“Victoria, her son and their friend make a reliable team. The drop in visits were at the time agreed upon, they stayed for the full 30 minutes, fed, played with and cleaned up after the dogs. I’m very satisfied with their care.”

“Caden was a reliable and reaponsible petsitter. He was rewponsive and flexible when plans kept changing and game to give medicine when last minute need arose. Highly recommend”

“Marilyn was a wonderful cat sitter. She was very thorough in making sure she knew where everything was and what needed to be done ahead of time. She came at the scheduled times, fed them per my instructions, and pilled the cat that needed medication. She sent plenty of photos of the kitties and gave me a detailed update of how things were going, and spent plenty of time with them. I really appreciate how wonderful she did taking care of my three kitties. I would not hesitate to have her come again.”

“My cats are always happy when we come back home! - a sign that they had a great time with Evan. He sends great reports and photos, and we feel very comfortable knowing that the kitties are in good hands :)”

“Daria took terrific care of my cat, Electra, while I was away for a few days. She gave me detailed and fun write ups of her visits and great photos of my girl. And Daria gave Electra lots of attention and affection, and I came home to a happy cat.”

“Catherine is very friendly, cleaned up an accident thoroughly that my dog had made when previous care giving fell through from another individual, and communicated promptly. She’s the best! 🩵”

“Audrey was great with helping with our 4-month old puppy who is not yet house trained and crate trained! She came and stayed with Rocky for a few hours, was prompt, and was thorough in asking for directions - the appointment was scheduled on a fairly short notice as a first time client and Audrey took the initiative to propose a meet and greet. All around great experience!”

About: Hi everyone 👋 my name is Jenni and my experience with animals started when I was young. I grew up with dogs all my life and had a Lhasa Apso and Pitbull/Akita mix as my first dogs but now have 2 cats. My boyfriend has his own pet sitting/pet boarding business where I regularly help out. I have 19 years of experience taking care of all kinds of dogs and cats, including, young and senior pets. I have experience in administering oral, ear, and eye medication. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Looking forward to working with you and building long lasting friendships and partnerships with you and your pet. 🌞 Pet care fits into my schedule very well as I work locally which gives me the option to work remotely or in person. Therefore, I have a flexible schedule to adjust to the times you need help with. The care I provide for the animals that I will be watching while in their house is following the same schedule routine and safety plans the owners have for their own pet. During the meet & greet I love to learn about the owners pets so I can make sure to give the same quality of care that the owners give☺️
“Sarah was wonderful with the cats. They got along with her really well and she was very thorough in giving us updates and photos. I will definitely be asking her to cat sit again in the future!”

“Becca took amazing care of my cat Leon! She was easy to communicate with and took extra time to make my shy cat feel more comfortable during her visits.”

About: I’ve been the neighborhood dog walker and cat sitter since I was 10, and caring for animals has always been something I genuinely enjoy, not just a way to make money. - I’m experienced with strong dogs who pull on walks - I'm happy to run with dogs who need a little more exercise - I can handle grooming and administering medication - I have no issue following your rules, and practicing commands and routines they already know I know how to say "May I pet your dog?" in 12 languages, and I think that says a lot about my love for animals. I treat every pet like they’re my own and want them to have a safe, happy, and fun time while you’re away. I'm a full-time student, but I'm available in the afternoon and evening most weekdays. I can do mornings if you live within a mile of American University. On weekends, I'm usually 100% free starting at 2:30pm Friday. I make a point of being on time for every walk and check in, reliability is a personal value of mine. I am patient with animals, while still being firm when necessary. I'll never, ever, yell or intimidate your pet. I respect your home and will clean pet fur and messes. Your home will be cleaner than you left it.

About: Since rescuing a stray cat in 2021, I have been responsible for every aspect of her daily care, including feeding, cleaning, playtime, grooming, and monitoring her health. Caring for her has taught me patience, consistency, and how to recognize changes in a pet’s behavior. As a graduate student, I am organized, dependable, and committed to providing pets with a safe, loving, and stress-free environment while their owners are away. I’m currently a graduate student with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide reliable pet care throughout the week. I can accommodate drop-in visits, cat care, dog walking, and house sitting based on your pet’s needs. I always make time to provide pets with attention, playtime, exercise, and companionship, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages during every visit. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, medication, routines, and any special needs. I keep the environment clean, secure, and stress-free while respecting your home and your pet’s boundaries. Having cared for my rescued cat since 2021, I understand how important patience, consistency, and trust are when caring for animals, especially those who may be shy or anxious.
“I couldn’t be happier with the care my cat, Ivy, received! Summar arrived right on time for the appointment and made sure to keep me updated on how Ivy was doing. The photo she sent of them bonding was all I needed to know that my cat was in great hands—it gave me such peace of mind while I was away. She truly went above and beyond, not only taking excellent care of Ivy but also cleaning her dishes, picking up litter debris, and making sure the cat waste was properly taken care of. Her responsiveness, flexibility, and genuine love for animals were evident in every interaction. If you’re looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter who will treat your pet like their own, I highly recommend booking with Summar! I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again in the future.”

