A typical day

My days are structured around your dog’s routine to keep them comfortable and stress free. Mornings start with a potty break, breakfast, and a walk based on their energy level. During the day, I balance playtime, attention, and rest while following all care instructions closely. Afternoons include another walk or outdoor time, and evenings are for dinner, a final break, and winding down. I also send regular updates with photos so you always know your pet is happy and well cared for.

Pet care experience

I am a dog mom to a Bernese Mountain dog who would love to pass the time with your pup! What really sets me apart as a pet sitter is the combination of hands-on experience across dog sizes and personalities, plus a calm, observant approach that helps pets feel safe quickly. I’ve personally owned and cared for mini, medium, and extra large dogs, so I am very comfortable adjusting my handling style depending on the dog. I understand that a small dog might need gentler handling and more reassurance, while a large or XL dog requires confident leash control, consistency, and clear communication. That range of experience helps me read behavior accurately and respond in a way that keeps both the dog and environment under control. One of my biggest strengths is my attention to detail. I pay close attention to subtle changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels, which helps me catch potential issues early. I am also very good at maintaining routines including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any house rules you have set, so your pet experiences as little disruption as possible while you are away.

Rachel was a wonderful pet sitter. Our dog had stomach issues while we were away, Rachel handled it with ease and competence. I highly recommend her to anyone!

This was my second time having Rachel take care of my dog, and she did a great job again. She was also very accommodating when I had to pick up earlier than expected due to snow and ice. Her dog is a gentle giant who gets along well with my medium sized hound.

We felt super comfortable leaving our dog with Rachel. She was communicative, confident, and professional and sent us videos and comments throughout Gertie’s stay. I know Gertie would love to go back!
