“Cynthia was amazing! She was prompt in taking our dog for a walk everyday while we were away. Cynthia sent pics of our dog each time and kept in touch with us, which was reassuring. We would highly recommend Cynthia and would definitely use her next time.”

“Justin was wonderful! He sent check-in each time he walked and fed our dog Juni, and he clearly enjoyed spending time with her. We were happy to know he’s walked a few of our neighbors’ dogs too, so he was very comfortable with the neighborhood. I will definitely be hiring him again!”

“We met Nicole for the first time. She's a wonderful young woman, full of positive energy and joy. Our dog Sasha immediately liked and trusted her. It's clear that Nicole has a huge heart for animals. We offered Nicole a full-year schedule right away. ~ Tom”

He even brought a water cup for him, which was such a thoughtful touch. Jonathan was on time, dependable, and his communication was excellent. Teddy was in great hands, and I’d absolutely recommend Jonathan to anyone looking for someone caring and reliable!”

About: I started sitting in earnest four years ago, but grew up with my own dogs and often babysat for friends and family in high school and college. I’ve cared for Greyhounds, Border Collies, Shihtzus, Golden Retrievers, Corgis, APBTs, one Mastiff, one Akita, one senior German Shpeherd, and one Border Terrier/Shihtzu puppy. I’m a teaching artist, so my fluctuating schedule doesn’t allow me to have my own dogs, but the long periods of remote work and time between gigs means I have very flexible availability and can fill the hole in my heart by being a reliable, loving sitter for others. I really cherish any opportunity to spend time with any pups and look forward to meeting yours! I’m between gigs at the moment, so save some odd appointments, I’m available for morning, afternoon, or evening drop in walks, daytime sitting, or longer overnight stays and in-home sitting. I always prefer to take a walk with pet parents leading when I first meet new dogs to get a sense of what they’re used to. For multi-day sitting, I always follow whatever norms you set in your home to make sure training stays consistent and there’s no confusion that may create anxiety for your pups. If working remotely, I try to stay where pups can see me and take lots of breaks for walks, pottying, and pets. Unless you have a specific walking route, I like to stay on quieter streets with slower speed limits and less traffic so walks are calm. I also like to allow lots of time for sniffing (smells stimulate your pup’s brain!) unless you have behavioral or training concerns about avoiding distractions during walks.

About: I’ve had cats my whole life, and started taking care of my own very young. I have a kitty who is 5 years old now and he is my baby.! I’ve been in horse care for about 7 years, as well as watching and caring for other barn animals. Have had dogs in the family and dog/cat sat for friends my whole life as well! Currently have full availability, am open for walks anytime for what fits your routine, and sitting when they need some extra care. I can work with you and your schedule for weekdays for my availability. I know how important it is to see that your pet family has attention when you may have a busy life! I am with my cat a lot, and keep him on a good feeding routine and have outside time everyday. He is mainly indoor, so I have understanding of protecting your animals in the home as well as needing playtime, exercise, and fresh air. Every human and pet friend alike are different! I would love to know any/all of yours and your pets needs to support my best care and attention
“Gio was an excellent dog walker. She helped me when my current dog walker could not continue walking buddy. She reported all the details of the visit efficiently and gave us peace of mind. She was informative and responsible. This was my first time using rover and I had a great experience thanks to Gio. She has a true love for dogs and what she does. I will definitely work with her in the future.”

“Alexa was great with our dog! She communicated so well and was able to navigate an access issue into our house. We definitely use her again and recommend her to other others!”

“Evelyn responded promptly to my request for a dog walk and she came over and met my dog and I within 48 hours. I have a rescue dog with anxiety when it comes to new people. Evelyn was so sweet and patient with her. I even had a last minute change up where I had to add another dog that Evelyn had not met (friend having a baby), and she was accommodating and happy to help. 100% recommend Evelyn!”

About: I’ve been working closely with dogs since I was four years old. We moved around a lot growing up and I would always helped her readjust to feel safe in new areas. I would get to know neighbors’ and friends’ pets, and with this early life experience, I’m a natural at getting pets to feel comfortable with me. I have experience working with senior dogs and dogs in recovery from injury, as well as dogs who have been rescued or traumatized by scary situations. I am currently in school, so my schedule is extremely flexible. I typically have 1-2 classes per weekday, either in the morning or at night, leaving the majority of my schedule open for pet care. I always make sure pets’ emotional needs are taken care of. For example, I pay very close attention to body language. At home, if my dog is ever purposefully ignoring me, I check with her to see if something is wrong.
“Azucena was amazing with our Yorkie Amelia!!!! She was very kind and had a lot of patience with her as she is a little unsure around strangers. She took her for walkies and let her sniff to her hearts desire, gave her medication, wiped her paws to remove the harsh snow melt, and was excellent at keeping us updated. We are so glad we found her!!!!”

“The best! So helpful and lovely. They made sure to accommodate all of the special requests and left a note to me about how my dog did! Can’t recommend enough.”

“Teffni was great! She was always on time, friendly, and my dog Chai was so comfortable with her. Chai was always excited to go with Teffni and always came back good and tired out.”

“It puts our mind at ease to know that our reactive pittie is safe with Jeffrey and gets plenty of exercise and stimulation. Always great communication, great service!”

Sidney has been walking my dog for two months. She is very dependable and shows up at the agreed time. She also provides notes regarding the walks with pictures. She is kind to my dog and has an overall friendly demeanor. I am sorry that she won't be able to walk Holly after the middle of September.

Caden did an amazing job during all the summer time with weekly walks with my Benny, reliable and trustworthy. Sometimes on my request, because of the rain he was willing to change the schedule time to avoid benny being outside during rainstorm. I highly recommend!

Toni is always on time for walking, even played with our dogs. Pets were completely relaxed in her care, and we received daily photo updates, which is reassuming. Toni is excellent, she treats ours like her own. We’ll definitely be booking again for our next trip.
Naomi did a fantastic job taking great care of our three rambunctious dogs while we were away on vacation. Walking them twice daily, sending photos on daily walks, and checking in. It was a relief to see them so happy and well cared for while we were away. Naomi was very kind and gentle with our dogs even though they have a tendency to pull and she kept us updated thru text messages. Since we arrived back home our dogs have been sitting in the window looking for Naomi most especially around the normal times she would arrive. I would not hesitate to have Naomi care for our pups again. Very consistent and reliable, Thank you Naomi for your great care and kindness!
Whitney is the best and I’m so thankful I came across her on Rover - She is attentive and demonstrates the utmost care and respect for your fur baby. I only have positive things to say. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone responsible, responsive, and a great communicator!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
