“Kamille and her son were incredible dog sitters for our pups (large 10 year old and small 15 year old). She sent multiple videos everyday along with updates, was accommodating for pickup/dropoff, and responsive whenever we had questions or just checked in. She administered eye medication and catered to specific activity needs. We were nervous using a new pet sitter but our minds were quickly put to ease so that we could enjoy vacation. We could not speak more highly of Kamille and absolutely recommend her services.”

“Christopher sent us plenty of photos and videos throughout the stay, which made us feel really comfortable and reassured. He took really good care of our dog, and our dog was super happy when we got back. This was our first time using Rover, and it turned out to be a great experience. We’d definitely recommend Christopher!”

“Kyle was such a wonderful sitter for my pup over the long weekend! Ringo was well taken care of, socializing with his dogs, and I received daily updates and pictures. It was a wonderful, calm environment.”

“Angie and her family gave Stark one of the happiest weeks he has ever had with any sitter. From May 12–17, we received nonstop updates, photos, videos, and hilarious messages that made it obvious he was being treated like part of their family. Every single day we could see how relaxed, loved, entertained, and completely at home he was. What impressed us most was how personal and attentive Angie was. She paid attention to Stark’s personality, routines, favorite activities, and even his moods. By the end of the stay he had apparently become a “country dog,” joined family movie night, made himself at home with the other pups, and spent his days running around outside living his absolute best life. The communication was exceptional. We never once had to wonder how he was doing because Angie constantly kept us updated with thoughtful check ins and genuinely funny commentary. You can tell she truly loves dogs and enjoys caring for them, which makes a massive difference. She even bathed and dried him before pickup after all of his outdoor adventures. That level of care and consideration says everything. Finding someone trustworthy is important. Finding someone who loves your dog like their own is rare. Angie is that person. We are incredibly grateful to have found her and will absolutely book with her again. Highly, highly recommend.”

“What a great experience having Diana watch Stevie. From the minute we met at a meet & greet in her home, I knew Stevie would be in caring, trustworthy hands. My dog is very anxious and is usually scared of new people but she warmed up to Diana as soon as she met her. You can tell that Diana loves dogs (her own pup is adorable) and treated Stevie like she was her own. Diana wanted to know all about my dog’s schedule, likes and dislikes and personality. She was responsive, communicative, and sent daily updates and pictures so I knew my dog was comfortable and having a wonderful time. You could tell how much love Stevie was getting and I would absolutely book Diana again. I was able to have a relaxing trip knowing Stevie was happy and relaxed.”

“Nadia was spectacular! She walked Ginsburg regularly and kept us updated on her activities, most regularly with photos. She wanted to send more updates, but I shared that it was unnecessary. Periodically would be fine. As a new owner of a 6-month-old puppy, and a first-time boarder, I know that puppy-energy can sometimes be a challenge. Nadia took it all in stride, providing a safe and suitable environment…and assuaging any trepidations we may have had as first-time Rover users. Thx, Nadia!”

“Connie was a great host for Indie. She’s very responsive to communication and made sure she understands what Indie needs. She has a warm and loving home with younger children who seemed excited to have a dog visit. Indie quickly integrated herself into the family and was comfortable.”

“Thank you so much for taking such good care of Joy! I’m so happy that we found you (and your family) to look after Joy for us. Joy is definitely missing you all and looking forward to another stay!”

“Bianca was a wonderful sitter. I knew the moment I met her that my pooch was in good hands which put me at ease. My dog takes time to warm up to people but he was well acquainted with Bianca so quickly. She provided frequent updates and I could tell my dog felt comfortable with her in photos. When I picked my dog up he was crying when she left and was searching for her. I would absolutely recommend her to look after your pet.”

“I've booked with Julia a few times now and always have a great experience. She spends lots of time with my dog and sends lots of photos. She has multiple spaces so she can group dogs by energy level and individualize your dogs experience. I love that my dog gets to socialize with another chihuahua, without being overwhelmed by higher energy dogs. And she has a great yard for the dogs to sniff around.”

“Walter came home very happy after several nights and was very well cared for — I could tell by his temperament when I picked him up, and how relaxed he was coming home. He is an older dog who gets anxious out of his routine, and Mike treated him very well.”

“Brendan watched our pup for a long weekend and was great! He was very communicative and seemed to really like Sonia. She came home happy and healthy. He was also really flexible on the pickup when our flight was delayed. We would definitely use Brendan again!”

“This is the second time Madelyn has watched my full grown Rottweiler. She is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had. Very thorough with her picture, flexible, and great with communication.”

“Yvonne and her family were phenomenal! Our pup was obviously loved and spoiled— looks like he went on a vacation himself staying with them! We very much enjoyed and appreciated all the wonderful photos she sent too! Thank you Yvonne!!”

“Anne Marie took such great care of Danny, she was patient and kind to him as a senior dog and just loved on him! I will definitely be asking Anne Marie to care for him again when I need it.”
“Thomas was an absolutely amazing and wonderful sitter for our little pup. We’re also so worried about leaving her with a sitter because she suffers from horrible anxiety and is so fearful of a lot of things (new people included), but from all the pictures that Thomas had sent us, it seemed like our little pup was able to quickly make a home and feel at peace for the duration of the sit. Besides being a good sitter for our fearful pup, Thomas was also very flexible and responsive. We had booked him so last minute, and we couldn’t get home in time due to the recent snow storm. As anxious as we were about these problems, Thomas was great and alleviated a lot of our stress by accepting and kindly taking care of our pup for even longer than intended. Highly recommend! And we hope to book him again sometime in the future!”
“We love Roseline and Zeus! Our dog was in such good company with Roseline’s own pup, and was so spoiled by Roseline! We got photo and video updates every day, and appreciated Roseline’s patience with our dog’s quirks and energy.”

“Yoshiko and Mia were amazing, communicative, flexible and the best of all they loved Hulk! Now that he is back he seems to miss them! Thanks for all the love and good care!”

Lee Ann and her family were exceptional puppy hosts! Our pup settled in right at home with their pup and kids. Their place is very dog friendly and Lee Ann responds so thoughtfully, with regular updates and quick correspondence. We even caught our puppy learning new moves to hint at wanting to go outside. Would highly recommend and rebook soon!

Jiao was wonderful! Our pup needed a surgery unexpectedly a few days before arriving to Jiao’s, and she was absolutely wonderful and gracious in taking on additional responsibilities like administering medication and sending photos of our pup’s wound so we could monitor healing. We are so grateful for her, and our dog was so well cared for when we were away.

Daniela was a great Dog Mom to Kofi while we were away for almost a week. She and her husband showed lots of love and care to him during the stay. She was communicative with updates, including photos and videos, and very easy going and flexible. She followed instructions well for his schedule. Kofi adjusted very quickly which was a testament to the caring environment they provided. Thank you Daniela and Sergio for allowing me to be worry-free about Kofi while away. 🤗

Valeria was amazing with my dog, and I was lucky she was able to take him for the weekend so last minute. It can be a struggle to get him to eat sometimes, but she had no problem keeping him fed, which I'm so happy about. My dog was, of course, ready to go home, but I could tell she took really good care of him and kept him exercised. I absolutely would go to her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
