About: I’m a pre-vet student who just graduated from UVA and has grown up with two large dogs! I’ve also recently owned a hamster from a college lab! I have a lot of experience dog and cat sitting for friends and family including puppies, kittens, and senior dogs and cats. I also have about 100 hours of dog walking experience from a shelter so I am comfortable with reactive/fearful/energetic dogs, and another 100 from shadowing at a vet practice. I just got a vet assistant job so usually it requires me to be away for 6 hours! I can only do all day pet sitting on Wednesdays and Sundays which I have off! I always make sure that I understand the instructions that I’m given and maintain clear communication with the owner if I have any questions. I never make any assumptions and always make sure that the owner is comfortable with any decisions that need to be made.
About: I have experience with all kinds of situations when it comes to pets. I’ve sat for dogs ranging from 10-90+lbs, cared for senior and special needs animals, and watched up to 9 pets at a time! No matter the size, care needs, or number of animals, I can handle it. I am currently a full time college student at Marymount University with classes Monday-Thursday, so I am currently only offering pet sitting from Friday-Sunday or on holidays and breaks. When I stay at your home, I make sure to keep the environment clean and free of hazards for your pets. I make sure never to let pets get into anything they’re not supposed to and I go out of my way to make sure that not only is the environment safe, but your pet feels safe and happy.
“Victoria, her son and their friend make a reliable team. The drop in visits were at the time agreed upon, they stayed for the full 30 minutes, fed, played with and cleaned up after the dogs. I’m very satisfied with their care.”

About: Hi everyone 👋 my name is Jenni and my experience with animals started when I was young. I grew up with dogs all my life and had a Lhasa Apso and Pitbull/Akita mix as my first dogs but now have 2 cats. My boyfriend has his own pet sitting/pet boarding business where I regularly help out. I have 19 years of experience taking care of all kinds of dogs and cats, including, young and senior pets, and bunnies/rabbits. I have experience in administering oral, ear, and eye medication. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Looking forward to working with you and building long lasting friendships and partnerships with you and your pet. 🌞 Pet care fits into my schedule very well as I work locally which gives me the option to work remotely or in person. Therefore, I have a flexible schedule to adjust to the times you need help with. The care I provide for the animals that I will be watching while in their house is following the same schedule routine and safety plans the owners have for their own pet. During the meet & greet I love to learn about the owners pets so I can make sure to give the same quality of care that the owners give☺️
“Ariana was amazing! She came to meet the kitties first and was great about communicating while I was away. I was worry free while traveling and came home to happy cats! I hope Ariana is available the next time I have to travel. Also, the absolutely adorable photos she got from the check-ins made me so happy <3”

“Sarah was wonderful with the cats. They got along with her really well and she was very thorough in giving us updates and photos. I will definitely be asking her to cat sit again in the future!”

“Cindy was great with Zoey! She’s very communicative, sent updates and photos throughout their visit. I highly recommended using Cindy’s services, I know I’ll be a repeat customer the next time I head out of town!”

“Becca is a phenomenal sitter! She is extremely communicative, detail oriented, and really put me at ease that my cat was doing well while I was out of town (and we had moved the week before!). Most importantly, my shy cat warmed up very quickly to Becca and I might have even caught my cat mid-slow blink in the many pictures she provided with each visit! I look forward to booking with Becca in the future!”

“Hannah was great! I booked her to spend a couple of hours with our dogs during the day while our night sitter was working. We have a Corso. Hannah was gracious to come meet our dogs prior to appointment.”

About: I’ve house sat a lot and cared for pets, including injured or sick dogs. I had dogs growing up as well! Open to almost any job, just can’t bring pets back to my place. I work 9-5, and I’m happy to feed, walk, and play with pets in the mornings before work and in the evenings. Overnights are also great if you don’t want your pet to get lonely at night. I cannot have pets at my home, but I can come to your home and care for the pet in the environment they are used to. Happy to be inside or outside as much as you’d like me to.
“Jana was absolutely wonderful! She was very responsive and kind with my shy kitty. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a trusted sitter for their felines!”

