“With a senior dog, we do get nervous about leaving mango new places. I would say within five minutes of the meet and greet it was clear that Shanilka and her husband would be taking great care of him. They asked all the right questions and during our stay sent regular updates to make sure we knew he was in good hands. Would definitely use again!”

“This was our first time boarding Maple so we were very nervous and anxious. Maple also had a last minute health issue come up the day we were to drop her off. About: I offer a calm, attentive, and personalized care experience for both cats and dogs in the Tysons, McLean, and Great Falls area. With over 6 years of combined experience, I take time to understand each pet’s rhythm — from gentle brushing and quiet companionship to playful moments and frequent photo updates. My goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and at home while you’re away. I work from home, so I have plenty of time during the week to care for your pets and give them lots of love and attention. On weekends, I love being outdoors—if your dog enjoys adventures, I’d be happy to bring them along for some fun and fresh air! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routine closely, keep the environment safe and clean, and treat your space with care. I provide regular photo updates so you always feel connected. I occasionally offer boarding at my home for small dogs and cats who can peacefully coexist with my friendly resident cat. I do slow, careful introductions to ensure a stress-free stay. Please note that I do not board large dogs.

“I couldn't have been blessed with a better sitter. Diana and her family totally exceeding my expectations with taking care of my Apollo. I received updates and photos multiple times a day, that showed the love he was getting, the amazing care he was getting, and he was happy. This was the 1st time using Rover and I was extremely nervous, but Diana and her family took away all my worry. She and her family celebrated Apollo's 3rd birthday with him. We were greeted with balloons. How awesome was that! Diana's love has for dogs shows immensely as well as her good character, and I would absolutely use her again and strongly recommend her for anyone looking for a sitter for their dog. Thank you Diana, I appreciate you and your family. Until we meet again...”

“My kitty was happy and content with Lingshan’s visits every morning for two weeks. This was a big relief because she wouldn’t come out when Lingshan first came over to meet her! I also appreciated the photos Lingshan shared with me every day. The next time I go away, I hope Lingshan will come over again, although I will have to make sure that I’m more clear on how the litter boxes must be cleaned every day.”

“Nicole cared for my 2 cats while I was away. It was the first time in many years that I’d traveled without them, and Nicole was patient with all of us. She arrived on time, sent pictures, and answered my questions quickly about if they were eating, etc. We have some finicky old doors that can be tricky to open/lock, but Nicole managed everything perfectly. I will choose her again!”

“I can’t recommend Summar enough! She took care of my cat while I was out of town, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such great hands. Not only was she proactive about cleaning and keeping everything tidy, but she also paid close attention to his medication instructions, which was a huge relief. Knowing that she’s trained in pet CPR gave me extra peace of mind, and it’s clear she’s genuinely passionate about animal care. She even sent multiple photos and updates, so I never had to worry about how he was doing. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for cat, and I’ll definitely be booking her again in the future!”

“I’m so grateful Armanush could come visit our cats during the four weeks we were away. It gave me peace of mind seeing photos and knowing they had company and interaction. I would ask her to watch my cats again for sure! Thank you very much, Anush!”

“Amber is amazing. She took exceptional care of our three maine coon cats, including our elderly cat who required medication. They received lots of love and attention while we were away and her pictures and visit reports were wonderful. I highly recommend Amber.”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Cabin John
“Grayson absolutely loves his time with Sasha. It isn’t like any other place. They actually care about your dog. The big reason we send Grayson is for the social aspect most of the time they have other dogs there for him to play with which makes everything that much better.”

“Shanilka was super responsive and understanding of my dog's needs!! She was very kind and prompt with pick up and drop off so I didn't have to wait long in the cold. Highly recommend!!”

“Daisy enjoyed her 5-hour stay with Rae yesterday. They went for two walks together, which Daisy loved. Rae was very conscientious and asked questions to be sure that Daisy would be comfortable and happy during her stay. I recommend Rae if you are looking for a responsible, caring pet sitter!”

“I recommend Loreen to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter! She made my dog extremely comfortable and was able to accommodate to our last minute time changes. I will definitely be asking her to take care of Tofu the next time I’m out of town!”

“Diana did an excellent job watching my dog. She asked about his likes and dislikes beforehand and was good at communicating drop-off and pick-up. She kept him entertained throughout the day with games of fetch and walks. I would definitely have her watch my dog again.”

