“My dog Tako was extremely well taken care of and I got frequent updates. Shanilka was very easy to communicate with and she was very flexible as my travel plans changed due to the weather. I will absolutely be using her again if I ever need!”
“Grateful again for Erin’s attention and loving care for my pupper. She is kind, positive in outlook, communicative, and reliable. There is no greater comfort than knowing my pup is in her very capable, thoughtful hands when I have to go out of town.”

“Faustine took such wonderful care of our pup! She provided frequent adorable updates and I could tell her was so at ease in her home. Would absolutely book with her again.”

“Evan and Megan were great sitters! They communicated well the entire time we were gone and sent us pics to keep us up to date on how our puppy was doing. Highly recommended.”

“Thank you very much! Maddy had a good stay with Chad. He assured me that she was fine with many photos, which were so appreciated. He also assured me she was eating/ drinking.”

“I genuinely cannot recommend McKinley enough! She is the sweetest, kindest, and most thoughtful sitter I could have ever asked for. From the moment I dropped Hamilton off, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such amazing hands. She sent me daily photos and checked in throughout the day with updates on everything he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I’ve honestly never seen Hamilton happier. He looked so comfortable, loved, and genuinely excited to be there, I think he was actually a little sad to leave, lol. It was so obvious that McKinley treated him like he was her own, and that meant the world to me. If you’re looking for someone who will truly care for your pet, keep you updated, and go above and beyond, McKinley is the person to book. I would trust her with Hamilton again in a heartbeat and will absolutely be using her in the future. I would 1000% recommend her to anyone looking for the best possible care for their pet!”

“I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Edward and Natalia. We had a meet and greet a week prior where they asked a lot of questions and observed Ralphie with their sweet pup, Liz Lemon. I always worry leaving Ralphie with a new Rover. He has been described as “extra” and needs a lot of attention/human presence. Within an hour of dropping him off, I got a note that he is settling in fine with a picture of him cozied up with the family and this eased my mind immensely. They were very responsive when I reached out and had everything ready to go when I picked him up. The biggest testament, however, is Ralphie’s behavior on the drive home. If let’s me know if he didn’t like his stay somewhere, but leaving Natalia and Edward he was calm and well behaved. They deserve this 5-star review and j would recommend them to my friends and family without hesitation.”

“Anne Marie took such great care of Danny, she was patient and kind to him as a senior dog and just loved on him! I will definitely be asking Anne Marie to care for him again when I need it.”
“Erica Joy was a wonderful caring sitter for our 6 year old Beagle/lab mix. She gave him plenty of activities, walks and love- took really good care. She also sent us daily videos and updates of Pepper.”

“Colleen took wonderful care of our cockapoo for 3 days. She sent photos several times and provided photos. She also was able to give some eyedrops several times per day that our dog required. My dog seemed content and well cared for. Thank you.”

“Christian was so good with my pup. He took to her immediately and based on the photos and videos he enjoyed his time with her. Christian was very responsive especially with me being a bit nervous about about my lil guy being cared for by someone new.”

“Alejandro is a wonderful sitter. He was the perfect companion for our timid, finicky miss Maddie. Maddie has a tough time eating and Alejandro was patient and worked with her to make her comfortable enough to eat. He sent wonderful pictures and communicated well while we were away. We we sure she was in good hands and enjoyed our vacation worry free. She was in great spirits when we picked her up and we could tell she enjoyed her stay. We will definitely contact Alejandro again whenever we need a sitter.”

“Diana and her family are amazing! They were so loving towards my dog, sent updates/pictures, and were flexible with my travel plans. I would happily book with them again. 😍”

“I really appreciated Hayden's availability for an extended stay with my dog Cora. They were very easy to communicate and plan with. Very calm which showed in their own dog as well as my dogs calmness and good mood on pickup. I have a very shy chow chow and Haydenn handled her very well.”

“Based on the photos of her sprawled out and lounging around their home, our 12-year-old pup was very comfortable in Austin & Majid's care! They were kind, professional, and communicative throughout our time away.”

“Michael was the best dog sitter we’ve ever had! Cannot recommend enough. We were looking for someone who would exercise our dog and we truly found it. We came home from a trip to a happy, tired dog. Lots of pictures and videos and we could tell he was genuinely cared for as if he were Michael’s own dog.”

