About: Hi everyone, My name is Rachel and I am a huge animal lover who is passionate about providing the best care and companionship for our furry friends. I have been pet sitting for close to 7 years now, through Wag and also with Rover. Experience in administering medicine for both cats and dogs. I grew up with animals, as I had taken care of my own dog-Misia, a coackapoo, for 10 years and my mother with her Havanese dog, Tomo, of 4 years (and on-going!) I lead an active lifestyle and take dogs out for a long walk or find fun ways to play with cats too. I want to make sure I can provide a tailored approach to make sure your pets' needs are met as a photo enthusiast, happy to take pictures and provide an update throughout a boarding and/or a sitting especially. Coming up close to 7 years of being a pet sitter for Wag, Rover and individual clients, I would be honored to be your reliable pet sitter! I will be out of the country starting Sep 6 until mid November. I will have access to internet so if you are looking for services after mid-November, then please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you 😊 First and foremost what's important is that I understand the client's needs and their instructions on how to take care of their pets. Once you book my service, I would be more than happy to do an in-person meet and greet or a video call. If there are any further instructions (beyond what is listed on the Rover app), then I am happy to provide my personal email address if you would like to e-mail the instructions. These are the steps I take to ensure I can take care of the clients' pets in a safe and trusting environment.
“Justin was wonderful! He sent check-in each time he walked and fed our dog Juni, and he clearly enjoyed spending time with her. We were happy to know he’s walked a few of our neighbors’ dogs too, so he was very comfortable with the neighborhood. I will definitely be hiring him again!”

About: Hi everyone 👋 my name is Jenni and my experience with animals started when I was young. I grew up with dogs all my life and had a Lhasa Apso and Pitbull/Akita mix as my first dogs but now have 2 cats. My boyfriend has his own pet sitting/pet boarding business where I regularly help out. I have 19 years of experience taking care of all kinds of dogs and cats, including, young and senior pets. I have experience in administering oral, ear, and eye medication. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Looking forward to working with you and building long lasting friendships and partnerships with you and your pet. 🌞 Pet care fits into my schedule very well as I work locally which gives me the option to work remotely or in person. Therefore, I have a flexible schedule to adjust to the times you need help with. The care I provide for the animals that I will be watching while in their house is following the same schedule routine and safety plans the owners have for their own pet. During the meet & greet I love to learn about the owners pets so I can make sure to give the same quality of care that the owners give☺️
“We met Nicole for the first time. She's a wonderful young woman, full of positive energy and joy. Our dog Sasha immediately liked and trusted her. It's clear that Nicole has a huge heart for animals. We offered Nicole a full-year schedule right away. ~ Tom”

“Whitney is an excellent walker! Sully was immediately excited and eager to meet her and was clearly very happy after the walk. I’ve already booked a second walk with Whitney!”

“Got to know Juliet this week and learned how enthusiastic and helpful she is. My goldendoodle had no trouble adjusting and off they want to walk and explore. Will keep using Juliet in the future.”

About: I grew up with Rottweilers and started helping my dad care for our family dog from a young age, including as he got older. I also have a two-year-old dog of my own, so dogs have always been a big part of my life. Altogether, I have around six years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, and I’m comfortable with different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I recently moved from Sweden to Bethesda and currently have a very flexible schedule. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends, which gives me plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and giving your dog the attention they need. I’m happy to adapt to your dog’s normal routine, whether that means long walks and lots of exercise, shorter walks, playing with their favorite toys, or just keeping them company and giving them plenty of cuddles. I’ll always follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, routines, and house rules so your dog can feel as comfortable as possible. Most importantly, I genuinely love being around dogs. My wife always jokes that dogs seem to come say hello to me before they greet her. If there’s a dog at a party, that’s usually where you’ll find me! I recently moved to Bethesda from Sweden and have a very flexible schedule as I’m settling into my new life here. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends and can easily accommodate walks, drop-ins, and different routines throughout the day. I live in an apartment in Bethesda and have plenty of great areas nearby for both long and short walks. Your dog’s safety and comfort will always come first. I’m happy to follow your usual routine, feeding instructions, walking preferences, and any house rules you have. I’ll also make sure you receive regular updates so you know your dog is happy and well cared for.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for many years, and each experience has taught me how to be patient, loving, and responsible. I looked after my sweet poodle for 17 years, especially when she grew older and developed Alzheimer’s. It was a challenging time, but I cared for her with all my heart. I also helped care for dogs adopted by my family. My elderly aunt adopted a street dog named Fred, and since she couldn’t manage walks and vet visits on her own, I was the one who took care of him. Later, my grandmother adopted another rescue named Bruce, and I became his main walking companion because of her limited mobility. Currently, I live with my host family, and they have a wonderful rescue dog named Rosie. Whenever they travel, I’m fully responsible for her care — from walks to cuddles — and she has truly become my best friend. These experiences taught me how to adapt to the unique needs of each dog, whether they’re seniors, rescues, or playful companions. I always make sure pets feel safe, happy, and loved. I currently have a very flexible routine, which allows me to adapt easily to your pet’s needs. I can adjust my schedule to make sure they’re cared for and happy. When caring for pets, my priority is always their safety and comfort. I make sure to follow their usual routines, from feeding and walks to playtime and rest, so they feel secure and at ease. I pay close attention to their behavior and needs, and I’m always careful with doors, leashes, and surroundings during walks. Whether in my client’s home or with a pet I’m sitting, I treat their space with respect and keep everything clean and organized. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet and your home, so I do everything with responsibility and care.
“Anne was great dealing with our dog who gets anxious around new people. With a bit of patience and treats, Anne calmed Archie’s nerves without us around and was able to take him for a walk. Very appreciative of Anne taking the time to work with our dog!”

