About: I have had many dogs over the years, all adopted. Have fostered dogs too. Your pet will have access to several dog beds. My cairn and I would love to watch your dog with you are away. I am recently retired so am home most of the time. So your pet will get care and attention all day long that includes one daily walk. Additional walks available for a fee. I have a stockade fenced in back yard. I go outside several times during the day to hang on my deck and let my dog explore and play.
“Cindy is AMAZING! She took such amazing care of my boys, and I will continue to book with her when I go out of town. She is someone who you can trust and my cats warmed up to her very quick!”

“As always, our doggos seem so happy when we get home. Derek and Christina always send up picture updates with each visit, and they’re very communicative. They are very reliable and trustworthy.”

“Bianca really helped us out at the last minute with checking on our cat Brisa while we were gone for a few days. She was able to take up the info we left quickly and without any preceding intro visit. We really appreciate the attention she paid to Brisa and making sure to send great updates. We would hire her again without a second thought!”

“Teffni took amazing care of my cats over a long week. She sent lots of pictures and she even got my shy girl to make an appearance or two! I would definitely call on Teffni again in the future. :)”

About: I've been dog walking ever since 2020, starting with my sister's retriever mix, my neighbor's dogs of similar size (85 lbs), and a family friend’s corgi. I'm used to taking care of dogs with a lot of energy! I've been entrusted to take of care my sister's dog on my own for extended periods of time since then, spanning anywhere from a week to over two months. I am available mostly from 10 am - 4 pm on weekdays, barring any special circumstances. On weekends I am less flexible in the afternoons. I have a fenced in yard that is decently spacious with lots of slopes for dogs to run across. It's perfect for a game of fetch or just a case of the zoomies! While I do spend most of the day on my own, I can give enough attention to any dog that needs it because of my flexible schedule.
“Drew went to my home daily for almost 2 weeks and took exceptional care of my 4 dogs. He left very good notes and did everything asked of him. I would definitely use Drew again to care for my dogs.”

“This was our second time booking with Karen. She was very patient in getting our dog to warm up to her and making the visit a success. When we came home, I think our dog was almost disappointed that it was us and not Karen coming again - almost!”

About: I have a wonderful 6 year old Shiba Inu and have been caring for a wide variety of pets since my kids were very young. We currently also have a 15 year old hermit crab, a rabbit we keep in a separate room, and have previously cared for several fish, frogs, and 5 large Blue Swedish ducks. We frequently dog sit for our friends and neighbors. Someone will always be available to watch or play with the dogs due to remote work and flexibility. We are typically up early and start out with a walk. Once we are confident the dogs are getting along, we can let them out in the yard together; otherwise, we make sure to give each of them their private space. We provide water inside and out and change it often - your dog can have its own bowls. We typically feed our dog 2 x per day but can accommodate any variation for your dog. We also provide some doggie treats, if permitted. We have portable fencing should the dogs need to be separated inside or out. We have a fenced in yard and garden and a very well behaved Shiba Inu. Dogs will always get a good amount of attention and have plenty to do. They are allowed on the couch if it's alright with you, and we have a crate if needed. The location is very quiet with few cars.

About: I have had such a love for dogs ever since I can remember!! My family grew up with Labrador Retrievers - our two dogs were polar opposite: one was absolutely wild, while the other was super calm and sweet, so I've dealt with a range of different behaviors! Over the years, family friends and neighbors have asked me to dog sit their dogs, with ages ranging from puppies to senior dogs. My schedule is very flexible, as I am home most of the time! I have plenty of flexibility and availability for walks, drop-ins and pet sitting! Whether you need care for the mornings, afternoons, or evenings, I should be free to help :) I care for every pet as if they were my own! I know how important routines are to our dogs, so I like to keep their normal routine as closely as possible to ensure ease, which includes meal times, walks, and play time! I will of course follow any specific instructions or preferences you have for your pet as well. In our spaces, I am respectful and focus on making sure your pet feels comfortable, happy, and cared for. I love taking photos, so you can expect lots of updates on my end to see how your pet is doing!
“Lo did a great job taking care of our geriatric zoo - above and beyond in a snow storm, 3 different medication regimens, and ensuring our fur babies were happy and well cared for.”

“Vidya was fantastic! She got along great with our two cats. She took wonderful pictures and sent us fun updates after each visit. I felt totally confident the cats were in great hands. Thank you, Vidya!”

“Mary went above and beyond for caring for my three cats. I had booked four visits for my cats. Unfortunately, there was a serious issue in my apartment building during that time. Residents and their pets needed to be evacuated. Mary ended up having to bring my cats to a boarding facility. She put them all in their crates, walked up and down eight flights of stairs in my building, put them in her car, drove them, and then admitted them to the chosen boarding facility. Through it all, Mary maintained constant communication and care regarding the well being of my cats. I would highly recommend Mary as a petsitter for your pets!! I don't know what I would have done without her help. Thank you, again, Mary!! 💗💗💗”

Vidya is wonderful with our cats, caring and detail-oriented. She has managed to win over the shy one, and the outgoing one has liked her from the start. One cat is diabetic and also eats a special diet, and Vidya has handled these needs with aplomb. Highly recommend!
Larquana was amazing with my fearful cats for drop in visits! My most anxious cat came out for her from the beginning. She sent great updates and photos and communicated any concerns she had immediately. She gave details about how they were eating, playing, etc. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a reliable pet sitter!

Annika is always so sweet and amazing with Brooklyn!! 🥹💕 She’s been watching her since she was only 8 weeks old and now she’s almost 17 weeks, so I love that she’s been there since the beginning and has gotten to watch her grow! She always has great communication and sends me the cutest pictures and updates. I also really appreciate that she reinforces the things I’m teaching Brooklyn like her commands, sit, her name, etc. She actually takes the time to engage with her and work with her which means so much to me. I always know my baby is in good hands with Annika! 💕🐶

Ilana is great! She took care of our senior cat Fifi while we were away for a week and a half. It was a bit of a last minute request and Ilana was very accommodating. We felt very comfortable going out of town knowing Fifi was in Ilana’s care. She kept us updated the entire time, giving us peace of mind so that we could enjoy our time away. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be reaching out again next time we need someone to drop in on Fifi.

Joanne is a great sitter, she did an excellent job with my Hershey! She stayed in contact with me throughout the evening, checked in with updates regarding Hershey, and shared pictures. This was my first time using a sitter through Rover and I’m so glad I lucked out with Joanne. Her experience with pets was perfect for Hershey (and me lol) since he’s still a young puppy and used to being with me mostly. I will definitely work with her again!

Syd was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly trustworthy, diligent, and conscientious, and I felt completely comfortable knowing my dogs were in her care. She followed their instructions carefully, was attentive to the little details, and was consistently reliable and communicative. It gave me such peace of mind to know I could count on her, especially with one of my dogs needing a little extra care. I’m so grateful for how thoughtfully she looked after them and would recommend her without hesitation.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
