“I am so grateful to have found Luisa! She is extremely caring, loving and professional. She always put the animal’s well being first and I feel so relieved to know she’s available to take care of my cat when I’m away. I’m moving to a different state soon and I wish I could take Luisa with me! If you’re looking for a sitter Luisa is an excellent option :)”

“Sure! Here’s a smoother version of your review that keeps your kind tone: --- Evan is reliable, communicative, and great with my cats. Pagu and Taro always seem happy and relaxed when we return home. It's such a relief knowing they're in good hands when we're away.”

About: Growing up with three dogs, I have learned not only that different dogs have their own lifestyle and personality, but also different feeding habits and behaviors. My clef pallet pup, Daisy, has taught me that patience can lead to happiness and learning with all kinds of dogs. As a recent high school graduate, I am available all summer to care for your furry friends. As I prepare for college, I am building my savings to have a successful first year! Growing up, I have had dogs of different sizes, from teacup size to 50+ pounds. Not only do I have experience with tricky behavioral dogs, but also pups with disabilities, such as clef pallets.
“I couldn’t be happier with the care my cat, Ivy, received! Summar arrived right on time for the appointment and made sure to keep me updated on how Ivy was doing. The photo she sent of them bonding was all I needed to know that my cat was in great hands—it gave me such peace of mind while I was away. She truly went above and beyond, not only taking excellent care of Ivy but also cleaning her dishes, picking up litter debris, and making sure the cat waste was properly taken care of. Her responsiveness, flexibility, and genuine love for animals were evident in every interaction. If you’re looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter who will treat your pet like their own, I highly recommend booking with Summar! I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again in the future.”

“Chiara is reliable and has been a fantastic help and support for us while we've been away. She is prompt at sending pictures and her communication is excellent, as she replies almost instantly to any message I have needed to send her. Our cat has been well looked after.”

“Andre was the best!! So attentive, always sent me photos of Freddie, and was a huge hit. He was juggling a few other pets during the same time but never made me worry about if Freddie was taken care of. THANK YOU, Andre!”

About: I’ve lived with pets my entire life and they are so dear to me. My family has had multiple cats at all times and a dog and caring for them has always been a joy. This has included several very senior cats over the years (16+ years old!). I am experienced in tending to cat litter boxes, food, water, and play time. I also have experience giving medication orally and topically for cats. I am also experienced in walking dogs and providing food, water, and oral medications. I am a pretty active person, so if your dog needs longer walks I can easily accommodate them! I am a student working on my own schedule, so I am flexible with my availability. Mornings are especially good for pet sitting - I love starting the day with pets. As a cat mom I always want pictures, so I will keep you updated through photos and text. I am also happy to address any incidental messes in the house while I’m looking after your pet.
About: I have always lived with horses, dogs, and cats in my home country, and I would love to continue spending time with pets here as well. I enjoy taking long walks—even in cold weather—and running outdoors, and I would be delighted to have a dog accompany me! I hold a master's degree in veterinary medicine from my home country and have experience caring for both large and small animals. While I periodically travel back to Europe, I am committed to spending quality time with pets when I am in DC, ensuring they get the exercise they need and recommending veterinary care when necessary. As a pet owner, I understand how crucial it is to choose the right pet sitter for the well-being of both pets and their families. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily schedule, even though I work part-time. I prioritize creating a structured routine for the pets, ensuring they receive ample attention, exercise, and care. My flexible work hours allow me to accommodate multiple walks, playtime, and regular check-ins throughout the day. I live in a neighborhood with excellent access to the C.C. Trail and nearby wooded paths. These trails offer shady areas and ample opportunities for exercise, making them ideal for long, enjoyable walks and jogs with the pets. In a client’s home, I follow their specific routines and preferences for pet care, including exercise, feeding, and any special needs. I make sure to use the local trails to provide the pets with the same level of care and activity they would receive in my own home.

“Victoria unfortunately had to deal with my kitty passing away while I was away. She acted quickly and took him to the vet where he could be held until I returned the next day. I am grateful for her help and resolve to do the right thing.”

“Sharon took such good care of my kitties during my weekend trip! Any pet owner knows the anxiety of leaving your pets with a sitter, but after the first night I knew they were in good hands. I loved receiving her updates and my cats seemed so relaxed when I got home. I plan on asking Sharon to watch them again!”

About: I’ve always been surrounded by animals. From adolescence and into adulthood, I have taken on the responsibility of petsitting and dog walking my own animals and those of family and friends. I love to spending time with animals and look forward to caring for yours! I am currently a college student. This means my flexibility is very high and I’m available during most of the day during the week. Every pet, their preferences, and the routines established by their owners are unique. I find it best to cater to the needs of the pet and their owners.
“Becca always does an amazing job with my sometimes shy and timid cat Lola. The photos really show how excited Lola is when Becca visits and just how good her cheek scratches are!”

“Sarah was wonderful with the cats. They got along with her really well and she was very thorough in giving us updates and photos. I will definitely be asking her to cat sit again in the future!”

“Salma was so attentive and thoughtful. She kept us updated every day on our cats, and successfully made our anxious cat Bijou comfortable enough to come out from her hiding place. Salma sent great pictures, thoughtfully washed out the cats’ dishes every day, navigated our annoying litter robot, and helped put all three of our cats at ease. She is great!”

“Daria was absolutely AMAZING with my pup! She made sure that Charlie felt comfortable and spent extra time with her to ensure that. I would highly recommend Daria as she is professional, compassionate, and dedicated!”

“Rachel took great care of my 2 cats while I was out of town. She made sure to keep me updated after each visit and sent me adorable pictures. Would definitely recommend using Rachel!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Westgate
Christopher came through for us at the last minute to take care of my grandparents' cat, Peabody, and we couldn't be more grateful. He was quick to respond and even made time for a meet and greet beforehand. My grandparents loved the photos and updates he sent throughout, and it was clear Peabody warmed up to him fast, shy as he is! Seeing him curled up on Christopher's lap said it all. We'll definitely be booking with him again.

Nicole cared for my 2 cats while I was away. It was the first time in many years that I’d traveled without them, and Nicole was patient with all of us. She arrived on time, sent pictures, and answered my questions quickly about if they were eating, etc. We have some finicky old doors that can be tricky to open/lock, but Nicole managed everything perfectly. I will choose her again!

Justin stayed in our home for five days and cared for our two dogs and two cats while we were away. We have a fairly complicated pet situation, including an older dog who can be wary of strangers and requires medication, as well as two cats living on different levels of the house, one of whom also needs medication. We had never left all of our pets for this length of time before, so it was important to find someone we could trust. Justin communicated well throughout our trip, kept us updated, and handled our pets’ routines and medication schedules responsibly. He managed a lot of moving parts and took good care of the animals and our home while we were away. We appreciated his reliability and the peace of mind he provided during our first extended time away from our pets.
Erin always does a great job! Every time I come back from a trip, my cat looks happy, healthy, and well cared for. My cat is very shy and skittish, but I think she’s come to understand the she's in good hands while in Erin’s care. I’ve met some great sitters on Rover, but Erin has been the absolute BEST!

A well deserved 5star review! I had an emergency with my cats, when I called her to come help, she arrived incredibly fast. Not only did she handle the urgent issue perfectly, but what really impressed me was how proactive she was. She went above and beyond to take care of my cats. She is incredibly reliable and gave me such peace of mind. I will absolutely reach out to her again next time!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westgate. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
