“Thank you for taking such great care of Belle and for your calm during the unforeseen interactions with other dogs on her walk. I’m glad everything went well and I am thankful that she was in good hands while I spent time with my family.”

“We had a great experience with Nezuko’s sitter and highly recommend them! They were reliable, attentive, and very caring throughout the visit. Nezuko was well taken care of, happy, and comfortable, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. Communication was excellent, and the updates and photos were really appreciated. It’s clear they genuinely care about the pets they look after.”

“Sharon Michelle is the best. She is wonderfully communicative, takes great photos, and incredibly reliable. I had to engage her on short notice due to a family emergency, had to extend a couple times unexpectedly, and was thoroughly reassured by her flexibility and devoted care to my cats. Amazing. The peace of mind she imparts is invaluable.”

“Julianna was absolutely wonderful with my two kitties. They usually take awhile to warm up to strangers but Chestnut in particular came out to greet her every day and even Peanut (more shy) came down to see her. Julianna reached out to me before entering the house to make sure alarm was off and did a great job keeping me informed. Will definitely be using her again!”

“Lingshan is a fantastic choice for your pet, and peace of mind. She’s very thorough and cares greatly about her caregiving, she’s very responsive and flexible! Churro always responds well to her. Thank you Lingshan!”

About: Hi! I’m Helena, a lifelong dog lover and experienced owner of a large, high-energy dog. I know that every dog has a different personality, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether your pup enjoys a long walk, a leisurely sniff around the neighborhood, or just some extra attention while you’re away, I’m happy to tailor each visit to their needs. I’m comfortable with larger breeds and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. You can count on me to treat your dog like one of my own. I’ll provide plenty of updates, photos, and reliable care so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I am available any day of the week. I know last minute needs happen so I am available same day if needed. Hope to see you soon! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll follow your care instructions, keep fresh water available, clean up after walks, and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention and exercise. I’ll also send photo updates and messages so you know how they’re doing while you’re away. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and will always use safe leash-handling practices.
“Nicole was gracious to accept a last minute booking. She took very good care of my boy. He ate his dinner too fast and threw up. She immediately sent me a text message to notify me and cleaned it up. She was very reliable, attentative to Roc, and made sure my baby took all of his medicine. She was on time for all walks and left everything tidy and secure. Thank you for taking good care of my baby. I will definitely book Nicole in the future!”

“Christopher was great at handling our dog-reactive GSD. She listened to Christopher and enjoyed her walks with him. We are very happy with Christopher’s punctuality and updates on expected arrival time. Thanks for your help with Parks!”

“This was my second time booking with Xin, and she was just as wonderful as the first time. She is incredibly attentive and caring, and my cat Tomo absolutely loves playing with her. It’s such a relief knowing my cat is happy and well cared for while I’m away. I’ll definitely continue to rebook with Xin in the future and highly recommend her!”

About: I offer more than basic pet sitting—I bring experience, intuition, and a calm, knowledgeable approach to every visit. From everyday care to more complex medical needs, including medication administration, I’m confident handling a wide range of situations while keeping your pet comfortable and stress-free. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, with a preference for early mornings, late afternoons, and evenings. These times are ideal for walks, feedings, and quality time, especially for pets who thrive on consistent routines or need care outside of standard work hours. I’m happy to work with your schedule to ensure your pet receives dependable, timely care when they need it most. My apartment is located in a safe, pet-friendly community that’s ideal for in-home sitting. The environment is calm, clean, and welcoming, with plenty of space for pets to relax comfortably. I make sure every pet in my care feels secure, supervised, and right at home.
“Alice exceeded our expectations in caring for our cats. They were very happy in her presence. We appreciate her clear communication and meticulous Rover cards. Her amazing care was evident throughout the stay. We were very much at ease with her cat-sitting for us, and we will gladly have her again. :)”

About: I just moved back to the DMV area and I’m excited to start caring for animals again! I am very familiar with caring for dogs of all ages, including seniors who need extra patience and attention. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals, including horses, cats, chinchillas, and birds, which gave me a strong understanding of different animal behaviors and temperaments. I am very patient, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether it’s an energetic puppy or an older dog who needs a slower pace, I adapt to each pet’s needs to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m a freelance artist, so my schedule is very flexible and allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends and can easily adjust to your dog’s routine, whether that’s multiple walks, slower-paced days, or just consistent company and care. I’m very attentive and aware of different animal behaviors from growing up around a wide range of animals, so I’m quick to pick up on what a dog needs and how they’re feeling. I’m especially patient with senior dogs but also comfortable with more energetic ones. I follow instructions closely and make sure each dog feels calm, safe, and genuinely cared for in their own environment.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Scotland
Rae is truly amazing! I always struggle to leave my babies with someone whom I don’t know but Rae made that so easy. She was so patient with our cats, not only gave them food but also played and spend additional time with the cats. That really demonstrates that Rae adores pets. She is extremely easy to work with and very flexible. When we came back everything was so clean! Huge thanks!!

Absolutely wonderful dog walker! They are reliable, caring, and clearly have a genuine love for dogs. What really stands out is their thoughtful communication—they always keep me updated, share helpful details about each walk, and make sure I know how my pup is doing. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my dog is in such attentive and trustworthy hands. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Hudson has watched our 2 cats twice now and we couldn’t be happier with the care and attention he gives them. He makes sure they get their pets and play time while we’re away, and sends great pics and updates. He’s responsive, proactive if there’s a slight achedule change, and just a pleasure to work with. I hope he’s available the next time we’re away!

Ana did an exceptional job caring for our cat, Louie. Louie tends to be shy and anxious when we’re away, but he quickly warmed up to her. She provided thorough updates following each visit to help ease my own anxiety - I had no question he was in great hands throughout our time away.

Anastasia took care of our kitty for several days (2 visits to our home a day), and we couldn't be more pleased. Besides providing food and water, she also had to clean up several messes. She has a great attitude, was super responsive and conscientious, and kept us up-to-date on how our cat was doing. We would love to hire her again.

Alice was so wonderful and gave me lots of updates and pictures of my cat and let me know how he was behaving, eating, etc. Her level of communication was exactly what I was hoping for since I had just moved & this was the 1st time I had been gone for a few days since the move. I really appreciated her reassurance that he was fine.

Alisyah is really great at communicating key pick up and giving detailed updates every day! I always received multiple photos of my cats and images to confirm feeding etc. My cats liked her almost immediately and were very well taken care of. I didn’t worry about them the whole trip!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
