“Our dog had a wonderful short stay with Gail and Kris. They are everything you want when going through the stress of finding a boarding situation. Very responsive, kind, and patient. They take the time to learn as much as needed to make the experience for your dog as smooth and comfortable as possible.”

“I had a last-minute need for boarding our two senior pups and had a meet and greet with David. I was immediately at ease and knew our pups would be safe and well cared for. He understood their senior needs and gave them their medications, took them for very frequent potty breaks, and was understanding when there was an accident. He even handled Millie's diaper! I hope that he's available when we need to board Millie and Theo again!”
“Sharon is amazing! I would have her watch my furry baby again. She’s professional, reliable, kind, trustworthy and communicative. Don’t give it another thought. A++”

“Brianna was very responsive and flexible. My dog is high energy and she came back tired, which was great. She enjoyed play time with Brianna’s dog. My flight was delayed and she super flexible with me on my pick up time.”

“Frankie absolutely loves his time with Theresa!!! I love that she regularly shares action pics and checks in to let me know everything is okay. She is the very best!”

“Andrea and Michael couldn’t have been sweeter to our little pup. They kept us up to date with pictures and gave our little guy his daily medications. We could tell that he enjoyed his time there immensely. We have used other sitters but have never been happier than we were with Andrea and Michael. We would not hesitate to use them again. Highly recommend.”

“So glad we found Nithya! She was available on short notice, super responsive, and very accommodating. Maestro was exhausted when he got home so he must have had lots of fun with Nithya and her other pups 😊.”

“Joseph and his wife are amazing. My pup has the absolute best time staying with them and playing with Odin (who btw is the sweetest dog). When I drop Chewie off for a long stay, I know he will be well taken care of, and loved like he is at home. What more could you ask for?”

“It was a last minute book, i was having an emergency, she was gentle to book and take my 12 years old dog to day care on Sunday, and provide a picture of him. I only can say, Thank you!!”

“Our dog Hunter had an amazing time! We are very thankful that Luka did not mind sharing his bed. Thank you for taking care of our pup! We felt very confident leaving him in your care. Will definitely book again in the future.”

“Brandon and his whole family were taking great care of Amy, she got loads of cuddling and playing. We got photos regularly showing that she enjoyed her time there. And Amy had a great time with River (great dog company, a good girl). We will definitely book again!”

“Our dog Freya loved her time with Dawn and came home completely exhausted (in a good way)! Dawn is also very communicative and attentive to Freya 's needs and flexible with scheduling if needed”

“Thanks 🙏 so much!! You are lilos favorite person! You are so kind and you always treat lilo like family. You are my number one babysitter. You are not just a babysitter you are our friend. Until next time 🥰😊😊”

About: I grew up in a family that loved animals (former cat lover). My children and I took a leap of faith and adopted a Jack Terrier Russel Terrier mix right before COVID. We have grown to appreciate the unconditional love our dog. She loves us but also enjoys playing with other dogs! Your dog will have the opportunity for frolicking, playing, and getting lots of love from our home! I work from home 3 days a week and those are the times I would be available to board. Every morning starts with a walk and they get their breakfast and treat right after. The dogs would spend their time with me in the office while I work until time for their next walk mid-day. They would get their next walk right at 5 p.m. and would spend time with the family as they each arrive home. We go for early morning walks before the day starts, a walk during the day, and right after close of my work day. My dog knows our routine and thrives on it. We also go to the dog park (weather and time permitting) for her to release any additional energy. I have two crates at home. Sometimes she sleeps with my teenagers and other times she's in the crate. If there's an additional dog in the home--we will assess the situation to see what works well for both dogs.
“Dian was kind enough to take our dogs in with short notice. She took care of them like they’re her own. Even though our dogs are not completely potty trained, she was very understanding and assured me that accidents were ok! I provided her with reusable diapers and she even washed them when we picked them up. She sent me pictures and videos daily as requested. We felt comfortable leaving our furry babies with her while we were away. We are grateful to find Dian and will definitely book her again next time! Thank you Dian!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Washington Grove
I had an emergency and Elliot was able to accommodate my GSD Astro last minute. Elliot’s experience in training gave me the peace of mind that Astro would be in good hands. He sent pictures, was responsive, and friendly! Astro was super happy when I picked him up so I will be booking again if needed in the future! :)

Aurora loves hanging out with Camilo and his wife! It’s like the best vacation, with multiple walks and enrichment activities everyday and someone with her at the house all day. Camilo is always my first call when I need to travel, because I know Aurora will be taken care of just as well as (or maybe even better than) if she were with me!

Karen took wonderful care of Munjee while we were away for nearly three weeks. We received consistent updates on how he was doing, including all sorts of pictures that he was well. Karen kept in touch with us and her communication was great. She also took time understood Munjee's reactive behavior in certain times and would do her best to accommodate. We will keep Karen in mind for future instances!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
