About: Hi everyone, My name is Rachel and I am a huge animal lover who is passionate about providing the best care and companionship for our furry friends. I have been pet sitting for close to 7 years now, through Wag and also with Rover. Experience in administering medicine for both cats and dogs. I grew up with animals, as I had taken care of my own dog-Misia, a coackapoo, for 10 years and my mother with her Havanese dog, Tomo, of 4 years (and on-going!) I lead an active lifestyle and take dogs out for a long walk or find fun ways to play with cats too. I want to make sure I can provide a tailored approach to make sure your pets' needs are met as a photo enthusiast, happy to take pictures and provide an update throughout a boarding and/or a sitting especially. Coming up close to 7 years of being a pet sitter for Wag, Rover and individual clients, I would be honored to be your reliable pet sitter! I will be out of the country starting Sep 6 until mid November. I will have access to internet so if you are looking for services after mid-November, then please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you 😊 First and foremost what's important is that I understand the client's needs and their instructions on how to take care of their pets. Once you book my service, I would be more than happy to do an in-person meet and greet or a video call. If there are any further instructions (beyond what is listed on the Rover app), then I am happy to provide my personal email address if you would like to e-mail the instructions. These are the steps I take to ensure I can take care of the clients' pets in a safe and trusting environment.
“Cheryl is responsive and communicative. She let me know a month in advance for a few days she would be unavailable. Ajax also loves going on walks with Cheryl! Cheryl gets Ajax lots of exercise which is great!”

“Daria is so calm, so at ease with my quirky and stubborn old pup. I felt very confident leaving Poppy in her hands. Daria is also very communicative and was flexible with a last minute change in our arrangement. I really appreciate her excellent care.”

About: Hi everyone 👋 my name is Jenni and my experience with animals started when I was young. I grew up with dogs all my life and had a Lhasa Apso and Pitbull/Akita mix as my first dogs but now have 2 cats. My boyfriend has his own pet sitting/pet boarding business where I regularly help out. I have 19 years of experience taking care of all kinds of dogs and cats, including, young and senior pets. I have experience in administering oral, ear, and eye medication. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Looking forward to working with you and building long lasting friendships and partnerships with you and your pet. 🌞 Pet care fits into my schedule very well as I work locally which gives me the option to work remotely or in person. Therefore, I have a flexible schedule to adjust to the times you need help with. The care I provide for the animals that I will be watching while in their house is following the same schedule routine and safety plans the owners have for their own pet. During the meet & greet I love to learn about the owners pets so I can make sure to give the same quality of care that the owners give☺️

About: Growing up I’ve always had animal companions in my family’s house. My family has had generations of dogs raised into senior ages full of health. I currently have my buddy Timmy who’s been with me since I was 9, he’s a 14 year old German Shepard, Corgi mix. I’ve been responsible for his senior care for the last 5 years and have learned so much. I’m excited to be a part of your companions life and look forward to working with you! I am currently a full time student at an online university. My schedule is very flexible, so I am certain I can work with you to find consistent times to meet your pets needs. I believe that keeping a pet on a leash while on walks is the best way to protect them. I will ensure that your pet enjoys their time outdoors while being extra safe. I am a vigilant person as well, so I’ll always be on the look out for danger 🫡🫡
“We met Nicole for the first time. She's a wonderful young woman, full of positive energy and joy. Our dog Sasha immediately liked and trusted her. It's clear that Nicole has a huge heart for animals. We offered Nicole a full-year schedule right away. ~ Tom”

“Justin was wonderful! He sent check-in each time he walked and fed our dog Juni, and he clearly enjoyed spending time with her. We were happy to know he’s walked a few of our neighbors’ dogs too, so he was very comfortable with the neighborhood. I will definitely be hiring him again!”

“Juliana was absolutely wonderful! We hired her to walk our dog (Merlin) while we were visiting family in Chevy Chase for the holidays, and we could not imagine a better experience! She was attentive and caring with our 2 year old (high energy) pup, and she communicated very well with us about scheduling and about how Merlin did on his walks. Juliana was also incredibly helpful to us, as she was willing to make adjustments to fit our evolving vacation plans. We consider ourselves lucky to have discovered Juliana, and we will definitely look her up again the next time we come to town for a visit 😁”

“Larissa has been great so far with our puppy Moose. She has also been able to adapt very well to our changing schedule without ever having an issue. We appreciate how much she cares for Moose and look forward to continuing utilizing her services!”

About: I previously owned a wonderful dog named Ollie, who taught me just how important love, patience, and routine are when it comes to pet care. Although I no longer have a dog of my own, I miss having them around and would love the opportunity to care for yours. I am readily available to give your dog long walks, playtime, or simply lots of attention and cuddles. I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I'll always treat your pet as if they were my own. I have a fenced yard and have gates that I can put up inside the house up if need be. We usually don’t like dogs going in the basement, mainly because that’s the kids area and there are lots of small items and toys they can get into.

“Sharing an updated review, as Cynthia has been regularly walking our dog for a year+ Cynthia is extremely reliable and flexible when we need to add additional walks and takes the time to send pictures and notes after each walk! We are so grateful to have found her.”

