“Lingshan is a fantastic choice for your pet, and peace of mind. She’s very thorough and cares greatly about her caregiving, she’s very responsive and flexible! Churro always responds well to her. Thank you Lingshan!”

“Sharon is a reliable, communicative, and thorough dog sitter! She checked in on our German Shepherd, Romeo, throughout the weekend. Sharon was on-time, sent us lots of pictures, and did everything we asked for our good boy! Would absolutely book her again!”

“Francis took great care of our 2 girls (cats)!! She provided us updates daily including pictures and videos which was much appreciated. We will definitely be booking her next time we’re out of town.”

“We utilized Kevin’s services for the first time during my outpatient surgery for a drop in visit. He inspires trust, which is extremely important on a day like that. He followed all arrangements well & kept us apprised. We certainly hope to hire him again!”

“Jana was my first experience with a rover sitter and I could not be more happy about it! She was really communicative about everything. She made a checklist for everything she needed to do for each visit and was really prepared. She also sent photo updates of my kitties and let me know every time she was with them. Jana also went above and beyond and made the kittens a toy for them to enjoy (so sweet!!) which really shows how much she cared about my kitties [and animals in general!] She took time to play with them and give them attention :) Jana made me feel so much better about having left my cats alone for a few days and I would book her again and I definitely recommend her services!”

“Danny was a God-send! He was super responsive, accommodating, conscientious, and responsible. He was also wonderful with our dog, Mojito, who looks out the door every afternoon as if waiting for Danny. 😃 I can't recommend Danny enough and will definitely be using him again.”

“William really put us at ease with his kindness, attention to detail and overall professionalism during our absence. Our boy was his regular self when we returned which speaks to the calm effective way he was cared for. Thanks William!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I can remember. From house sitting, to walking them, to even taking care of my own dog. I’ve worked with different breeds and ages, and I love them all! I stay at home mostly throughout the week, and I’ve been wanting to get out a couple of times, and this would be the perfect opportunity to take care of your dogs in walking, or dropping by to play! I live in an apartment complex, so I would have to go to where you are to walk/play with your dog, or I could take them to a dog park!
“This was my first time hiring a sitter, and Anna came through with flying colors! She came right on time, took extra care with my diabetic kitty, and kept me up to date. I'm so grateful!”

“Alice exceeded our expectations in caring for our cats. They were very happy in her presence. We appreciate her clear communication and meticulous Rover cards. Her amazing care was evident throughout the stay. We were very much at ease with her cat-sitting for us, and we will gladly have her again. :)”

“Julianna was great with Amber and very communicative! She updated me daily and made sure to give her lots of treats and playtime. This was my first time using Rover, and I'm so glad we worked with her!”

“Xin was amazing with our shy cats. They sometimes won’t come out when they meet new people, but they were very comfortable with Xin. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be booking again.”

“Mark was fantastic! He put us at ease the whole time we were away not just with great photos but with amazing information about how our two cats were doing and confirming everything was taken care of. He really went the extra mile and offered to do more than what we asked. He was reliable, kind, and the cats were clearly very comfortable with him. We would love to use him again in the future!”

About: I have been caring for all kinds of pets growing up and loved it ever since. I have experience caring for blind elderly cats, old dogs who need extra love, precious leopard geckos and everything in between. I care for any pet as if it was one my own 3 cats :). My schedule is very open because I am currently in between jobs, but I'll always make time for pet care if needed. Odd times or schedules are always welcome. I care for our cats in our house by making sure they're comfortable and have lots of enrichment to keep them occupied and entertained. Keeping things tidy so no kitty gets into something they're not supposed to get into is a habit I take everywhere.

About: As I have evolved, I've found connecting and caring for fur babies brings pure joy. I am here to support your journey with your loved pets. I'm a yoga instructor and teach only on Wednesdays. Im available other weekdays and weekends, anytime after 11am usually. Im able to adjust per requests. I would prefer to care for pets in client's home, where they can be most comfortable with all resources readily available. I'm available to take dogs for walks/day sit.

About: I have been pet sitting since I was in middle school for neighbors, families I nannied for, and friends. I have experience with kittens as well as senior dogs and everything in between. I currently work full-time, but have a very flexible in person versus remote schedule most weeks. I am able to decide which day I am where. I provide pets with the daily routines that they are accustomed to to make your time away from home as easy as possible for them.
About: I’ve been fostering cats and dogs with humane rescue society for over six years. These fosters are long commitments until they are adopted. Love and attention are most important for our fluffy friends! We are WFH and work schedule is very flexible. We have plenty of time at home, offer 3-4 long walks (at least half an hour each) per day. We walk them upon dropping off and prior to picking up to make it easier and more convenient to you. We also take them to a nearby tennis court to play fetch and adjust walking based on the dog’s energy level. We set a maximum number of dogs we can host one time depending on the size, age of the dogs and how much we know about them. We may also lower the price for a less energetic or smaller dog. We have two loving cats who can be separated in a room if needed. We will spend quality time with your pets to keep them active and healthy. We will be providing food and water according to their needs and schedule, ensuring their sleeping environment is safe and cozy.

This was my second time booking with Xin, and she was just as wonderful as the first time. She is incredibly attentive and caring, and my cat Tomo absolutely loves playing with her. It’s such a relief knowing my cat is happy and well cared for while I’m away. I’ll definitely continue to rebook with Xin in the future and highly recommend her!

Ashley was an absolute gem! She was completely reliable; we never had to wonder if she’d show up or follow through. The adorable photos she sent at every visit became the little highlight of our day we’d find ourselves looking forward to. The biggest sign she was doing something right? Our cat normally wolfs down her food out of anxiety or boredom when we travel — with Ashley, she ate totally calmly and looked happy in the photos. That said it all. We’re so grateful for the peace of mind and will 100% be rebooking her. Highly recommend!

One of the best pet sitters I have had. I have an older cat with medical problems. My 2nd cat can be aggressive with strangers especially when giving my older cat meds. She had the least problems of any pet sitter and was great with handling both. She is reliable and competent. Just did an amazing job.

Fran is wonderful and I felt at ease with her checking in on my cats. She made their treat time more exciting/stimulating by adding toys to a treat maze and always tries to engage my shy kitties. I appreciate that she takes notes and asks good questions about care preferences.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Scotland. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