About: 👋 I’ve had dogs and taken care of them since I was a child. I’ve owned an Airedale terrier, a pug, a Russian terrier, and my family currently has a Japanese spitz and a toy terrier. I have lots of experience - I have adopted a doggie from a shelter before, and I’ve also raised my two pups from 3 months old until they passed a few months ago at ages 14 and 16. Prior to registering on Rover I’d boarded dogs - I looked after a friend’s pug for a week, a family friend’s elderly golden retriever, and fostered a stray my sister and I rescued from the street before someone adopted her. I’ve taken road trips with multiple pets, and flown across the country with 3 of my dogs, I’ve taken them to all sorts of vet appointments, and been with them through all stages of their lives. ♥️ I’m on this platform looking for company to heal from losing my furry friends - the pain of it shook me to my core, I loved them so much, they were my family members (you know how it is). Being around dogs brings me peace and joy. I am a performing artist and I travel a lot for concerts, so having my own pet is unfortunately not feasible at the moment, hence I decided that taking care of someone else’s furry babies while I’m home between performances is the second best thing:) You can rest assured that I’ll take great pleasure in looking after them and having them in my home. 🏡 I work from home during the day and I am home from evening until morning, too. I do however step out for errands and appointments. Your dog will be with me most of the time while staying in my home, walked 2-3 times and fed on schedule, but should be comfortable being on its own for 2-3 hours max, if I have things to do. ❗️If your pup has severe separation anxiety and is unable to be alone at all, I can accommodate that with enough notice and for 2x my normal nightly rate. 🐶 I’ve always let my dogs run free around the house and made a safe space for them where they liked, but I did crate my rescue doggie when he first arrived to slowly acclimate him to the new place. Whatever you prefer for your dog is fine by me and I’m happy to accommodate. I don’t have a yard, but I have plenty of green areas nearby where I’d walk your furry pal. I keep my dogs on leash at all times. I steer clear of other dogs by default when I’m walking your dog, so whether they’re leash reactive or not, I err on the side of caution 100% of the time. 🐕 I like training doggies and playing with them to give them some mental stimulation, but if they prefer to chill and not be bothered I’m cool with that as well ❗️I’m not looking to scale this as a business and not looking for a potentially unsafe situation, so I’m always only caring for 1 dog at a time, unless both dogs are from the same owner and are part of the same booking.
“I couldn't be happier with both the care and physical activity my Gigi experienced while with Yi. She was well tended to, with tons of pictures and videos to keep me posted throughout the day, and she was allowed to really run and play burning through all of that puppy energy. She could barely stay awake when we got home! A+++”

“Jie was very kind, flexible and provided a safe, engaging space for my young dog's first experience at daycare. She took care to select appropriate pack dynamic for play and even worked on some 'place' and calm stay training throughout the day with her, which was unexpected and awesome. My dog loves her, and is always excited to visit. Totally 100% recommend Jie without reservation and hope to use her services again soon!”

“Lina took great care of our excited little pup. Excellent communication before, during, and even after care. We really appreciated the updates and photos and wouldn't hesitate to book with Lina again.”

“Jason&becky is a very considerable dog sitter. Milo had one-day with Jason who shared updates / photos every other hours. Milo played well with their two pups, we are very happy for Jason&becky ‘s service today!”

About: We would love to take care of your small hypo-allergenic dog for you while you are away. Our shih-tzu, Snuffy, is great with other dogs and has plenty of toys to share. Your dog will enjoy a minimum of two longer walks per day and two additional shorter potty breaks. We will text you photos of your dogs in action or lounging. Your dog will not be left alone for long. I work mostly from home. I have two boys, ages 15 and 18 who are very responsible and help with the care of your dog. Our dog sleeps wherever he wants, and so can your dog. We have a fenced in backyard, but we supervise the dogs while they are in the backyard because we have a pool. We have four of us living and working at home who are available to feed, walk, and entertain your dog. We feed the dogs in the morning and in the evening. We have tons of dog toys and a fenced in back yard for potty breaks. Since we already have two dogs, our home is dog proof. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and our dogs share their toys. We send pictures every day with updates.
About: I work from home and am very active! First dog walk is about 5/5:30 AM and again every 2-3 hours. High energy dog? No problem.. if it’s not raining I have rollerblades :) I’ve had dogs since I was 8 years old .. from a chihuahua to German shepherd to Rottweiler to teacup pups. Each dog has their own personality so I make sure I keep them nice and tired and petted. I’ve found that makes a pretty happy, chill dog. 😀 I’m a stay at home mom and am home all day, except for random errands, grocery shopping, etc. I am an avid walker (about 7-miles per day) so love the company (dogs, not people) when I can get it! Pups are given my attention all day! Between belly rubs, obedience games, watching tv, getting the mail.. they’re a constant companion and will receive pets throughout the day.
About: Hello, I’m Carrie and I love dogs! I have two dogs right now - Mattie (14) and Mavis (4) - and I’ve had at least one my entire life. I grew up around animals and love being with them and taking care of them. I first used Rover for a 2-week boarding for my dogs a few years ago and it was such a wonderful experience I thought I’d open my home for dog daycare and boarding, too. My dogs have had less than great experiences in dog boarding facilities and so I understand the desire to have a family home environment for your dog while you are away! I would welcome your dog for daycare or boarding at my home where I have both a fenced yard and a wooded area with a stream for daily walks. I take my dogs out at least three times a day. The home is a single family home with two levels and lots of space. I work primarily from home and on the days when I’m at the office, my husband works from home. I would take care of your pup on the same scheduled as my dogs unless you request a specific schedule. My dogs have the roam of the home and I have a fenced in yard and an outdoor space into the woods for leashed walks. I welcome you to bring your dog with whatever would make the dog comfortable during the stay and have plenty of space for crates, beds, dishes, etc.