About: I’ve house sat a lot and cared for pets, including injured or sick dogs. I had dogs growing up as well! Open to almost any job, just can’t bring pets back to my place. I work 9-5, and I’m happy to feed, walk, and play with pets in the mornings before work and in the evenings. Overnights are also great if you don’t want your pet to get lonely at night. I cannot have pets at my home, but I can come to your home and care for the pet in the environment they are used to. Happy to be inside or outside as much as you’d like me to.
“Chiara is reliable and has been a fantastic help and support for us while we've been away. She is prompt at sending pictures and her communication is excellent, as she replies almost instantly to any message I have needed to send her. Our cat has been well looked after.”

“Lauren is amazing. Literally stop looking for other Rovers, and hire Lauren. She is incredibly sweet, helpful, flexible, and so friendly with my cats. Took tons of pictures, provided videos, and lots of detailed reports on each visit. Top tier communication and was able to help me out on short notice, AND during the holidays. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with hang someone check-in on my cats while I was away. Thank you Lauren!!!”

“Victoria was amazing!! She was very communicative with me regarding our girl who had a small cold and was even able to wipe her eye even though she’s very weary of people. She even went above and beyond by vacuuming up a little! I could not recommend Victoria enough. We’re definitely going to be using her as our sitter going forward!”

Kayla was amazing! She followed all the instructions and was very flexible with the schedule. I would 100% recommend her to anyone with pets. My cats were happy and healthy when i returned home. She is very friendly and responded quickly to my messages. I will definitely book her again !

We have had many sitters for our cats over the years through Rover that have been great. After our normal sitter moved, we booked Vidya for a two week trip for check ins with our cat and her level of professionalism, kindness to our cats, attention to detail and thoroughness is above and beyond even the best sitters we’ve ever had. Her updates were both endearing and hilarious. She made so many observations on how our cats were behaving and adjustments to her care. We also had an issue with the lock on our door and she went above and beyond to get it sorted. I would give her 10 stars if there was such a thing

Marilyn was a wonderful cat sitter. I would not hesitate to have her come again.

Karin took wonderful care of my cats while I was away! She came to my apartment to look after them, played with them, and made sure they always had access to food and fresh water. She also kept me updated on how everything was going and let me know about the little mischievous things my cats got up to while I was gone. What impressed me the most was how quickly my cats warmed up to her. Within just one day, they already seemed comfortable with her and trusted her, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Karin is caring, attentive, and reliable, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take great care of their pets!

Nicole was reliable and communicative with her drop-ins, and sent notes and pictures about how the cats were doing. She went above and beyond cleaning up barf when both cats decided to puke the same day. My cat really took to her and enjoyed sitting in her lap for pets. I am more at ease when I travel knowing that Nicole is caring for my babies.

Becca was fantastic! She took great care of our two cats while we were away, including giving one of them medication twice a day. She sent us lots of photos and daily updates, and we came home to a tidy house and happy kitties. I would recommend Becca as a cat sitter!

Another great sitting experience from Michaela! She watched after our cat for 10 days this time and never missed a beat. We got lots of updates, plenty of pictures and he was very happy when we got home. She overcommunicates which is also amazing. We will absolutely continue to use her!
Deniz is kind and communicative. I appreciate the extra mile she went to in caring for my sweet geriatric kitty! Not only do I think this, but Catness the cat did too; she came out to say hi to Deniz and get pets, which she only does when she trusts someone. 5 stars, highly recommend!

Sun has watched both mine and my in-laws’ cats multiple times and she is the best sitter we’ve ever had on Rover. I’ve had many sitters and each one of them have had their setbacks, some bigger than others, but I can’t think of one negative thing to say about Sun. She’s punctual, communicative, kind, responsible, and sends lots of pictures! If you need a sitter, there isn’t anywhere better to look.

This is my second time booking with Caden and he is once again absolutely fantastic. He works very well with instructions, is communicative, and my cat seems to love him. He also sends hilarious check-in photos which would always make my day. If you have the opportunity, you should definitely book with him.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westgate. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
