailed updates and photos for each day so I felt assured they were being taken care great care of. Would love to use her again for future trips!

Excellent service, everyday day providing updates with pictures. Actually, we owe her an apology, because we responded to her messages late—or didn't respond at all, so we’re sorry about that 😅 thank you again for everything, taking your time to be with our doggie and playing with her too.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