About: I’ve cared for many of my own dogs & dogs of friends, gf’s, etc. since the late 1980s. I’m a long time dog owner and dog lover, who is also a professional and former small business owner - who is mature, responsible, and serious. On the professional side, I have a combination of organizational/business management and basic sales/marketing & customer service training. I own a single family home with a large yard. My “main job” is in tech and I work from home nearly every day. I’m minutes away from a large park as well. The pets (and people) under my care receive a lot of loving attention in a safe, higher end neighborhood. I have a fenced yard backing up to a very serene, wooded/natural setting with tons of trees. If needed, my home has specific crates/cages and multiple rooms, depending on what the circumstances require. However, usually most pets are allowed to roam freely throughout most of the house and yard, as long as they do not conflict with or disrupt others.

“Pamela has been amazing with our 14.5 year old special needs dog Shayna! She is sweet and extremely patient with her, and has made a point of trying to get to know Shayna and her needs. Pamela followed our care instructions to a tee. She was punctual and sent us pictures and texts while visiting Shayna, and even stayed a little longer than the scheduled visit until she was sure Shayna was settled before heading out. We are very pleased with Pamela and look forward to having her take care of Shayna again soon.”

“We met Nicole for the first time. She's a wonderful young woman, full of positive energy and joy. Our dog Sasha immediately liked and trusted her. It's clear that Nicole has a huge heart for animals. We offered Nicole a full-year schedule right away. ~ Tom”

“Genevieve is amazing with our dog Louis!! She is super friendly, responsive, and always on time, and she provides helpful details in her reports on every walk. Our dog is BEYOND excited to see her every time she comes to pick him up, which is always the best sign. We highly recommend Genevieve to anyone looking for a dog walker in the area.”

“Elliot just started walking Buddy and I can’t say enough nice things. Elliot is very responsible, shares information about their time together and Buddy liked Elliot from the jump!”

