“Yoshiko was fantastic! Super communicative, lovely to work with, and took great care of Daisy. I got tons of videos of her having a blast. Will definitely book again!”

“Masha and her family were awesome! We have a dog that is reactive to other dogs and requires medication. We really appreciate the care and attention they gave our dog. We got updates and pictures letting us know all is well with him and that was very reassuring. We would definitely love to leave him with Masha and her family again.”

“Joseph and his wife took amazing care of Kashmere over night. They sent updates through out the entire day/ night with pictures and videos to make sure we knew he was doing ok. Also kept him on schedule for us so there were no issues for us when we got him back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

“Such a phenomenal sitter-- she genuinely loves animals and it comes through in her interactions with pets. Sent plenty of pictures throughout my trip and kept me regularly updated. Truly felt like she cared for my cat as if she were my own and that's such a rare trait in a cat sitter.”

“David and Allison’s family cared so well for our dog while we were out of town. They sent frequent updates and were easy to communicate with. We felt our dog was so happy to be at their home and wouldn’t hesitate at all to use them again in the future! Thanks so much!”

“Karen took great care of my dog. A timing issue on pick up came up but Karen conveniently offered to bring the dog to our house to resolve. I would definitely recommend her!”

About: I’ve cared for many of my own dogs & dogs of friends, gf’s, etc. since the late 1980s. I’m a long time dog owner and dog lover, who is also a professional and former small business owner - who is mature, responsible, and serious. On the professional side, I have a combination of organizational/business management and basic sales/marketing & customer service training. I own a single family home with a large yard. My “main job” is in tech and I work from home nearly every day. I’m minutes away from a large park as well. The pets (and people) under my care receive a lot of loving attention in a safe, higher end neighborhood. I have a fenced yard backing up to a very serene, wooded/natural setting with tons of trees. If needed, my home has specific crates/cages and multiple rooms, depending on what the circumstances require. However, usually most pets are allowed to roam freely throughout most of the house and yard, as long as they do not conflict with or disrupt others.
“Armanush was wonderful. She was very responsive and provided plenty of updates and pictures of the dogs. My flight was delayed and she was accommodating of a later pickup time which was much appreciated. Thank you!”

“Alicia and Titus were great. Our flight was delayed coming home, but they were understanding and great about it. My dogs were very happy staying with them. They got to play lots of ball and had plenty of cuddle time, which are their favorite past times! I will definitely use them again.”
“Amazing. They were so caring and their dog is probably the most friendly friend our dog has ever gotten the pleasure of playing and living with over the span of almost a week. We got tons of pictures during the course of the stay, and felt that we were in truly caring hands. Never had a worry. Our dog is definitely looking forward to the next time we send her over lol. 10/10”

“Arianna was fantastic with our dog! She took great care of him, made sure he got regular walks, and kept us updated with messages and photos throughout our vacation. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup. Reliable, communicative, and attentive—highly recommend!”

“Colleen and her family took wonderful care of my dog. She is a very trustworthy and conscientious dog mom. I appreciate that her home has a fenced yard. She also was able to administer daily high drops to my senior dog. I received updates and photos. Thank you Colleen and family!”

“Stacy, Jeff and their kiddos welcomed Francis into their home and made him feel at ease. They were excellent communicators and took great care of Francis. We were thrilled to have Francis stay in such a loving home. We will definitely use them again when we need care. Thank you!”

“Sriju was personable and made me and most importantly, my dog feel comfortable. I could tell he enjoyed being with her. Sriju was amenable to my instructions and gave my dog medicine without concerns. She sent me pictures daily and was approachable and friendly. A friend had recommended her and Sriju was fantastic. She even let my dog sleep with her; I think he behaved better than me. I highly recommend Sriju and thank her for making us feel at peace so we could enjoy our vacation!”

“Fiorela was fantastic! She took great care of Ralphie, sent me a good amount of pictures which made me feel good that he was in safe and happy. She actually read the entire profile and asked great questions where I had left out details needed to give him the best care she could. All in all, a great experience. I would highly recommend Fiorela and will be requesting her services again in the future.”

“Super communicative! My pup seemed very happy with Max and was able to readjust back to our home well—a signal that she maintained routine and treated him like family! Highly recommend!”
“John and Viona took great care of Chase. Gave him his meds and let him take it easy with their senior dog. We got photos and videos of our dog during our trip. And communication was a breeze. Would gladly recommend them.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Bethesda
Anne and family were great with our dog. She was very easy to communicate with, has a great house with a fenced in backyard, nice neighborhood, and parks nearby, etc. Her own dog was adorable and got along well with our high-energy 2-year old dog. We never know about how our dog will get along since, although he is quite friendly, he does have a lot of energy and loves a lot of running, chasing, etc. We had various special instructions for feeding, walking, playing, and the like, and Anne was great in taking care of those requests. We appreciated getting pictures and updates and we highly recommend.

Fiorela was a wonderful sitter for our dog, Winnie. We got so many pictures and great communication throughout the stay and Winnie got lots of great walks, pets, and was even sent home with a homemade pup cup treat, which she loved. We'd definitely book with Fiorela again!
This was an absolutely wonderful experience start to finish. They watched my two dogs last minute and I mean very last minute and they are so well organized and its like a little camp for doggies. I was updated daily with pics and was able to enjoy my trip. They even sent my girls home with toys that they love. 🙏🏾 Thank you so much- you def have an ongoing customer here

Really appreciated Stacy, Jeff, and fam taking care of Layla - during a heat wave and fireworks season no less! Really easy to coordinate with, got great updates throughout the stay, and I felt confident that my pup was safe, loved, and well taken care of. Thank you!!
It was a real pleasure working with Bianca! She is a very professional, responsive, responsible, and nice dog sitter. She always updated us with photos and did activities with our dog. And the most important thing, due to our flight delay, she also agreed at the last minute to keep our dog for an extra night. We highly recommend working with her. We relaxed on our vacation, and our dog went back happy and safe, and this is the most important thing for us. Thank you Bianka!
I feel so lucky to have had Robyn care for Jerry, my 1-yo cat for 10 days. From the moment we started the process, I could tell that she really loves caring for animals. She did everything she could to make me feel comfortable leaving "my little guy" in her care. We worked together to make the transition a smooth one for Jerry. We decided what he needed to feel comfortable. Robyn assured me he would have ample time to find his comfort level. When I met her in person, I felt like we could be friends forever. When I left Jerry, he was very scared. Robyn told me he would have a room to himself to calm down and he could stay in the room the whole time. She left the door open so he could come out when ready. He eventually came out and made friends with her cat. Robyn texted me every day about Jerry's progress. I could tell she spent time with him because she mentioned all the little characteristics that made him special. She fell in love with him and his little squeaks and purrs. She even celebrated his first birthday, since I wasn't there. He was in such kind and wonderful hands, I didn't have to worry anymore. There is nothing like peace of mind. I would hire Robyn again in a heartbeat. She's very special!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
