About: I grew up surrounded by dogs — they've always been family to me, not just pets. Now I live with my boyfriend in a cozy 2-bedroom apartment in Rockville with a fenced yard downstairs and dog parks just steps away. It's a very pet-friendly neighborhood. I work from home full-time, which means your pup will have a real companion by their side throughout the day, not just a sitter who checks in. I have a 10-month shiba inu girl named Bagel who has been nice to all dogs we've met. I'm drawn to small and medium-sized dogs and puppies. I know how much trust it takes to hand over your furry family member, and I take that seriously. My goal is simple: give your dog the warmth, care, and belly rubs they deserve — and make sure they're smiling (and wagging) when you come back to pick them up. 🐶 I work from home full-time, so I'm available throughout the day to give your dog plenty of attention, playtime, and bathroom breaks. I can be flexible on timing — just let me know what works best for you. My place is perfect for safe outdoor time. I'm attentive and will always keep a close eye on your dog. Dog parks are nearby for extra exercise, and I'm happy to discuss any preferences or boundaries ahead of time.
“Sasha and her team are Amazing! I booked my pup because my hubby and I were going out of town. We didn't expect the trip to take as long as it did. Sasha and team were super accommodating and we were able to rebook our pup for an overnight stay. You guys are so awesome and my husband and I really appreciate the amazing job you do taking care of Bentley ❤”

“Rachel and Maz hung out with Auggie while we toured Philadelphia for the day, and he was exhausted and happy when we picked him up! Thanks again!”

About: I’ve cared for many of my own dogs & dogs of friends, gf’s, etc. since the late 1980s. I’m a long time dog owner and dog lover, who is also a professional and former small business owner - who is mature, responsible, and serious. On the professional side, I have a combination of organizational/business management and basic sales/marketing & customer service training. I own a single family home with a large yard. My “main job” is in tech and I work from home nearly every day. I’m minutes away from a large park as well. The pets (and people) under my care receive a lot of loving attention in a safe, higher end neighborhood. I have a fenced yard backing up to a very serene, wooded/natural setting with tons of trees. If needed, my home has specific crates/cages and multiple rooms, depending on what the circumstances require. However, usually most pets are allowed to roam freely throughout most of the house and yard, as long as they do not conflict with or disrupt others.
“Shanilka was super responsive and understanding of my dog's needs!! She was very kind and prompt with pick up and drop off so I didn't have to wait long in the cold. Highly recommend!!”

“Our Hogan (mini goldendoodle; ~ 2years old) had a great stay at Avi's. Her house has a large fenced backyard; there were a few other dogs that Hogan played with and Avi sent updates/pictures throughout the day. I would definitely recommend, and will look to have Hogan back here next time.”

About: You name it, I probably have lovingly done it. From medical care, giving shots, playing, training, elder pet care, cleaning ears, wiping paws, giving baths, walking and playing with super high energy pets, etc., I can handle it. I specialize in anxious dogs. I get that there is a formula for making them feel safe and I can follow it to a T, plus I have a lot of tools and tricks. I also specialize in elder care of pets. Beyond medical needs which I am comfortable doing, I also have tons of ways of engaging elders pets that can no longer play nor walk like they used. I am loving, lead with empathy, and NEVER strike nor yell at a pet. That should go without saying, but I like to be very clear. I can assert leadership for pets that need it. I can handle any size pet and I get that each pet has their own needs, so don't worry if your dog has a long list of things they cannot do or a list of needs. I get it! I am currently working part time from home and my breaks and hours are flexible, so I am always available. Very occasionally I work outside the home for no more than 5 hours at a time. I care for pets in my home and at their home as well. I have a big back yard that is fenced in on all sides. I go outside with the pets most of the time and engage and play with them. I don't just let them out. There are 2 people parks near my home (one well shaded and great for hot summer days) that are great for walking to. I find dogs like to people watching too. I think giving pups time to sniffy snoop around is important. I even have a backpack with a mesh screen "window" for a cat as some cats love walks. In your home, I follow their routine to give them a sense of security, play, train, and introduce new toys and tricks if your pup is up for that. With cats I can read their cute little faces pretty well and give them what they want: play, pets, scratches, and/or, for example, introduce them to new smells to engage their minds.
“Felisa gave Pearl excellent day care in her home on a holiday weekend. My dog loves to be outdoors and she had the opportunity to play in the backyard and to take long walks.”

Even though it ultimately didn’t work out on my pups end, he had a blast playing in her beautiful fenced backyard & with all of her pups! Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Bethesda
Always amazing! Our hound has boarded with Sasha and enjoyed doggy daycare several times. We often come in with last minute requests and Sasha always accommodates us. May comes home happy and tired! The place is a fortress, so I feel comfortable each time knowing that May is safe. The staff are friendly and caring. Communication is impeccable and speedy. We’re so fortunate to have found Sasha.

I needed a last minute sitter for my 3month puppy and Nurit was super fast at responding! I had a lot of anxiety leaving such a young puppy with someone but Nurit was amazing! She took my puppy on a long walk and even did some command work with him. I will definitely be reaching back out whenever I am in need of a dog sitter!

Chuy seemed to have a wonderful time at his evening with Oyindamola! When I picked him up he looked so happy and said goodbye to her at least 3 times. 😊 She was very kind and helped him feel comfortable when he was a little nervous at first. I highly recommend!

Diana is a kind soul and an amazing host for my puppy. She’s been very helpful with potty training and always makes sure everything feels safe and comfortable. Her adorable dog, Charlie, is super chill and friendly, which makes the environment even better. Diana is flexible, responsive, and you can feel her genuine passion for caring for animals. We’re already asking her to set up regular visits because we trust her completely. I couldn’t recommend her more!

Jemma enjoyed her time with Carlos and Travis. I can always tell by how well she sleeps when she comes home. They made sure she had plenty of backyard play and indoor rest. When I needed to adjust my pickup time, they graciously accommodated and communicated well with me. I appreciate them caring for my fur baby!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
