“Brittany is just fantastic with Trooper. She sends frequent photos and focuses on Trooper. I completely trust Brittany with Trooper and know he is in the best hands whenever I have to leave him. Brittany isn’t a stranger, she is a trusted friend of Trooper’s. Highly recommend.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Supon! He was so communicative during our pup Gatsby’s stay. He sent us several pictures a day and lots of status updates. We have not used Rover before, but Supon took such excellent care of Gatsby and made us feel like Gatsby was in such great hands. His house has great indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to run around in, and the other dogs who come to stay are very sweet. We definitely trust Supon and would love to work with him again!”

“Mallory and her husband took great care of our pooch. It was a rare stay that we couldn't give much notice, but they stepped in and gave us peace of mind for his care.”

“I have a great feeling of peace, knowing that my Marcel is being cared for by Elisabeth. She is attentive, loving and gives great care to our dog Marcel. Marcel was right at home with Elisabeth and did not want to leave. It’s important to me that Marcel not be stressed or anxious and she provides that type of calm atmosphere needed. I needed a later time to pick him up and Elizabeth accommodated me and told me not to rush or worry. Marcel was very happy with his long walks! I want to keep her all to myself. She is truly a wonderful person and can be trusted with the care of your special pet.”

“Sam and Tracy were amazing sitters for our girl Dahlia. They were very responsive, and sent us daily updates and pictures. We could tell they made Dahlia feel comfortable and safe. We would 100% book with them again!”

“Chad and his wife were wonderful carers for my dog! She experienced some GI issues while staying with them and they made appropriate modifications to her diet and offered helpful tips.”

“David and Allison were absolutely fantastic and took great care of our 2 y/o dog. They were also lovely to deal with, including being very responsive and flexible. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.”

“Wonderfully loving and caring people. Exceptionally communicative. Appreciate the pictures and regular updates we receive when ever our dogs stay with Sasha and team. Our dog always seems to come home happy (and exhausted!) from all the play time and social interaction.”

“Max was amazing! I loved getting all the updates and pictures of my dogs while I was away. One of my dogs is reactive and can be a handful. Max was willing to meet with her before her stay and win her over (and he did!) it really eased my mind knowing she would be in good hands. My dog had a few stubborn potty accidents in his home and Max kept me informed about that and as well as the times she did go outside. I was delayed by several hours picking my dogs up and Max was understanding and was able to keep my girls entertained while he waited. Bailey and Cali loved their stay and got lots of play time, walks, and belly rubs. I would definitely use Max over and over again.”

“jenny always takes such good care of my beloved bella. i never worry about bella when she's there. when i pick her up she is always full of beans and obviously had a great time!”

“Cal and Kelly took great care of our large German Shepherd Loki for his (and our!) first Rover experience. Loki hadn't spent a lot of time with other dogs in close quarters prior to this stay, but Cal put us at ease in our initial meet-and-greet with him and both their dogs. We also really appreciated the regular communication throughout Loki's stay. Cal and Kelly were always super responsive and they sent us high-quality photos and videos of Loki every day playing with other dogs and looking like he was having a great time. Would definitely recommend to others and will be boarding Loki with Cal and Kelly again!”

“Our dog had a great stay. He was well cared for and had ample play time with other dogs and walks to the park. Videos throughout the day were provided to let us know he was doing great. He also was on special diet and takes medication, both were not a problem and able to continue during his stay.”

“Lauren was a great sitter for my needy rescue dog, Rocky. I always worry when I have to leave him with someone, but Lauren alleviated my worries from the start. She sent me daily photos of Rocky enjoying his time, I started to worry he wouldn't want to come home with me! I highly recommend Lauren, and am hopeful she will be available next time I have to go away.”

“Great experience leaving Oliver with their family. The two of them were conscientious and considerate about understanding Oliver's needs and ensuring that I felt comfortable leaving him in their care while I was out of town. I wouldn't hesitate to leave Oliver with them again!”