About: I’ve been the neighborhood dog walker and cat sitter since I was 10, and caring for animals has always been something I genuinely enjoy, not just a way to make money. - I’m experienced with strong dogs who pull on walks - I'm happy to run with dogs who need a little more exercise - I can handle grooming and administering medication - I have no issue following your rules, and practicing commands and routines they already know I know how to say "May I pet your dog?" in 12 languages, and I think that says a lot about my love for animals. I treat every pet like they’re my own and want them to have a safe, happy, and fun time while you’re away. I'm a full-time student, but I'm available in the afternoon and evening most weekdays. I can do mornings if you live within a mile of American University. On weekends, I'm usually 100% free starting at 2:30pm Friday. I make a point of being on time for every walk and check in, reliability is a personal value of mine. I am patient with animals, while still being firm when necessary. I'll never, ever, yell or intimidate your pet. I respect your home and will clean pet fur and messes. Your home will be cleaner than you left it.

About: I have pet sat for my neighbors since I was 15 years old, professionally so for a collective 8 years. (from childhood to today totalling 21 years) I grew up with at least one dog in my parents household, loved both our family dogs through their senior years and beyond. I am pet cpr/ first aide certified, currently own a 9 year old Grey Domestic short hair cat, Thor, and my 28 year old horse, Riley. I am looking to head back to school for veterinary medicine with focus on large animal sports medicine/orthopedics. Eventually mixed practice too. In the horse world, I have 33 years under my belt, with my godmother introducing me at age 3. I am passionate about pet care, large and small. Most experience with cats, dogs, and horses and looking to expand. From the toy breeds of canine, to the extra large goofs, I enjoy caring for your loved ones as if they were my own. Shy guys? No problem! I take my time letting them get to know me without offense. Need a little extra help on training homework from your professional training team? Walk me through and I am more than happy to continue with their routine. I'm a softie for seniors. Looking forward to meeting you all and your pets! Available for walks, pop ins now! Currently in the process of signing up to renew my pet cpr and first aid certification. And I hope to start vet med prerequisites online at NoVA Community College. The later I am able to balance with all the attention on your pets. My neighborhood is nearby Scott's Run, Great Falls Park and Riverbend Park here in McLean and Geat Falls, Virginia. If ok with pet parents, I can take them for a walk (one at a time) during in home boarding. We don't have a fenced yard but our neighborhood offers plenty of walk routes. At client's home, I try to keep our walks with in the neighborhood and no socializing due to safety, even if your pup knows a neighbor's pup.

“Victoria was amazing!! She was very communicative with me regarding our girl who had a small cold and was even able to wipe her eye even though she’s very weary of people. She even went above and beyond by vacuuming up a little! I could not recommend Victoria enough. We’re definitely going to be using her as our sitter going forward!”

“It was a pleasure to meet with Carly on Thursday, we discussed some important things about Parker being taken care of, things he likes and also-the things that we need to be careful about him.”

Audrey was truly amazing and went above and beyond to take excellent care of Archie. She went to check on him after a storm, and also stopped by due to an issue at my house with no questions asked. Archie seemed happy, relaxed, and had a clean litter box when I got home. I will absolutely use her again!!

We have worked with Sarah twice now and feel really lucky to have found a pet sitter who is so reliable. Our cat also seems to really like her. (She doesn't purr for just anybody). Definitely recommend her if you're looking for pet help while you're away. And we will certainly be seeking her out again. Thanks, Sarah!
Becca was fantastic! She took great care of our two cats while we were away, including giving one of them medication twice a day. She sent us lots of photos and daily updates, and we came home to a tidy house and happy kitties. I would recommend Becca as a cat sitter!

Deniz is kind and communicative. I appreciate the extra mile she went to in caring for my sweet geriatric kitty! Not only do I think this, but Catness the cat did too; she came out to say hi to Deniz and get pets, which she only does when she trusts someone. 5 stars, highly recommend!

Sun has watched both mine and my in-laws’ cats multiple times and she is the best sitter we’ve ever had on Rover. I’ve had many sitters and each one of them have had their setbacks, some bigger than others, but I can’t think of one negative thing to say about Sun. She’s punctual, communicative, kind, responsible, and sends lots of pictures! If you need a sitter, there isn’t anywhere better to look.

Stephanie stepped in on short notice and took great care of our dog and cat while we were away? She left helpful notes, sent photos and gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were out of town! I would definitely recommend her and will reach out to her when we travel again.

Megan was AMAZING! This was our first time using Rover and it was a great experience. Megan was very responsive, always sent pictures during her visits, and provided a very detailed recap of the visit. This was our first longer trip since we adopted and I was more than comfortable with Megan taking care of our cats. When we have a trip, I will 100% be reaching out to Megan again

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