About: Growing up I’ve always had animal companions in my family’s house. My family has had generations of dogs raised into senior ages full of health. I currently have my buddy Timmy who’s been with me since I was 9, he’s a 14 year old German Shepard, Corgi mix. I’ve been responsible for his senior care for the last 5 years and have learned so much. I’m excited to be a part of your companions life and look forward to working with you! I am currently a full time student at an online university. My schedule is very flexible, so I am certain I can work with you to find consistent times to meet your pets needs. I believe that keeping a pet on a leash while on walks is the best way to protect them. I will ensure that your pet enjoys their time outdoors while being extra safe. I am a vigilant person as well, so I’ll always be on the look out for danger 🫡🫡
About: I've been walking my neighborhood dogs since I was a freshman in high school (4 years ago), and feel comfortable and experienced walking all types of dogs. I also volunteer at the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation, where I take dogs on various hikes and adventures. It's my favorite activity because I love expressing my love for them while hanging out with other dog-lovers. I will ensure that my walk with your dog is just as exciting and safe as the many I've walked in the past. It’s summer break from college for me, so I’m 100% free 24/7! Feel free to book me at any time (even early mornings) on any day of the week. 🐶🐾🦴 I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I’ll make sure they have fresh food and water and plenty of attention and playtime.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that I genuinely love being around dogs and have years of experience caring for them. I have been a dog owner for 8 years and have cared for both small and large breeds. Both of my dogs were raised from the puppy stage so I also have experience with training including potty and chew training. On top of just caring for my own dogs, I have previously worked as a dog sitter and walker for neighbours and family friends. My responsibilities included taking dogs on long walks, feeding them, making sure they went outside regularly, and, giving them attention while their owners were away. Apart from my experience I am a big dog lover, I am the type of person who walks into a gathering and immediately goes to spend time with the dog. For me it's not just a job, I enjoy spending time with dogs, playing with them keeping them active and giving them attention. Since I am a Uni student I do not see my dog often and I would love to be surrounded by them! I am a university student, we are currently on summer break, however I am taking a summer course from 11:00am - 1:30pm, Monday to Friday. I am free anytime after these hours and on weekends I can do earlier if needed. I live in a townhouse style apartment, It has a balcony on the back with two levels and a grass area on the bottom floor which is fenced. The apartment itself is not too small, there is a living area that is separated from the bedrooms. I believe there are no other dogs in the building.
About: For as long as I've remembered I've been around animals. I grew up with a yorkie named Paco and shortly after turning 5 I had the chance to help raise my next dog, a shih tzu named Pebbles who we got when she was 11 weeks old. I often cared for them by taking them on walks, giving them baths, feeding them, and overall giving them love and entertainment. In 2019 my family decided to get another dog after Paco passed away. This time we settled on a golden retriever, Terra. Now that I was older I was able to take full responsibility for her. I taught her all the tricks she knows. I'd take her out to swim and walk around the neighborhood. I'd even hand feed her and Pebbles when they would be super picky about their food. I'd also take care of my neighbors cat when she was away on vacation as well as feed the stray cat that often visited my backyard. Aside from cats and dogs I've had many other pets such as birds, hamsters, rabbits, turtles and more. Animals are a very important aspect in my life. My desire to care and love them is extremely strong. I currently have a flexible, mostly remote 9-to-5 job. Because I work from home, my daily routine revolves comfortably around pet care. I love taking breaks between my meetings to give pets some fresh air, a quick walk, or just a good scratch behind the ears. Before work, after work, and throughout the weekends, my schedule is wide open for longer adventures and dedicated playtime. Safety and open communication are my top priorities. When I am visiting or staying at a client's house, my goal is to keep the pet's routine as normal as possible so they feel secure. I always double check that doors, gates, and harnesses are completely secure before and after walks. I am highly respectful of the client's space and make sure to leave the home exactly as I found it. Because my daily schedule is very flexible, I can easily adapt to specific feeding routines or supervision needs. I also love sending plenty of photo updates so owners always have peace of mind!
About: As a dog walker, my specialty is to take pups out into nature. As I've been doing for 7+ years now, my service allows my dogs to grow and learn with each other amongst the sights and sounds of natural neighborhood trails. Offering socialization, training routines, in-depth interaction and lots of physical exercise, when I take dogs out to the trail I treat them as my own. I am typically active Tues-Thurs, with Monday and Friday being flexible. My walks/hikes are midday and offer my clients the opportunity to get their pup out during the work day for a thorough and holistic walking experience. For the service I offer, any pup that comes along quickly learns the rhythms of our activity. I've been described by friends as somewhat of a dog whisperer, and nothing brings me more joy than developing a mutual understanding between dogs wherein they get to have fun as long as they adhere to clearly established rules and modes of communication.
“Whitney is an excellent walker! Sully was immediately excited and eager to meet her and was clearly very happy after the walk. I’ve already booked a second walk with Whitney!”

About: I grew up on a farm in Baltimore County, so you could say I'm comfortable around many different kinds of animals. We always had dogs and cats growing up. Last year, my sweet 14-year-old Maltese passed away and I have been missing dog (and cat) interaction since. She needed bi-weekly allergy shots, which I administered. That being said, I am experienced in elderly animal care and know how to administer medicine (shots as well as oral medicine). I live in a house with a fenced in yard and I live a short distance from a dog-friendly park. I am a stay at home mom, so I available most times of the day (except during school drop off and pick up). At the moment, I only accept one dog for dog boarding at a time. *Drop off and pick up times are between 8 am and 10 pm. I also offer pet pick up and drop off for $5 each if you are unavailable between those times.* I am available weekdays from 9-3 to help with your fur baby. Please let me know what I can do to help your pup or cat! I have a fenced in yard for your pup to play in freely. I also have a cavalier puppy of my own that would love to play!

“Anastasiia is fantastic! She made sure my anxious dog a very nice sleepover!! She was very kind and caring and understanding of all my dog's needs. She even let Claudette take the best spot on the couch! Highly recommend!!”

“Erica was fantastic! My dog took a few days to adjust, and she was very patient and flexible with him. He came home happy and exhausted. She sent many updates and was flexible and kind with pick-up and drop-off times.”

“Karen took great care of our dog Henry. She was always quick to respond and was very flexible when our flight home was cancelled last minute. We will definitely be reaching out to Karen going forward. Five stars!”

“Laura was fantastic! Our German Shepherd received exceptional care from her. We appreciated the frequent updates that reassured us our pet was doing wonderfully. It's clear Laura genuinely cares. After 8 years of using Rover and trying many sitters, Laura stands out as the best. Thanks again, Laura, for taking great care of our girl!”

“I needed 5 hours of dog care for my newly rescued senior Pomeranian and I’m so grateful to have found Donna. Donna provided a calm and caring environment for my dog to feel comfortable and relaxed, and they took a 20 minute walk together. Thank you so much, Donna!”

“Mckinley took stellar care of Morrie! I can tell that he was very happy at her house and got lots of love and attention. I got lots of updates too, so I never had a chance to worry!”
