About: Ive grown up with dogs since I was 4 years old and had independently trained them on my own. I’m a BIG animal lover cats AND dogs of all sorts. About: I have had such a love for dogs ever since I can remember!! My family grew up with Labrador Retrievers - our two dogs were polar opposite: one was absolutely wild, while the other was super calm and sweet, so I've dealt with a range of different behaviors! Over the years, family friends and neighbors have asked me to dog sit their dogs, with ages ranging from puppies to senior dogs. My schedule is very flexible, as I am home most of the time! I have plenty of flexibility and availability for walks, drop-ins and pet sitting! About: I have had many dogs over the years, all adopted. Have fostered dogs too. Your pet will have access to several dog beds. My cairn and I would love to watch your dog with you are away. I am recently retired so am home most of the time. So your pet will get care and attention all day long that includes one daily walk. Additional walks available for a fee. I have a stockade fenced in back yard. I go outside several times during the day to hang on my deck and let my dog explore and play.

About: I started caring for pets in college (~2015), I am a 3rd Medical student at PSCOM. I am currently completing a research year at the NIH. Pet care is a great way to raise funds for my education, while doing something I love! I grew up with dogs: chihuahuas, german shepherds, saint bernards, and pitbulls. I have cared for small-to-extra large dogs. Loved each experience! I love to run/walk near-by trails and hikes. If you are comfortable with me taking your pets, I would gladly do so! I always send photo updates. I have two Jack Russel mixes of my own! They had to stay in Pennsylvania with my family, so taking care of your fur-babies will help me feel connected to them. If you want me to house sit, I will be studying most of the time and would appreciate a well-lighted desk and/or kitchen table! Happy to answer any questions. I am an early morning riser, and can fit in a 1-2 mile walk/run (whatever you & your pet are comfortable with) before starting my day at 9am. If the location is near my area, lunch visits to your pets are possible. Afternoon care could start as early as 5pm. I will model my gym & studying routine around whatever routine you & your pet are used to. When we are home our two boys stay inside, they love head pats and jump up for hugs/cuddles. In the summer time we have a fenced backyard patio where they stay during the day. In the winter time, we set up an enclosed area in our basement so they stay warm while we’re at work/school. They are small bodied but take up our queen sized bed!
About: When it comes to dogs, I have all the patience and love in the world. I'm responsible, playful, and a beacon of positive energy. I've dog sat and walked for friends and neighbors in DC. Our dog Naya (mini Aussie) also loves having a nap buddy. I live in an apartment building that is pet friendly, fenced dog run, conveniently located in within 5min from Rock Creek Park. Melissa was super friendly and accommodating for our senior cat. She was attentive and respectful of the space, making sure to clean up after herself and to always lock the door when leaving. She made sure to send thorough updates on our cat's eating habits, litter box use, energy levels, and more to make sure we were kept up to date with how our baby was doing! Nuha made my trip so much more enjoyable by providing really great details about what she and my cat got up to. I also loved how many photos she sent. My friends who have checked in on my cat previously sometimes didn't send a single photo the whole time I was away! Using Rover and Nuha specifically was so worth it. Vidya is wonderful with our cats, caring and detail-oriented. She has managed to win over the shy one, and the outgoing one has liked her from the start. One cat is diabetic and also eats a special diet, and Vidya has handled these needs with aplomb. Highly recommend!

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