About: I grew up with Rottweilers and started helping my dad care for our family dog from a young age, including as he got older. I also have a two-year-old dog of my own, so dogs have always been a big part of my life. Altogether, I have around six years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, and I’m comfortable with different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I recently moved from Sweden to Bethesda and currently have a very flexible schedule. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends, which gives me plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and giving your dog the attention they need. I’m happy to adapt to your dog’s normal routine, whether that means long walks and lots of exercise, shorter walks, playing with their favorite toys, or just keeping them company and giving them plenty of cuddles. I’ll always follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, routines, and house rules so your dog can feel as comfortable as possible. Most importantly, I genuinely love being around dogs. My wife always jokes that dogs seem to come say hello to me before they greet her. If there’s a dog at a party, that’s usually where you’ll find me! I recently moved to Bethesda from Sweden and have a very flexible schedule as I’m settling into my new life here. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends and can easily accommodate walks, drop-ins, and different routines throughout the day. I live in an apartment in Bethesda and have plenty of great areas nearby for both long and short walks. Your dog’s safety and comfort will always come first. I’m happy to follow your usual routine, feeding instructions, walking preferences, and any house rules you have. I’ll also make sure you receive regular updates so you know your dog is happy and well cared for.
About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my commitment to providing them with the best care. I am attentive, reliable, and focused on giving your pet the attention they deserve. Whether it's walking, playing, or simply keeping them company. In addition to general pet care, I’m comfortable with senior dogs who need extra patience and care. I understand that each pet has their own personality and needs, and I strive to make sure they feel safe and happy while in my care. I often walk to the park, which give me the opportunity to interact with dogs from other neighbors or friends. I really enjoy these walks, where the dogs can socialize and explore, making me feel comfortable taking care of them in the future. Also, during our outings, I always make sure to be attentive to the needs of the dogs I meet, giving them quality time and exercise. My approach is always in an active environment, full of love and respect, and I’d love to share that with the pets. I live with my two daughters, and we’re always looking for outdoor activities. We love going to the park, where we play, run, and explore together. When I care for a pet, I make sure they enjoy these walks and have a great time. I provide a safe and comfortable space at home, with lots of attention and love, and of course, I enjoy taking them to local parks where they can socialize and burn energy. At home, they feel like part of the family since my daughters are also very affectionate with the dogs. Every day is a new adventure for us, and pets are always welcome to join in on our daily activities
“Sydney does an amazing job with our dog, Motoko. She is punctual, professional, responsive and thorough. She has been a great choice for our dog walking needs. Highly recommend.”

“Jesica took excellent care of our pug! She was a pleasure to work with in setting up the walking schedule, showed up on time, took our dog on long walks at his pace, gave thorough and thoughtful feedback on the Rover cards, and made the process seamless. I will definitely look to use her services again when needed.”

About: Hi! My name is Vana and I am a remote worker in DC. I joined this service for some extra money and to meet and play with people's pets! I've taken care of animals all my life, from cats to dogs to guinea pigs to horses. I cared for/owned horses for four years (no big dog is too scary!), have had cats all my life, and had a hyper Aussie and sweet beagle of my own. I can take care of the youngest puppy to the oldest dog and my puppy days certainly hardened me for non-stop playtime and bountiful walks. I know how important pets are to every family and will treat your fur baby as I would my own. If you're interested in dog walking, drop-ins, or house sitting then feel free to message me and we can work something out. Due to my flexible remote/hybrid schedule, I’m available for all-day sitting at your home with frequent potty breaks and walks for a per diem rate, or can do drop-ins throughout the day. I also have overnight availability with advance (3+ days) notice. Thank you! As a hybrid worker, I have a flexible schedule and I am able to schedule my work around pet care. If I house sit then I remain at the house for most of the day and take care of the animals there, making sure to never leave them for more than a few hours. For drop-ins and walking, I make sure to build my daily schedule around those visits. I follow all instructions laid out to me by the owners and make sure the animals get their play while being safe and secure. I make sure to follow potty and food schedules, and ensure dogs get their daily exercise if it’s needed.

Caden did an amazing job during all the summer time with weekly walks with my Benny, reliable and trustworthy. Sometimes on my request, because of the rain he was willing to change the schedule time to avoid benny being outside during rainstorm. I highly recommend!

Toni is always on time for walking, even played with our dogs. Pets were completely relaxed in her care, and we received daily photo updates, which is reassuming. Toni is excellent, she treats ours like her own. We’ll definitely be booking again for our next trip.
Matt and Cole took such good care of our Nova. We needed last minute care and they were very responsive and willing to help. I would recommend Matt and Cole to anyone! They take care of your pet as if they are theirs and I felt at ease the entire time we were away for a wedding. Hire these two for your next event away!!!!! You will not regret it. Thank you so much again Matt & Cole 💛

Salma responded to my short-notice request quickly, which I greatly appreciated as it was for only a few days of dog-walking. I'd had some surgery on my leg and it was difficult to walk for the first few days. Salma came three times daily and was very kind and patient with my elderly dog. I would not hesitate to hire her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
