Active retiree loving all animals.
I'm a retiree who cannot imagine life without animals. For 35 years, I shared my house with many rescue dogs and kitties. My last "pack" consisted of three dogs and one cat. What I find interesting in animals is that each of them, no matter the breed, has a different personality and character, just like people. Unfortunately, all my pets died of old age over three years ago and I'm alone for the first time in my life. Since I'm not ready to adopt more animals right now, in October 2023 I decided to become a pet sitter on Rover to have steady contact with all kind of pets. I believe in rescuing animals not buying them and I'm an active volunteer for the Mid Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue. I've read many books and articles about dogs, watched videos, and attended dog seminars by Susanne Clothier and Cesar Milan. I continue my education about dogs and I didn't yet meet a dog which I couldn't understand and get along with. If you leave your fur babies with me, they will be loved, well taken care of, happy and safe.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Helena the care Emilie and Bruno received while we were in Italy. From the very beginning, I felt completely at ease leaving them with someone I trusted to love and care for them as if they were her own. She sent frequent photos and updates, which gave me such peace of mind while we were away. It truly felt like a lifelong friend was staying with my kids. She also took exceptional care of our home, bringing in the mail, watering, and handling every little detail without our having to worry about a thing. At the end of her stay, she coordinated with my mother to ensure a smooth and seamless handoff. Everything went perfectly, and Helena was an absolute delight to work with. I returned home to two happy, well-loved dogs and a beautifully cared-for home. I would trust her with Emilie and Bruno again without hesitation and recommend her wholeheartedly!
We are so grateful to have found Helena. She genuinely loves all dogs. She's fantastic at taking care of our girl Molly, with lots of treats and toys in addition to walks and fetch. This is our third time having Helena watch our dogs and once again she did a phenomenal job! We came home to two happy pups! She especially does such a great job with our chihuahua mix who is picky and anxious but is always very happy with Helena watching her.

Schedule
Pets were always a very important part of my life and my daily schedule revolved around their needs. Now, when I'm retired and mostly stay home, I have a lot of time for your pet. Even when sometimes I will have to leave home to do some chores, your pet will never be left alone for more than 2-3 hours and will never be neglected.

I have a big house and a fenced yard where your dog can play under my supervision. I try my best to stimulate your pets both physically and mentally. I understand animals and treat them with love and respect they deserve. If you want me to house sit, I will take care of your house and your fur babies as of my own.
A typical day
Whether in your home or mine, I take doggies for at least two long walks a day and let them out a couple of times for potty breaks and play time in the yard. I always give them attention and love understanding their emotional and mental needs. I reinforce basic obedience commands and encourage good behavior. I consider playtime a very important component of all animals' lives, so I will play with your kitties, doggies and other furry "babies" every day.