“I've booked with Julia a few times now and always have a great experience. She spends lots of time with my dog and sends lots of photos. She has multiple spaces so she can group dogs by energy level and individualize your dogs experience. I love that my dog gets to socialize with another chihuahua, without being overwhelmed by higher energy dogs. And she has a great yard for the dogs to sniff around.”

“Kyle was such a wonderful sitter for my pup over the long weekend! Ringo was well taken care of, socializing with his dogs, and I received daily updates and pictures. It was a wonderful, calm environment.”

“Christine is always my go-to for any short or long term boarding for Oreo! She was flexible with the late pick up time that I had set and also provided updates on how Oreo was doing throughout the days he was with her. I love how there are sometimes other dogs she is taking care of so Oreo has a chance to socialize and play while I am away. Thank you again to Christine!”

“Evan is the best! We highly recommend. Our cat was having some digestive issues and Evan went above and beyond. He bathed our cat, wiped him down when needed, brushed him, and cleaned up after him when he had accidents. Evan gave us peace of mind while we were away. We’ll definitely be booking with him again.”

“Luisa was amazing with our cat, George! She was attentive, loving, and sent us lots of pictures while we were on our trip! He needed special care because he needs to be given oral medicine every day, and she was great about it! I would definitely book her again for future trips!”

“Ashley was once again amazing with my cat. Her updates are so thoughtful and fun, which makes me so reassured and comfortable leaving my cat’s in her capable hands. This is the fourth or so time she’s cared for her and every time my cat gets more and more comfortable with her. I love it. She is the best!!”

“Rachel is fantastic! Punctual and communicative, plus you can tell she really connects with animals. I rebooked Rachel for another check-in almost immediately - when you've found a good Rover, you can tell, and Rachel is certainly top tier. Thanks Rachel!”

“Daria is the best! She is so communicative and it’s clear from the pictures that my cat is totally comfortable with her. It’s always hard to leave your furbaby to travel, but I never worry about how she’s doing when she’s under Daria’s care!”

About: PLEASE NOTE: Please book for one hour visits for cats. I have learned that the type of care and attention (and scritches) I give to cats require a minimum of a one hour visit at a time. I've taken care of my cousin's cats, along with friend's cats. While I cannot administer medication, I will provide them with food (before they knock everything over!), fresh water, empty their litter, and play with them until they are ready for their alone time. The most important priority for me before I leave is to ensure that your cat is fulfilled both physically (food/water/litter/play time) and emotionally (love/attention/pets).

“Brittani was great with my cats and in providing information and photos when she visited. Best thing? When we returned there was no indication or presents left for us that they were unhappy :) And while they were happy to see us they were not desperate for attention. Professional and easy to deal with.”

“Julianna was so sweet to our cat Spencer! She provided us with regular updates and photos, and even went as far as cleaning up his various mishaps. We would absolutely use her again!”

About: I’ve had cats in my home for the last 5 years. I’ve raised a cat from kittenhood, dealt with various medical issues, administered medication, and taken care of senior cats. My cats are my world I will treat your cats with the same care as my own!
“Sydney was very good at taking care of our two cats even though we had a more challenging situation then ever expected. One of our cats who is more skiddish disappeared. But Syndey located her and set her up with a safe space in our home where she could comfortably have access to food, water and her litter box. Sydney was very good at communicating at every step of the way and helped to find a solution.”

“Jesica has always been great during our repeat bookings to check in on our two cats. This last trip we didn’t set up one automatic feeder properly, and Jesica tried her best to troubleshoot. We really appreciate her open communication and great pictures of our cats!”

“Victoria was amazing!! She was very communicative with me regarding our girl who had a small cold and was even able to wipe her eye even though she’s very weary of people. She even went above and beyond by vacuuming up a little! I could not recommend Victoria enough. We’re definitely going to be using her as our sitter going forward!”

“Shanilka was super responsive and understanding of my dog's needs!! She was very kind and prompt with pick up and drop off so I didn't have to wait long in the cold. Highly recommend!!”

