Safety, trust & environment
I do not currently have the capacity for boarding, so for sitting I will be staying in your home. I love to go on walks and explore new areas! I also adore snuggly dogs, and could spent hours just sitting on the floor and petting them.
Information Ray L. would like to know about your pet
I need to know about any potential reactivity, sensitivity, or behavioral quirks of your dog beforehand, so I can keep myself and your animal safe! For house sitting, I will also need to be aware of any medications your dog is on, and it is extremely important to me that their vet information is up to date in case of any emergencies.
A typical day
I typically like to do 2-3 30+ minute walks with a dog per day. I usually allow dogs to sniff as much as they want, as in my mind, the walk is primarily for them, and sniffing can provide lots of mental stimulation for a dog. I also enjoy a lot of cuddle time, and love playing tug or fetch with dogs that enjoy those activities!

Pet care experience
I've spent my entire life around dogs and cats, and have spent a significant amount of time researching dog behavior and training. I have lots of experience with reactive dogs, and thus feel comfortable with dogs (and cats!) of any temperament and age. My first priority is safety of both the animal and everyone around them. As such, I will never do on-leash greetings with your dog and any other dog, nor will I ever take your dog off leash for any reason. My second priority is building a trusting relationship with your animal(s). I am willing to take things as slow as needed to develop that trust, and feel confident in my ability to read animal body language and never push an animal over its threshold. I value trust and communication between myself and you, as well, and it's important for me to feel that we have open lines of communication. I will not judge you for any quirks your animal may have, but it is crucial that they are disclosed to me so that I can take the best care of them and keep everybody involved safe! I truly love animals and will love them like they are my own. (I can also do reptiles)

Reviews

We felt very confident leaving our dog is Ray’s hands! Great communication throughout!

Ray has been an exceptional addition to mine and my dogs life. Enthusiastic, caring, interested, communicative are just a small taste of the quality of character Ray has demonstrated. Highly recommended and highly praised. 10/10 will hire again.

This is our second time that Ray has cared for our sweet doggie in our home. She's a really caring sitter. She's experienced, has good judgment and loves animals, and she left our house in great shape. Having her take care of Honey in our home gave us real peace of mind. We will definitely ask her to watch Honey again.

Ray was extremely helpful and super nice to our Bojack!! I would recommend Ray to anyone!!
