WFH Small Dog Lover in N. Bethesda

Hi there! I'm Courtney, and I am a lifelong dog lover. I work remotely, which enables me to spend lots of quality time with your pet. I have years of experience (both professionally, and as an owner) caring for dogs (and cats too) of all ages and personalities. Since I’m home full-time, your dog will get lots of attention, regular potty breaks, and all the love and snuggles they could ask for. Whether it’s a cozy nap on the couch or a play session in the living room, I aim to cater to your dog’s needs and routine just like you would. We have a spacious 2 bedroom apartment they can safely roam about to play or relax. Our sweet Bichon/Maltese mix passed away in 2024. He lived to 17 years and we miss him very much! For the past 3 years, my husband, Scott, and I have been walking, sitting, and boarding dogs at our place through word-of-mouth and on Rover. We look forward to caring for your furry friend. We are both Pet First Aid and CPR certified. What you can expect from us: -Small dog specialists: I specialize in small dogs (under 25 lbs), making sure they’re comfortable and not overwhelmed. -Low-stress environment: We have a quiet, cozy home where your dog is treated like family. We do not have a dog of our own, so if your dog prefers to be an only dog, that is cool with us! If there will be another dog in our home, we will request and let you know ahead of time. -Personalized care: I take the time to learn your dog’s habits, needs, and quirks to ensure they feel right at home. -Daily updates: I send regular updates so you can see how your pup is doing while you're away.

I highly recommend Courtney! She watched my two cats, Eddie and Annie, from September 4 to September 8, and I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in her care. She was reliable, attentive, and thoughtful, and it was clear that Eddie and Annie were well looked after while I was away. I really appreciated her care and would gladly ask her to cat-sit again.

Courtney looked after Buddy for over 2 weeks which was the longest he has been away from us. This was Buddy’s second stay with Courtney so he settled well and adjusted quickly to his new environment. Courtney reached out to check in on Buddy before his stay, mainly to understand if there had been any changes she should be aware of. We received lots of photographs and messages every day telling us how Buddy was doing which was welcomed and reassuring. We were totally relaxed and confident leaving Buddy with Coutney (& Scott) knowing he was being very well cared for. Our return flights were delayed ahead of collection and Courtney offered a drop off at our home. This really helped us out when tired and pressured after long haul travel. When Buddy came home he was happy to see us, but we also see the bond he has with Courtney which is lovely to see. Thanks again Courtney and Scott!

Courtney was very responsive and took great care of our two kitties while we were away. She kept us updated, and they were clearly happy and well cared for in our absence. We’d gladly book with her again!

Courtney is very responsive and took great care of Luna while we were away. She played with Luna and sent photos and let us know how Luna was doing. It’s wonderful to know your pet is in good hands!

Schedule

I work from home, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet. I can take my lunch break to take your pup on a walk or for playtime during the week! On the weekends, we can take a longer walk or hike at one of the nearby parks if you have a high-energy pup.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

Since we had a dog of our own, many things are dog-proofed (no open trash cans, no food low to the ground, etc) in our apartment. Our 2 bedroom apartment has ample room for roaming and playing. Our 4-legged guests love our long entryway for playing ball. There is also a small fenced-in dog park nearby for fetch and sniffing.

A typical day

I'll do my best to adjust to your dog's schedule. Walks around the neighborhood, treat time, and playtime. They will also have plenty of times for naps and resting if that's more their style!

-Feeding: When and how much do they normally every day? Do they usually eat their food right away or snack on it throughout the day? -Walks: What is their normal walking and potty schedule? Do they like long walks or are they okay with just doing their business? How does your dog react to strangers (both people and other dogs)? Are they sensitive to the heat, rain, snow, etc? -Noises: Are they afraid of any noises? How do they react if someone knocks at the door, or if they hear noises outside? -Grooming: Does your dog need brushing, teeth brushing, or eye goop wiping? -Sleeping: Where does your dog normally sleep at night? What time do they usually wake up in the morning? -Other: Is this your dog's first time with a sitter? Does your dog have separation anxiety? Do they tolerate being left alone? I offer meet-and-greets so we can make sure it’s a great match. I can’t wait to meet you and your pup!