“Sarah came by on short notice and was great with Benji, taking lots of pictures and giving him a longer walk than I probably would have. Huge help while we're adjusting to the new city.”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and know how much a good walk means to both a dog and their owner. I’m attentive to pace, leash manners, and body language, and I treat every dog like my own— reliable, on time, and genuinely happy to be there I care for pets around a flexible part-time schedule, so I have plenty of time to give your pet attention. I’m available for on weekends, and on weekdays I’m free most mornings and afternoons for walks, feeding, and playtime Since I’m coming to your home for walks, I always make sure doors and gates are securely closed before heading out, and I keep dogs leashed at all times unless you’ve specifically approved off-leash areas. I take care to check food, water, and any home instructions before and after each walk.”
“Celeste was very easy to communicate with and left a thorough report card of their walk every day. Celeste arrived right on time to take Remy for a long walk and even took him to the park to play fetch. I highly recommend and will be using her again!”

About: I have been pet sitting on and off since 2024! I have sat dogs and cats! I can also walk dogs at any time of the day! I I have a 17 year old cat so she is my priority. She has to take medication twice daily. We’ve raised her since she was 8 weeks old. She used to have sisters but they sadly passed at 15 and 16 i have a fenced yard and live in a house. I have one cat who is my top priority and live with 3 other people

“Eric is a great dog walker! He walks Ranger every week and manages him well. Since he’s a bigger dog, I always ensure a walker feels comfortable managing him, and Eric is great! He is easy to communicate with, flexible to last minute needs, and proactive in ensuring we have our weekly walk booked for a convenient time. I highly recommend Eric’s services for your one-off or regular dog care needs!”

About: I am an experienced pet sitter with over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. Throughout my work, I have provided reliable, attentive care that includes feeding, walking, administering basic medications, maintaining routines, and offering companionship to ensure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I am especially attentive to individual needs, whether caring for energetic dogs, shy or anxious cats, senior pets, or animals with special routines. My long-term relationships with families reflect my commitment to trust, consistency, and treating every pet as if they were my own. My walks aren’t rushed—I give dogs time to sniff, explore, and enjoy their surroundings while getting exercise and enrichment tailored to their pace. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily schedule, as I intentionally plan my availability around consistent feeding times, walks, play, and individual attention to ensure each pet receives reliable, attentive, and unrushed care throughout the day. I provide attentive, home-based pet care in a calm, safe, and structured environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. In my home, I maintain each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and rest, to help minimize stress. I ensure pets receive plenty of individual attention, affection, and enrichment through play, exercise, and quiet companionship based on their needs and personality. I closely monitor behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, maintain a clean and pet-friendly space, and prioritize safety at all times. My goal is to create a warm, home-like setting where pets feel relaxed, cared for, and genuinely at ease while their owners are away.
“Chiara was great with my puppy. She responded to a somewhat last minute request and came for a meet and greet, which went quite well. She showed up on time for all of our appointments, and the puppy seemed very satisfied when I saw her next! Would definitely hire her again.”

About: I previously owned a wonderful dog named Ollie, who taught me just how important love, patience, and routine are when it comes to pet care. Although I no longer have a dog of my own, I miss having them around and would love the opportunity to care for yours. I am readily available to give your dog long walks, playtime, or simply lots of attention and cuddles. I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I'll always treat your pet as if they were my own. I have a fenced yard and have gates that I can put up inside the house up if need be. We usually don’t like dogs going in the basement, mainly because that’s the kids area and there are lots of small items and toys they can get into.
“Genevieve was wonderful! Very responsible and clearly cares deeply for animals. As a new pet owner, she made us feel very comfortable and confident having her be with our new pup. Highly recommend her - we plan to continue to use her in the future!”

About: I have a pet Russian tortoise who requires special care and delicate handling that's more involved than, say, walking and feeding a dog or taking care of a cat. I have a pretty flexible schedule both this summer and into the fall. Pet care can easily be scheduled around my summer job and college classes. I make sure pets, my own and others that I've been responsible for, get plenty of attention. I don't leave them until all their needs have been met

Sidney has been walking my dog for two months. She is very dependable and shows up at the agreed time. She also provides notes regarding the walks with pictures. She is kind to my dog and has an overall friendly demeanor. I am sorry that she won't be able to walk Holly after the middle of September.

Kelly is a great walker and companion to our dog Ducky! We had originally hired Kelly for 3 days a week - Ducky gets so excited when Kelly arrives, and he comes home happy and tired (in a good way) after each walk! Kelly is also very informative, adding details on each walk and letting us know of anything else after returning

Christopher took wonderful care of my dogs while I was away. He asked thoughtful questions upfront so I felt confident they were in good hands, and he sent regular updates that put my mind at ease. When one of my pups got unexpectedly sick, he handled it calmly, cleaned everything thoroughly, and left the space spotless. That kind of care and responsibility means so much. I’ll absolutely be booking with him again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