“Grette was super with our little pup for Doggy Day Care -- she knows just what your pup needs and she took our very active 6 month old pup for a long walk so he was really chill when he came home.”

About: 👋 I’ve had dogs and taken care of them since I was a child. I’ve owned an Airedale terrier, a pug, a Russian terrier, and my family currently has a Japanese spitz and a toy terrier. I have lots of experience - I have adopted a doggie from a shelter before, and I’ve also raised my two pups from 3 months old until they passed a few months ago at ages 14 and 16. Prior to registering on Rover I’ve boarded dogs - I looked after a friend’s pug for a week, a family friend’s elderly golden retriever, and fostered a stray my sister and I rescued from the street before someone adopted her. I’ve taken road trips with multiple pets, and flown across the country with 3 of my dogs, I’ve taken them to all sorts of vet appointments, and been with them through all stages of their lives. ♥️ I’m on this platform looking for company to heal from losing my furry friends - the pain of it shook me to my core, I loved them so much, they were my family members (you know how it is). Being around dogs brings me peace and joy. I am a performing artist and I travel a lot for concerts, so having my own pet is unfortunately not feasible at the moment, hence I decided that taking care of someone else’s furry babies while I’m home between performances is the second best thing:) You can rest assured that I’ll take great pleasure in looking after them and having them in my home. 🏡 I work from home during the day and I am home from evening until morning, too. I do however step out for errands and appointments. Your dog will be with me most of the time while staying in my home, walked 2-3 times and fed on schedule, but should be comfortable being on its own for 2-3 hours max, if I have things to do. ❗️If your pup has severe separation anxiety and is unable to be alone at all, I can accommodate that with enough notice and for 2x my normal nightly rate. 🐶 I’ve always let my dogs run free around the house and made a safe space for them where they liked, but I did crate my rescue doggie when he first arrived to slowly acclimate him to the new place. Whatever you prefer for your dog is fine by me and I’m happy to accommodate. I don’t have a yard, but I have plenty of green areas nearby where I’d walk your furry pal. I keep my dogs on leash at all times. I steer clear of other dogs by default when I’m walking your dog, so whether they’re leash reactive or not, I err on the side of caution 100% of the time. 🐕 I like training doggies and playing with them to give them some mental stimulation, but if they prefer to chill and not be bothered I’m cool with that as well ❗️I’m not looking to scale this as a business and not looking for a potentially unsafe situation, so I’m always only caring for 1 dog at a time, unless both dogs are from the same owner and are part of the same booking.

“Lee was incredible with Edith. She handled her slight anxiety like a pro and was flexible when we needed to shift our timing a little. We'll definitely be booking with Lee again.”

“Michael took great care of my boy! Lots of play and attention; he came home tired out in the best way. Even gave him a brushing! He was also willing to be flexible with my uncertain timing, which was much appreciated. I would book with him again, no question.”

“Diana is a kind soul and an amazing host for my puppy. She’s been very helpful with potty training and always makes sure everything feels safe and comfortable. Her adorable dog, Charlie, is super chill and friendly, which makes the environment even better. Diana is flexible, responsive, and you can feel her genuine passion for caring for animals. We’re already asking her to set up regular visits because we trust her completely. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

“I highly recommend Ayah! She is super communicative and cares so much about Louie. They went on long walks and played in the dog park. Ayah is very flexible with drop off and pick up times, and kept me updated throughout the day on how Louie was doing. Louie can’t wait to go back soon!”

“Juliet was very accommodating to my work schedule. She kept me informed with pictures and how Remi was doing throughout the day. She is caring, kind and sweet and will make sure your pup is taken great care of.”

“Caleb was absolutely fantastic with my pup Avi, who, at 15, is very sweet but can be a bit stubborn. But he took to Caleb immediately, following behind him with his tail a-wagging! In addition to being so great with my dog, Caleb was incredibly responsive, polite, and had great energy.”

