June 2026 - I reduced my rates for house sitting, hoping to find a new booking, saving up for a trip end of July. Need help with drop-in visits, dog walks, or a house sit while you're away? I'm your guy :) I send pupdates upon arrival along with details of each visit -see my pics for examples :) Hello, my name is David and I love dogs, and cats. I work remotely, thus can't help myself but give more attention to your pet(s) than they might otherwise receive from sitters leaving during the day to go to the office. My rates reflect giving loads of attention to them throughout the day, not just a morning, lunch walk, and/or walkings. If your dog(s) only require an overnight stay with a feeding and minimal dog walks, we may negotiate my rates. Me... My first connection to dogs... It began with my Grandpa adopting me my first puppy when I was 13 moving onto a farm in Ohio. She was a rescue who was my companion for 13 years. After moving to DC, I made friends with a neighbor, whereby she gave me blanket permission to access her home, and take her dog for a walk anytime. It turned out to be a win-win for all three of us. I've dog & cat sat for many animal lovers, breeds including German shepherds, rescues from Riwanda, brown labs, poodles, rescues from South Africa, chihuahuas, pugs, Bichons, terriers, dachshunds, Cockapoos, pointers, greyhounds, all kinds of poodle mixes, etc.. And even more felines, too many to list. I too, have had cats, one as a child, and most recently my "Saffron" who passed during the pandemic. If I don't know your breed, I'll do my research as well as take notes from you. I'm pretty transparent, in that I send "pupdates" while I'm looking after your pet. See examples of my pupdates below, and thank you for considering me :) I live close to NW DC, one mile into the MD side. Working remotely allows me much flexibility to be mobile while looking after your dogs. I have references of dog owners who trust me not only with their dog, but with their homes, and their cars (as needed), too! Although, I also have my own car. As you can see from the pupdates posted to my profile photos, I am in touch consistently with sharing pictures and texting with the owner, so you're fully aware of when, as well as, how much time I spend with your dogs and/or cats.

David is a true hero! While we were on vacation out of the country, the person we had hired to watch our dog failed to show up. We were in complete panic mode, but David stepped up in the most incredible way. At 2 o’clock in the morning, he came to ensure our dog was safe, and he didn’t stop there. David stayed and took care of our dog for the entire duration of our trip, giving us peace of mind when we needed it most. His dedication, kindness, and reliability were above and beyond anything we could have expected. David treated our dog as if it were his own, and we are forever grateful for his selflessness and care. If you’re looking for someone you can trust, David is your person. He’s not just dependable—he’s a lifesaver! Thank you, David, for being our hero when we needed one most!
David was incredible! He went out of his way to take Maggie on a specific walk that I had just suggested, and took great care of her, updating me with tons of photos every day. Our home was well taken care of, clean upon our arrival. Highly recommend.
David did a wonderful job dog/house sitting for our senior greyhound! He had prior experience with the breed and years of experience with dogs. He showed patience and care with feeding our dog, who has few teeth and needs extra help. He reported daily with pictures on her food intake and activities— took great walks. On our return, our dog appeared happy, well-exercised, and still at her best weight with the time David spent feeding her. It is definitely worth the higher rate to hire David, and we will definitely ask for his help caring for her again the next time we need someone.
David was fantastic, I will definitely use him again. He works remotely which meant he was able to spend a lot more time with my senior dogs than some sitters. The house was clean and tidy as well. He even washed the sheets and towels.

I work remotely thus can spend as much time as needed with your pet! I have an in-law suite attached to the home, that opens into a large fenced in yard, with plenty of space to play, as well as low traffic streets to go for dog walks on. :^) 🐾 🐾
Pets
A typical day
As mentioned, besides the ample room indoors, I have a fenced yard to play ball, fetch, tug of war, etc. with your dog :^) Most walks/runs are in my neighborhood on the back side streets with little traffic. I also have some dog clients where I bring them to trails into Rock Creek Park, and/or dog parks as requested. I have a late model 2022 car with full insurance, etc.