“Another successful stay and, as always, Michael was incredibly flexible, communicative, and kind! Atlas couldn't have been happier to see him at drop-off and thoroughly enjoyed their weekend adventure to Scott's Run with Ollie.”

“Millie had an exceptional time at Shasta’s over Thanksgiving. Our family is so thankful that our pup was in such good hands and well loved while we were out of town. Millie got to run and play and have cuddles with Shasta and her daughter. Millie will definitely be visiting again one day!”

Diana was an amazing caretaker for my dog Baxter! It’s clear how much she loves animals. Diana met with Baxter before my trip to get acquainted with him and Baxter immediately took to her. Her home was lovely and inviting. She sent me updates multiple times a day and my pup looked relaxed and happy in every photo. Her dog Charlie was a wonderful host too! Baxter was in great hands while I was gone. I am looking forward to being able to have Baxter stay with her the next time I need to go out of town. Thank you Diana and Charlie!

Mega and Jared we're great! Lila really seemed to enjoy her stay with them. She was surprisingly not all that thrilled to see us when she was brought home! Mega sent lots of pictures as well as regular updates. Lila is looking forward to hanging out with then again soon!

The only reason I don’t want give Dave five stars is so he wont be booked all the time because I want him all to myself! 😂 My Stitch came home very well taken care of. Dave was incredibly communicative and I could really enjoy my time away knowing Stitch was in good hands. We will 💯 continuing working with Dave.

This was my first time ever using Rover and Yoshiko and her daughter are amazing!! I felt so at peace knowing my little kitty was taken care of while I was overseas for a wedding. They were even able to trim her nails which was so nice to do since I have never done it before haha. I highly recommend Yoshiko and I will be using them again!

Angela was very responsive throughout my cat’s 4-day stay with her. It was my cat’s first time being away from home and she was very scared. Angela sent videos of her and video-called several times so that she could be as comforted in her new environment as possible. I highly recommend Angela for your pet-sitting needs!

Galen is our regular sitter when we can’t take our pup along, it gives us great peace of mind knowing our dog is well loved and cared for when we’re away. The latest visit lasted 2 full weeks, we got regular updates and cute pics the whole time. Our dog had an ear infection pop up a few days ahead of the stay and Galen was really flexible in agreeing to give Juniper the necessary ear medications. Galen is easy to communicate with and is flexible. We really appreciate her and our dog loves staying with her and her pup Ginger.

Dannel and her husband were truly more than we imagined we were getting for our sweet pup, Magnolia. They took incredible care of her while she stayed with them for a week. The week was full of storms which make her very nervous but Dannel made sure that Mags was comforted throughout and even sang to her to keep her distracted, truly going above and beyond and Magnolia came home happy, healthy, and with new found friends. We’ve found our go-to sitter(s) for sure! We can’t recommend Dannel enough, she’s a trusted, caring, animal lover through and through.

Karla is outstanding — she watched my small Dachshund for almost a week and paid special attention to his diet, exercise and stimulation wonderfully. Plenty of outdoor activities, lots of indoor care, and excellent updates throughout the stay. I would recommend Karla fully!

We had the best experience leaving our dog Penny with Fiorela last week! She was so sweet and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and Penny took to her instantly (which honestly tells you everything). The house was spotless and cozy and smelled like a spa. Fiorela sent us photos throughout the stay of walks and Penny just chilling and happy, which made it so easy to actually relax knowing she was being so well cared for. Penny came home happy and content, we would definitely ask her to watch Penny again. Truly 10/10, we are so grateful!

Diana took wonderful care of my dog, Tutsi, and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. She and her family were incredibly loving and made Tutsi feel right at home. Her kids were especially sweet and gave Tutsi so much attention, love, and care. It was clear that Tutsi was treated like part of the family. I had complete peace of mind while I was away, and I would absolutely book with Diana again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