About: I have loved animals all my life and grew up surrounded by cats, so caring for pets comes naturally to me. I have a calm and positive energy that helps me connect with animals, and I enjoy playing with them as much as keeping them safe and comfortable. I’m patient, caring, and responsible, always paying attention to each pet’s unique needs. In my free time, I enjoy reading, which also means I’m happy to spend quiet moments with pets who like calm company. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, which allows me to manage my time easily and dedicate attention to pet care. This way, I can adapt my routine around the pets’ needs, whether it’s playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company. I have experience caring for dogs in the home of friends and family, and I naturally connect with animals. I pay close attention to their needs, whether they want affection, playtime, or simply some space to relax. I always make sure pets feel safe and comfortable, keeping their routines consistent and giving them plenty of love and care.

About: I am a pet lover. I grew up in a home with many pets including dogs and cats and have always had a special connection to animals. I love going on long walks and heading to the dog park when the weather is nice. I am here to help you care for your pet the best way possible. I'll always listen to special instructions and will show your pet the love and attention as if they were my own. I am in the office two days a week, Tuesdays and a flex day. I can't wait to meet your fur baby! **I cannot accept pets that get into plants as I have a few not pet safe plants at home** I work from home 3 days a week and am home most weekends! I too Iove middle of the day walks and all day hangs! I am in a pet friendly building that is super close to Rock Creek for longer walks. My home is child free, and smoke free. I do have a senior beagle mix I adopted from a family member who could not bring him with for an overseas move who is a full time pet at the home.

About: I treat every pet as if they were my own. As a previous dedicated dog owner ourselves (we recently lost our German shepherd) I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. Your pet won’t just receive food, water, and walks, they’ll get attention, affection, playtime, and a comfortable home environment where they can feel safe and loved. I know how much peace of mind matters when you’re away, so I provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication throughout your pet’s stay. My goal is simple: for your pet to have such a great time that they’re excited to come back for their next visit. I currently work from home full time and my husband and I are also generally home during the weekends as well! We have a ton of time to Pets in our home are treated like family. We follow their normal routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks (as energy permits), playtime, medications, and any other special instructions. Whether your pet loves playing, exploring, or curling up for a nap, we make sure they receive the care and companionship they need while you’re away.

“Elliot just started walking Buddy and I can’t say enough nice things. Elliot is very responsible, shares information about their time together and Buddy liked Elliot from the jump!”

About: I’ve grown up with rescue dogs my entire life. They’ve taught me how to be patient and understanding when it comes to dogs being in new surroundings with new people. Dogs have trauma, reactions, and behaviors similar to humans, but just expressed differently. My own dog is reactive (leash/towards other dogs), so I have learned techniques to lessen her fears. She— along with other dogs that have been around me— have made me an adaptable dog person who will help your dog feel comfortable and supported while you’re not around. Hi, I’m Barbie! I’ve grown up with 45-65lb rescue dogs my entire life. While I have a soft spot for bigger dogs and bully breeds (the more misunderstood in media, the more I love them), I adore animals of absolutely every shape, size, and species, and have experience with dogs of all ages/sizes (limited experience with seniors, but would love opportunities to increase my professional experience). My greatest (and favorite) teacher is my own Malinois/Lab mix rescue, Padfoot—an intelligent, high-energy, and dog/leash-reactive fur baby. Because of her, I am fully equipped, patient, and hyper-vigilant when handling dog/leash-reactive/energetic dogs. Whether your dog pulls, barks, or just needs extra personal space (and positive reinforcement)) on a walk, I know how to keep both of us safe and stress-free. I promise to treat your dog(s) with the same passion, love, advocacy, and care, that I give Paggy. If you want a highly reliable and sitter who understands canine body language and deeply respects your dog's unique quirks, let's connect! In the effort to be fully transparent, I’m currently searching for a full-time job. However, I’m here to build genuine, lasting relationships! I fully intend to continue any walking/day-sitting needed on a part-time basis. I can stay at your home for 2-3 hours at a time (multiple times during the day) and walk your dogs one at a time. While I am SO excited for the opportunity to walk 100lb+ dogs, I can only safely walk gentle giants that do not pull. If you have a yard, I will supplement any high-energy dog with enrichment activities and plenty of fetch. I cannot dog sit overnight since I have my own fur baby.
“Larissa took such great care of our dog. She’s a great communicator and took the time to get to know our boy and his needs. He loved spending time with her. I would highly recommend Larissa to anyone!”

