“Kevin took great care of Shohei and earned Shohei’s trust quickly! He ensured Shohei got good walks even in the cold. Kevin was very communicative with updates and was kind enough to put away our Butcher Box food delivery. Thank you!”

“We are so fortunate to have found Vitali! If you want to go on vacation and not have to worry about your pets plotting your demise, hire Vitali B! Great communication and our kitties were so relaxed upon our return that they barely noticed us when we walked in to the house. Meow.....”

“Noah is fantastic! He dog sat for us for over two weeks and we came home to a very happy dog and spotless apartment. He was communicative the entire time (sent a picture and text update each day) and was event able to accommodate a last minute additional day when we weren’t able to get home the day we originally planned. Highly recommend Noah and will be booking again!”

“Toni was gentle with Zadie and Zadie loved her right away. Toni was in communication regularly during my trip and took excellent care of Zadie. Zadie seemed sad when I got home from my trip, I think she missed Toni.”

“Michaela watched our nervous chihuahua while we were in town. She was great with our dog, sent lots of pictures and was great to work with. We will be using her again!”

“Karachi was great! She watched our exuberant 2 year old, 50 pound dog Luna for a week; she was reliable, dependable, and took great care of our girl. She sent us pics every day and told us how Luna was doing. She went the extra mile to come and meet with Luna before we left so Luna would be more familiar with her. She is very responsive; always answered texts immediately and kept us apprised of things. She was a perfect guest; the house was in immaculate condition when we came home. I would definitely hire her again to watch our dog. Luna seemed happy and she got the walks she needed. Karachi is a mature, poised, caring and dependable dog sitter.”

“Omar was so thoughtful, sending us photos of our pup on a daily basis. He did a meet and greet with her/us to make sure everyone was comfortable before the actual sitting dates. Our dog took to him very easily and we were immediately reassured all would be fine while we were gone. He was very responsive to our questions and took care of our house as well, ensuring mail/packages we received were brought in and stored. Would definitely recommend using him/them for your needs.”

“Wayne was responsive, communicative, and followed all of the care instructions we provided. He proved to be responsible, attentive, and genuinely caring. Our dog, a former rescue with anxiety who typically takes time to warm up to new people, quickly became comfortable with Wayne and clearly enjoyed spending time with him. I recommend his services and would gladly use him again for dog sitting.”
“Sharon did an amazing job with Wrigley! She sent updates with out an asking along with great photos. She left my mace cleaner than she found it. She also left a nice little package for Wrigley when she left including some great photos and a very sweet card! I highly recommend Sharon and will definitely use again.”

“We were VERY pleased with Jony. It was a last minute booking for an unexpected trip. He came to meet our dog and go over house/animal instructions beforehand. When he stayed at our house he left it cleaner than when he arrived! He took excellent care of our 10 yr old rescue German Shepherd and our chinchilla. Communication was excellent. We will definitely book with him again.”

“Jenny stayed in our home again while we were away, and she was wonderful! We have complete peace of mind knowing our dogs are happy and well cared for with her. Jenny is reliable, caring, and someone we completely trust. We’re so grateful to have found her!”

“Kayly bonded with our animals so quickly and helped us feel at ease with leaving our older animals at home. Her communication was frequent which we loved! Highly recommend Kayly!”
“Monica stayed with our two older dogs for a week. She did a great job caring for them and looking after the house. The house was clean and orderly when we arrived home. I would definitely ask her to pet sit again!”

About: Hi, I’m Elysia! Nice to meet you! I’m new to Rover, but not to taking care of pets! I’m a recent college biology graduate preparing for medical school and I’ve been taking care of my neighbor’s pets since I was in middle school. I have years of experience taking care of both dogs and cats (young & old & many different breeds) for multiple days, including overnight sitting and of course, drop-ins and going on walks! I would love to be your next sitter and your pet’s new friend!! I’m currently in an accelerated graduate program, so my weekday schedule can be busy. I’m generally available for early-morning walks and overnight stays, with more flexibility on weekends! I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe and loved while you are away! I will treat them like family, follow their usual routine, respect your home, and send regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease!
“Malek took care of our anxious dog during an extended trip out of state. He made a very good contact with our dog and kept me informed about how they were doing. Malek stayed at our house during the sit. Overall, I had peace of mind while traveling and I highly recommend Malek.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Huntington Terrace
We never had to worry about how our golden was doing on our 2 week long trip. I really appreciated the updates and pictures Jessica sent every day. You can tell she really loves animals and is trustworthy, responsible and goes above and beyond! I will definitely reach out to her in the future whenever we need an in-home dog sitter!

This was the first time Kevin stayed at our house and took care of our two lab mix doggies. They were very excited to greet him and everything went smoothly during the 2 nights we were away. We really appreciated getting photos of our pups and knowing they were in good hands. We will definitely try to schedule with Kevin the next time we have a trip planned.
Vitali B is the best Pet & Home Sitter we have ever hired. He's responsible, trustworthy, and our pets love having him around. How do we know this? When we return they are unphased by our presence. I think they actually miss Vitali! We are very lucky to find Vitali. You will be too. Send him an email. He is communicative and reliable. You're pets are in good hands w Vitali. And so is your home.

Ashira is just wonderful. My 13 year old blind dog isn’t always keen on new people - but the moment Ashira walked in the door, Tracker went right to her! Tracker has special needs with respect to walking and medication and Ashira handled that all perfectly. Tracker was happy and so well cared for it has really eased our mind about going away and we will be booking with Ashira again! Also, my house was cleaner than when I left it!

Annah and Meara were the best! In a stroke of good luck, they were available last minute, came right away for a meet and greet, and were punctual, responsive, considerate, and great with our dogs. Trying to figure out if I can book them now for the next five years… highly HIGHLY recommend! They allowed us to relax and actually enjoy our trip because we had total peace of mind that good people were watching and caring for our pets.
Sydney did a great job taking care of our somewhat rambunctiousdog. She was a strong communicator and sent lots of photos and updates. I felt very confident that Pink was being well taken care of. She also took great care of things around the house. I would definitely rebook with Sydney in the future.

Allison is the perfect dog sitter! She was wonderful and kind with our dog Blaze, taking him for long walks and taking very good care for him, while also being excellent with communication and looking after our house perfectly. We will definitely use her again and would highly recommend her. Thanks so much!

Summar is warm, patient, and clearly a natural with animals. She understood our sometimes quirky dog, sent regular updates and photos, and handled everything with calm, reliable confidence including when our alarm randomly went off and the housekeepers showed up unexpectedly (she also speaks Spanish!). We never once worried while she was with Oz and we will be asking her back again and again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, loving sitter.

Pam took very good care of our two cats. Unfortunately our rambunctiou 10-month old kitten injured his leg (not her fault) shortly after we left for two weeks and she ended up taking him to the vet twice, administering his meds, and looking after him while he was confined to one room on vet's orders to help him heal. Through it all she was very caring and concerned and kept us fully informed on what was going on. Knowing she had trained as a vet tech reassured us that the cats were in good hands and let us enjoy the rest of our vacation.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Huntington Terrace walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Huntington Terrace maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Huntington Terrace choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Huntington Terrace. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
