The sitter allows the dogs to wander freely in the yard and home but also ensures that there are controlled zones for safety. My Layla is a very sensitive dog so I can tell from her temperament if she feels comfortable. When I came to pick Layla up she sat on the front porch with me letting the sitter pet her. I believe I have found a second home for her that will treat her like family when I am away!!!!!❤️❤️❤️”

About: I always had dogs and cats growing up since I was 6. I've taken care of dogs (walking, feeding, bathing, and boarding) for my friends, neighbors and family for at least 6 years mostly for medium and small dogs when they are away/out of town. My husband and I work full time from home so my schedule is flexible to provide any services such as drop-in, walks, day care and boarding either on daily basis or on your special occasions. We have a dog (medium size) at home and we would like to ensure that we give lots of affection and playtime to your fur babies. We live in a townhouse surrounding by many traits and dog parks. My husband and I will give your fur babies lots of affection and playtime, we’ll do our best to make them feel at home! Our guest pups usually sleep alongside with our own dog in their individual beds, either in the basement or living room areas. Also, when providing drop-in visits, or dog walking services, I will not only be taking care of your dogs, but I will also take care of your home by taking a little extra time before I leave to ensure everything’s secure, and the dog has what they need before you come back.

About: I was a devoted dog mom to my Pomeranian mix, Bear, for 12 wonderful years and have been caring for pets through Rover since 2023. I’m very comfortable caring for dogs, including those with health conditions that require patience, consistency, and extra attention. I understand the importance of administering medications, maintaining routines, providing gentle walks, and respecting when pups need rest. My husband, Michael, grew up with dogs and helps care for pups during their stay when he’s not working. We do not have any pets in our home, allowing your dog to have our full attention. Our space is comfortable and open, giving your pup room to relax and move around freely. If your dog uses a crate, we’re happy to accommodate it and have space to set one up as needed.

About: In addition to being an approved foster home for Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, I've cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, and one very cute hamster throughout my 48 years. After both of my senior rescue pups passed away from old age during Covid, I've really missed having a furry companion running around. I'm not quite ready to have my own pet full-time again but enjoy caring for others' furry friends between foster pups. Open to full day, evenings, or weekends. Seniors have a special place in my heart and are always welcome. I am very experienced with those that have special needs or medicines. I do ask that all pets are kid friendly as I have a 10 year old "trainer" that comes with me and really enjoys reading to the pups at bedtime. Though my son will keep his distance from dogs that are skittish, we want a safe and calm place for both the pet and child to stay when they're in our home. For stays in our home, especially those last minute needs, we have beds, crates, bowls, toys, and even various types of emergency food just in case. We're who you need in a pinch or if your flight is delayed on the way home. Boarding in our home always comes with multiple walks a day and often a fun adventure and patio time! Working from home makes flexible pick up and drop off scheduling a breeze for pups staying with me! I look forward to making your pet part of our family while you're away. Be sure to let me know if they'd enjoy the park and long walks or prefer a more laid back stay with extra cuddles or space to decompress and we'll adjust. We sit for many families in our neighborhood and several prior dogs have walked with us to and from school (Hi Georgie!)... while others have napped most of the day away. (Hi Duke, Lana, and Mimi, I'm looking at you!) Need me to pick up to make it easier to head out of town? Or deliver once you're home? I gotcha! I have a small fenced in yard and lots of open green space out back to keep your pup busy! Does your pet prefer a walk around the neighborhood? We'll show them around around and where the best town "gossip" is located. Our "fur-iends" who visit love to check their "pee-mails" and we know all the great spots. Have a well behaved pooch? Your pet will always have free range of my home, if they're most comfortable contained near their humans I can close off doors and block off stairs! We even have extra floor coverings for those a little older that appreciate extra traction when walking. Does the pup like crates better at night, just let me know and I'll follow your routine! We have a couple med/lg sized ones here I keep on hand, in case they're needed. I usually keep the doors off so they can use it as a safe place whenever they'd like unless mom or dad prefers otherwise! Safety is incredibly important to us so all animals will stay leashed outside and I have a 2 pet limit set on Rover so things stay calm and we have plenty of scratchies & snuggle time with the dogs who like to hang out with humans. Have a senior pup who wants to hide somewhere quiet? There's plenty of great hiding spots and we'll tote a bed over to their new favorite spot to keep them comfy.

About: Hi! My name is Sarah. I grew up taking care of our family dog, rabbit, guinea pigs and fish. I feel comfortable and confident walking/caring for all different sizes and ages of dogs due to previously working for a dog walking/pet sitting company in the NOVA area during 2016-2017. During that year, I was also was responsible for overnight stays, and day time cat visits. My primary experience with pet care since that time has been taking care of my own dog (his name is Rudy, he is a toy poodle who has been the best friend we could dream of for almost 10 years and counting). I am in the medical field and am currently in between jobs, which allows my schedule to be flexible. I am available every weekday (and most weekends). For house sitting, I will keep to your desired schedule as my Rover schedule allows (as I will likely need to leave a few times during the day for other pet visits). I am comfortable staying overnight in your home. For dog walking, your dog’s safety is my top priority. I will avoid other dogs and if walking 2 dogs at the same time, I use a waist leash. I prefer to use a harness and non-retractable leashes (when available). Before or after their walk, we can also play fetch/play with toys inside or outside (if you have a fenced in yard). For cat visits, I am happy to clean their litter boxes, feed them, and play with them inside your home (only if they are interested, of course!) For either dogs or cats, I am able to administer oral or injectable medication if needed.

“I don't even know where to begin, but Jackie has been such an absolute BLESSING during a very tumultuous time where I have not been able to walk my dog, Sadie, due to having leg surgery and needing someone short notice. Never would I have thought that I would find my dog's godmother, but HERE WE ARE! Jackie is incredible with Sadie and Sadie is IN LOVE with Jackie. I used to work in vets myself and can feel Jackie's empathetic and beautiful nature when it comes to pets, and even my little demon hobbit cat loves her too and he is hard to please. Jackie is also aware of any inconsistencies with Sadie's behavior, potty breaks and has even checked for ticks as the spring gets nuts with those terrible creatures. We are going to be so sad that she won't be coming 3 times a day anymore, but Jackie has become an actual friend and Sadie and I plan to have visits. There is no way Sadie cannot be in Jackie's life and Jackie has expressed the same. We seriously love her so much and will still book with her when needed in the future. You could not be in better hands than with Jackie and I have trust issues lol. She is the VERY BEST <3”

I am available during the week, the weekend, holidays, very early or very late at night! I have two large dogs and an unfenced yard. They are allowed on the furniture. Neither are crated. They have lots of toys and get lots of attention.

“Jordyn took wonderful care of our senior dog while we were away. She sent frequent updates with photos throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog has mobility challenges and needs a little extra help, and Jordyn was incredibly patient, attentive, and caring. It was obvious she treated her with kindness and affection. Our favorite update was that she was “cuddling Mr. Wolf!” When we picked her up, she came home happy, calm, and relaxed, which is the best indication of the care she received. “10 stars!!!!! My Layla is a 90lb American Bully who is scared of her own shadow. But upon first meeting, Layla loved the backyard and enjoyed playing with the other dogs and the sitter’s son!! The sitter allows the dogs to wander freely in the yard and home but also ensures that there are controlled zones for safety. My Layla is a very sensitive dog so I can tell from her temperament if she feels comfortable. When I came to pick Layla up she sat on the front porch with me letting the sitter pet her. I believe I have found a second home for her that will treat her like family when I am away!!!!!❤️❤️❤️”
