“Sharon took care of my two cats (mid-age and older cats) during a trip away. We met ahead of time to discuss cat needs and services, she communicated well while we were away, and took great care of the cats. I would give her a strong recommendation for anyone needing pet care!”

“Ana was a pleasure to work with! She was incredibly responsive and happy to accommodate any last minute changes. She kept me completely updated all the way through on both my pets of course and my apartment. My kittens looked well taken care of and happy. Would absolutely book with her again.”

About: I have grown up with a big dog in my house, and now volunteer weekly in an animal shelter. I enjoy taking them on walks and caring for them as needed! I am currently on break from school, so have lots of time for dog walks and check-ins! I am free often this next month or so. I am very experienced working with different kinds of dogs from time at the shelter, and know how to handle different breeds and sizes. I will happily work to make sure your dog is comfortable with me!
“We had a great experience with Nezuko’s sitter and highly recommend them! They were reliable, attentive, and very caring throughout the visit. Nezuko was well taken care of, happy, and comfortable, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. Communication was excellent, and the updates and photos were really appreciated. It’s clear they genuinely care about the pets they look after.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience and passion for animal care. Coming from a family that has fostered dozens of elderly dogs, puppies, and kittens, I have acquired invaluable skills in handling various age groups and providing specialized care. Additionally, my background working in a veterinary hospital for over two years has honed my knowledge of emergency care and the ability to identify signs of distress. I am well-versed in administering medication, maintaining hygiene, and providing comfort to animals in need. With my comprehensive expertise and genuine love for animals, I am dedicated to ensuring their well-being and providing exceptional care as a sitter. I have taken care of pretty much every animal you can thing of as a pet, including bearded dragons, snakes, fish, iguanas, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, axolotls, parakeets, and parrots, just to name a few. I am available for dog sitting and have a flexible schedule to accommodate your needs. I work part-time 2-3 days a week, but the remaining days are completely open. I have reliable transportation and can adjust my availability to ensure your furry friend receives the care and attention they deserve. When caring for pets, whether in my home or my client's home, I prioritize their well-being and provide comprehensive care. I ensure they receive thorough exercise to keep them active and healthy. Timely feeding and constant access to fresh water are fundamental aspects of their care. Leveraging my experience from working in a veterinary hospital, I am vigilant in monitoring their health, always on the lookout for any signs of discomfort or distress. The safety and happiness of the animals in my care are of utmost importance, and I strive to create a nurturing environment where they feel loved and attended to.
“We utilized Kevin’s services for the first time during my outpatient surgery for a drop in visit. He inspires trust, which is extremely important on a day like that. He followed all arrangements well & kept us apprised. We certainly hope to hire him again!”

About: I've grown up with a Bullmastiff and later a Retriever. So I know my way around bigger and heavier dogs as well as more active and energetic ones. I am looking forward to apply those experiences to sitting and walking your four-legged companions with the similar dedication. In addition, we’ve recently lost our Charlie (my golden retriever) and would love to spend time with your pets to try to fill in that gap. But we are in the process of getting a new golden puppy, so puppy requests are welcome as well!
“Annah is honestly hands down the best cat sitter ever. She knew all of Bee’s favorite toys and gave him the attention he craved. She would be my first choice in the future to look after my precious Bee!”

About: Ive grown up with dogs since I was 4 years old and had independently trained them on my own. I’m a BIG animal lover cats AND dogs of all sorts. Any pet sitting/walking endeavors you seek I am more than happy to help out especially with the current season of summer travelling In currently on summer break from college with full access to a car. Tues-Thurs I am occupied with online summer classes that last from 6:30 pm - 8:45pm but any time before or after I am fully happy to help out I train clear boundaries within the home (no wandering in the kitchen) and remain all food items and tools off the floor. I also keep various toys such as Kongs and puzzles to keep my dog stimulated indoors. I’m also pretty active myself so most of the time I like to go on walks

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cabin John
Kayly was a fantastic sitter for our cat while we were out of town!! She was so nice in our messages and sent us plenty of photos of our cat and made sure she was comfortable and well cared for. She also was very communicative throughout the service and responded to all of our messages very quickly. We’d recommend Kayly to anyone who is looking for a caring and communicative pet sitter!

Kae is literally the person I was hoping to find on here! He is kind, thoughtful, conscientious, communicative, and flexible. He is amazing with the animals and is careful to ask questions if he doesn’t understand something. You can always tell a true animal lover when you meet one! Kay goes above and beyond. I am so happy to have found him and trust him 100% to take good care of our animal crew when I’m away!

Fran is wonderful and I felt at ease with her checking in on my cats. She made their treat time more exciting/stimulating by adding toys to a treat maze and always tries to engage my shy kitties. I appreciate that she takes notes and asks good questions about care preferences.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