About: I have raised three dogs through puppyhood, adulthood, and seniorhood (a pointer/border collie mix, Weimaraner/greyhound mix, and a Westie). I have been trained in puppy obedience and clicker training and pride myself on being able to work with any dog-- from anxious, temperamental pups, to rowdy balls of energy, to silly couch potatoes-- I am here to keep your fur baby happy, healthy, and safe in your absence. In addition to my own dogs, I have had the privilege of caring for countless other friends' and neighbors' dogs and cats, and since moving to DC from California have been volunteering at the Humane Rescue Alliance shelter as a sensitivity-minded dog walker and enrichment provider as well as a cat care provider. I love all animals and am happy to help! I am currently a full time graduate student with a very flexible schedule and available to accommodate pet check ins, walks, and additional responsibilities within my class schedule. Depending on the dog's behavior, medical history, and location I work to minimize risks to the pet's safety and remain alert and attentive to the dog's body language as well as our surroundings, regardless of whether we are outside or inside.
“Justin was wonderful! He sent check-in each time he walked and fed our dog Juni, and he clearly enjoyed spending time with her. We were happy to know he’s walked a few of our neighbors’ dogs too, so he was very comfortable with the neighborhood. I will definitely be hiring him again!”

“Genevieve is amazing with our dog Louis!! She is super friendly, responsive, and always on time, and she provides helpful details in her reports on every walk. Our dog is BEYOND excited to see her every time she comes to pick him up, which is always the best sign. We highly recommend Genevieve to anyone looking for a dog walker in the area.”

About: Hi everyone, My name is Rachel and I am a huge animal lover who is passionate about providing the best care and companionship for our furry friends. I have been pet sitting for close to 7 years now, through Wag and also with Rover. Experience in administering medicine for both cats and dogs and currently in process to be First Aid certified for pets as well! (As of July 2025) I grew up with animals, as I had taken care of my own dog-Misia, a coackapoo, for 10 years and my mother with her Havanese dog, Tomo, of 4 years (and on-going!) I lead an active lifestyle and take dogs out for a long walk or find fun ways to play with cats too. I want to make sure I can provide a tailored approach to make sure your pets' needs are met as a photo enthusiast, happy to take pictures and provide an update throughout a boarding and/or a sitting especially. Coming up close to 7 years of being a pet sitter for Wag, Rover and individual clients, I would be honored to be your reliable pet sitter! Currently my schedule is very open and flexible. I can accommodate a boarding at my apartment, as well as pet sitting/drop-in visits, as well for all days of the week. *Note for Boarding requests* I have another 4-year old Havanese dog (very friendly) at my apartment. Happy to have another dog for boarding but please read this note before booking a boarding request!** Thank you 😊 First and foremost what's important is that I understand the client's needs and their instructions on how to take care of their pets. Once you book my service, I would be more than happy to do an in-person meet and greet or a video call. If there are any further instructions (beyond what is listed on the Rover app), then I am happy to provide my personal email address if you would like to e-mail the instructions. These are the steps I take to ensure I can take care of the clients' pets in a safe and trusting environment.

“Juliana has been absolutely wonderful! We hired her to walk our dog (Merlin) while we were visiting family for the holidays in the Chevy Chase area, and we could not imagine a better experience! She was attentive and caring with our 2 year old (high energy) pup, and she communicated very well with us about scheduling and about how Merlin did on his walks. Juliana was also incredibly helpful to us, with her willingness to adjust Merlin’s schedule to fit our evolving vacation plans. We consider ourselves lucky to have discovered Juliana and will definitely look her up again the next time we come for a visit 😁”

“Catherine was great with Luna! To begin with, she was very easy to reach and very communicative. She is very reliable and really took care of Luna and sent me pictures daily! Highly recommend Catherine!”

“Erica Joy was a wonderful caring sitter for our 6 year old Beagle/lab mix. She gave him plenty of activities, walks and love- took really good care. She also sent us daily videos and updates of Pepper.”

“Christian was so good with my pup. He took to her immediately and based on the photos and videos he enjoyed his time with her. Christian was very responsive especially with me being a bit nervous about about my lil guy being cared for by someone new.”
