My dog is very anxious and is usually scared of new people but she warmed up to Diana as soon as she met her. About: 👋 I’ve had dogs and taken care of them since I was a child. I’ve owned an Airedale terrier, a pug, a Russian terrier, and my family currently has a Japanese spitz and a toy terrier. I have lots of experience - I have adopted a doggie from a shelter before, and I’ve also raised my two pups from 3 months old until they passed a few months ago at ages 14 and 16. Prior to registering on Rover I’d boarded dogs - I looked after a friend’s pug for a week, a family friend’s elderly golden retriever, and fostered a stray my sister and I rescued from the street before someone adopted her. I’ve taken road trips with multiple pets, and flown across the country with 3 of my dogs, I’ve taken them to all sorts of vet appointments, and been with them through all stages of their lives. ♥️ I’m on this platform looking for company to heal from losing my furry friends - the pain of it shook me to my core, I loved them so much, they were my family members (you know how it is). Being around dogs brings me peace and joy. I am a performing artist and I travel a lot for concerts, so having my own pet is unfortunately not feasible at the moment, hence I decided that taking care of someone else’s furry babies while I’m home between performances is the second best thing:) You can rest assured that I’ll take great pleasure in looking after them and having them in my home. 🏡 I work from home during the day and I am home from evening until morning, too. I do however step out for errands and appointments. Your dog will be with me most of the time while staying in my home, walked 2-3 times and fed on schedule, but should be comfortable being on its own for 2-3 hours max, if I have things to do. ❗️If your pup has severe separation anxiety and is unable to be alone at all, I can accommodate that with enough notice and for 2x my normal nightly rate. 🐶 I’ve always let my dogs run free around the house and made a safe space for them where they liked, but I did crate my rescue doggie when he first arrived to slowly acclimate him to the new place. Whatever you prefer for your dog is fine by me and I’m happy to accommodate. I don’t have a yard, but I have plenty of green areas nearby where I’d walk your furry pal. I keep my dogs on leash at all times. I steer clear of other dogs by default when I’m walking your dog, so whether they’re leash reactive or not, I err on the side of caution 100% of the time. 🐕 I like training doggies and playing with them to give them some mental stimulation, but if they prefer to chill and not be bothered I’m cool with that as well ❗️I’m not looking to scale this as a business and not looking for a potentially unsafe situation, so I’m always only caring for 1 dog at a time, unless both dogs are from the same owner and are part of the same booking.

About: I'm the woman taking an evening walk and asking if I can say Hi! to your dog. Two dogs - one as a child, the second 35 years later - were among the most important relationships of my life. No offence to family and friends. The second was a Black Lab and taking him on his evening walk in a local park in Moscow was the best part of every day. I'm retired and walk for pleasure anyhow. I am the servant of Dasha, a rescue cat with more personality than good sense, who is willing to let me spend nights away to take care of your beloved dog or cat. Friends and family have already benefited from my "service" - and now you can too. I'm retired, with a schedule that is my own to make. I'm only looking for Rover duties in the 20814 and nearby zip codes that I can get to easily and quickly. Daily activities include daily walks and almost daily lap swimming, lots of reading, too much scrolling, and occasional editing and writing gigs. Oh, and playing with my cat Dasha. When staying over for your dog, I'd live at your place and visit Dasha for a few hours daily, as well as go out for errands and laps at the Y pool. I expect dogs to need attention and I'll give it. Though we lived in an apartment in Moscow, our Black Lab Jasper enjoyed the life of Riley, with walks at nearby parks. Most of the day he spent following us from room to room, positioning himself strategically so he always could see one of us at all times. Cats, of course, are different; I wait for Dasha to emerge from wherever she's "hiding" to let me know when she wants to be played with, brushed, petted. If this is your pet - great. If not, I'll adapt to that, too!

She sent me daily photos and checked in throughout the day with updates on everything he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I’ve honestly never seen Hamilton happier. He looked so comfortable, loved, and genuinely excited to be there, I think he was actually a little sad to leave, lol. It was so obvious that McKinley treated him like he was her own, and that meant the world to me. If you’re looking for someone who will truly care for your pet, keep you updated, and go above and beyond, McKinley is the person to book. I would trust her with Hamilton again in a heartbeat and will absolutely be using her in the future. I would 1000% recommend her to anyone looking for the best possible care for their pet!”
