Pamela has been amazing with our 14.5 year old special needs dog Shayna! She is sweet and extremely patient with her, and has made a point of trying to get to know Shayna and her needs. Pamela followed our care instructions to a tee. She was punctual and sent us pictures and texts while visiting Shayna, and even stayed a little longer than the scheduled visit until she was sure Shayna was settled before heading out. We are very pleased with Pamela and look forward to having her take care of Shayna again soon.

About: Growing up I’ve always had animal companions in my family’s house. My family has had generations of dogs raised into senior ages full of health. I currently have my buddy Timmy who’s been with me since I was 9, he’s a 14 year old German Shepard, Corgi mix. I’ve been responsible for his senior care for the last 5 years and have learned so much. I’m excited to be a part of your companions life and look forward to working with you! I am currently a full time student at an online university. My schedule is very flexible, so I am certain I can work with you to find consistent times to meet your pets needs. I believe that keeping a pet on a leash while on walks is the best way to protect them. I will ensure that your pet enjoys their time outdoors while being extra safe. I am a vigilant person as well, so I’ll always be on the look out for danger 🫡🫡

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that I genuinely love being around dogs and have years of experience caring for them. I have been a dog owner for 8 years and have cared for both small and large breeds. Both of my dogs were raised from the puppy stage so I also have experience with training including potty and chew training. On top of just caring for my own dogs, I have previously worked as a dog sitter and walker for neighbours and family friends. My responsibilities included taking dogs on long walks, feeding them, making sure they went outside regularly, and, giving them attention while their owners were away. Apart from my experience I am a big dog lover, I am the type of person who walks into a gathering and immediately goes to spend time with the dog. For me it's not just a job, I enjoy spending time with dogs, playing with them keeping them active and giving them attention. Since I am a Uni student I do not see my dog often and I would love to be surrounded by them! I am a university student, we are currently on summer break, however I am taking a summer course from 11:00am - 1:30pm, Monday to Friday. I am free anytime after these hours and on weekends I can do earlier if needed. I live in a townhouse style apartment, It has a balcony on the back with two levels and a grass area on the bottom floor which is fenced. The apartment itself is not too small, there is a living area that is separated from the bedrooms. I believe there are no other dogs in the building.

About: As a dog walker, my specialty is to take pups out into nature. As I've been doing for 7+ years now, my service allows my dogs to grow and learn with each other amongst the sights and sounds of natural neighborhood trails. Offering socialization, training routines, in-depth interaction and lots of physical exercise, when I take dogs out to the trail I treat them as my own. I am typically active Tues-Thurs, with Monday and Friday being flexible. My walks/hikes are midday and offer my clients the opportunity to get their pup out during the work day for a thorough and holistic walking experience. For the service I offer, any pup that comes along quickly learns the rhythms of our activity. I've been described by friends as somewhat of a dog whisperer, and nothing brings me more joy than developing a mutual understanding between dogs wherein they get to have fun as long as they adhere to clearly established rules and modes of communication.

About: I grew up on a farm in Baltimore County, so you could say I'm comfortable around many different kinds of animals. We always had dogs and cats growing up. Last year, my sweet 14-year-old Maltese passed away and I have been missing dog (and cat) interaction since. She needed bi-weekly allergy shots, which I administered. That being said, I am experienced in elderly animal care and know how to administer medicine (shots as well as oral medicine). I live in a house with a fenced in yard and I live a short distance from a dog-friendly park. I am a stay at home mom, so I available most times of the day (except during school drop off and pick up). At the moment, I only accept one dog for dog boarding at a time. *Drop off and pick up times are between 8 am and 10 pm. I also offer pet pick up and drop off for $5 each if you are unavailable between those times.* I am available weekdays from 9-3 to help with your fur baby. Please let me know what I can do to help your pup or cat! I have a fenced in yard for your pup to play in freely. I also have a cavalier puppy of my own that would love to play!

Juan took care of our Bruno during a week long trip with twice a day walks in our neighborhood and he was attentive to Bruno’s physical and social needs. He followed instructions well without being able to meet in person. He communicated throughout our trip and made sure we knew if anything came up out of the normal. He offered reasonable adjustments to schedule based on what he saw fitting for Bruno. I could tell that Juan cared for Bruno and Bruno was in good hands. My housemate told me that Bruno was more excited to see Juan than anyone else in the house. As long as Juan is available I will look to him to take care of Bruno when needed.

About: Hello there! I'm Jenn, and I've been caring for dogs since about 2012. Many of my early experiences came from families my mom worked for while nannying and managing their households. While she kept everything running smoothly inside the home, I naturally gravitated toward spending time with the dogs. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of caring for many wonderful pups: • Koni (German Shepherd) – A loyal and gentle boy I cared for from adulthood through his senior years. Caring for him taught me patience and attentiveness when supporting older dogs. • Romeo (Golden Retriever) & Henry (Shih Tzu) – Two sweet pups from the same household who I helped care for from puppyhood. Looking after them taught me how to balance the needs of dogs with very different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. • Lacie (Medium-sized mixed breed) – A young adult dog who was the best of both worlds: very active and playful outside, but also a needy lap dog at home. She taught me how to balance exercise with affection and downtime. • Three German Shepherd–Black Lab mix puppies (3 weeks old) – Tiny foster puppies that required the same level of attention as a human baby. Caring for them gave me hands-on experience with very young dogs and early development. • Casper (English Golden Retriever) – The gentlest and sweetest boy, and definitely one of my favorites. He’s very affectionate and loves companionship, which reinforced how important routine, attention, and emotional comfort are for dogs. I’m experienced and happy to care for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages. I look forward to getting to know your furry friend and becoming their next buddy! I work in Bethesda, MD Monday through Friday, but I can take my break during the day to visit, feed, and walk your dog :) Depending on their temperament, there’s also the possibility of bringing your dog to my office! • Cozy office space: Bed, food, water, treats, and toys available • Safe travel: Fully equipped to transport dogs safely in my car • Nearby park: Perfect for extra walks and playtime during the day I’ll care for your dog through the evening, giving attention, cuddles, and play sessions after work :) On weekends, I dedicate my time to longer walks, games, and extra TLC. Even during the workweek, though, I take frequent breaks to give pets love, attention, and companionship so they feel happy, safe, and cared for. Your dog’s safety and well-being — both physical and mental — are my top priorities. Before I begin care, I like to meet you and your dog in person and do a walkthrough. Depending on the type of care, this may include: • Their temperament and typical routine • A walkthrough of your home • Food and medication schedules • Locations of necessary supplies • Your veterinarian’s contact information • Any other details specific to your dog’s needs I’ll also ask about your dog’s favorite ways to stay active, play, and feel comfortable. Every dog is unique, and understanding these details helps me provide care that keeps them happy, healthy, and mentally stimulated.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
