Pet care experience

Sitter of Cats, Dogs and Critters

I have over 15 years of experience caring for animals of all kinds, including large and small dogs, cats, hedgehogs, ferrets, and hamsters. Over the years, I’ve also rescued and cared for injured wildlife, including rabbits, turtles, and birds. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly love caring for them. I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I also have experience caring for pets with special medical needs. My own cat is immunocompromised, so I’m comfortable administering medications, following specialized diets, and providing attentive, compassionate care for animals who need a little extra support.

Another great sitting experience from Michaela! She watched after our cat for 10 days this time and never missed a beat. We got lots of updates, plenty of pictures and he was very happy when we got home. She overcommunicates which is also amazing. We will absolutely continue to use her!

Michaela watched our nervous chihuahua while we were in town. She was great with our dog, sent lots of pictures and was great to work with. We will be using her again!

Michaela has been the most responsive, caring, and flexible Rover that we have ever used. I highly recommend her for anyone in or around the Bethesda area. Consistent updates throughout the stay and her dedication to ensuring pets are well tended to put her a cut above the rest.

Michaela is a wonderful person. She took exceptional care of my doggy, Peppy! He had a fun day with her! She texted me when she was on her way, arrived on time, and followed all of my detailed directions. I am so proud of how well he did too. Before her first day caring for him, she met me and I discussed everything with her. I could tell she cared. She took initiative on wanting to learn everything about him and asked great questions. We even went for a little walk. Watching her interact with Peppy made me feel very safe and confident. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my baby bear. He is excited to spend time with you again soon 🤎🐾

Michaela watched our cat for the first time last week. We met her briefly in-person at our house to meet our furry friend and go through logistics. Our cat immediately loved her and so did we. She is very friendly and it is obvious she loves animals. She cared for our cat for 5 days with drop-ins 2x a day. He was very happy when we came home! We could not be happier with her communication each day and all the photos - it was obvious he was well cared for. Highly recommend her!

Schedule

Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and make time for in my routine. During the summer, my schedule is especially flexible, allowing me to accommodate a wide variety of care needs. Beginning in the fall, I’ll be working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some occasional work-from-home days throughout the school year and availability on holidays. Since I’m off earlier than many people, I’m able to provide afternoon and evening care, walks, drop-ins, or quality time with your pet when you need it most. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with my partner, who works in person only 2–3 days a week. That means if your pet is staying with us, they’ll rarely be home alone and will have plenty of companionship, attention, and care throughout the day. One of the things that’s most important to me is communication. As a pet parent myself, I know how comforting it is to receive updates while you’re away. My camera roll is already full of photos of friends’ and clients’ pets I’ve had the joy of caring for, and I can’t wait to add your furry family member to the collection! You can expect plenty of photos, videos, and daily updates, so you’ll always know your pet is happy, safe, and loved.

Safety, trust & environment

I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and routine, whether I’m caring for them in my home or visiting them in theirs. I know that pets feel most comfortable when their normal schedule is maintained, so I prioritize keeping feeding times, medication routines, exercise, and enrichment as consistent as possible. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with easy access to outdoor spaces, making it a comfortable environment for pets who enjoy walks, fresh air, and playtime. I’m also comfortable crating dogs when needed and following any instructions you provide to help your pet feel safe and secure. My own cat is immunocompromised, so I have extensive experience providing specialized care, including administering medications, managing special diets, monitoring symptoms, and paying close attention to changes in behavior or health. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, and I’m committed to providing the same patience, love, and attention I would want someone to give my own pets.
