“Pam was amazing with my pup! She sent regular updates, was very well prepared, and definitely gave lots of love to her throughout the stay. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a boarder!”

“Anna was amazing, I felt true piece of mind leaving my pup in her care. She sent daily pictures and updates - even when I had a last minute scheduling hiccup, Anna went above and beyond in order to accommodate us. I’ve found my new home away from home for Maxy. Thank you!”
“Rong was fantastic! She communicated regularly and Ralphie came home happy. I can’t ask for much more than that! Her dog, Lucky, is also a sweetheart and made a good companion for my dog.”

“I’m so grateful for Israel and his family! they truly saved the day! When an emergency came up with Rocko’s first sitter, they stepped in without hesitation and welcomed him with so much love. This was his second stay with them, and I knew he’d be in the best hands. Rocko came home happy, so loved, and so well cared for. I can’t thank them enough!”

About: I love animals very much. I can always establish a good interactive relationship with pets and help them adapt to the new environment quickly. By observing and perceiving their needs, I can provide timely help and let them spend a relaxing and happy time. I have also taken care of many older dogs and know how to feed them medicine and care for them. I work from home so I am able to take care of the pet throughout the day, I take dog for walks in the morning and evening and take him out to play in the backyard every two to three hours. I have a fenced backyard and I have a six year old very well behaved and friendly little dachshund at home to play with your dog. Because I take care of my own dog every day and have taken care of different kinds of dogs, so I can take good care of your dog too.

“We had a wonderful experience with Vanessa! Luna was so well cared for during her stay. I really appreciated the regular photo and video updates—they gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. When Luna wasn’t eating, she reached out right away to let me know and came up with a thoughtful solution that worked. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear she genuinely cared about Luna’s well-being. She even told me Luna was one of the easiest dogs she’s watched, which was great to hear! I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and communicative dog sitter.”

“I had a last-minute need for boarding our two senior pups and had a meet and greet with David. I was immediately at ease and knew our pups would be safe and well cared for. He understood their senior needs and gave them their medications, took them for very frequent potty breaks, and was understanding when there was an accident. He even handled Millie's diaper! I hope that he's available when we need to board Millie and Theo again!”
“Shelley is so wonderful with Chester! She’s very responsive and sends lots of great pics. Chester loves her kids. She was great about not leaving him alone and avoiding other dogs, which make him a tough dog to sit.”

About: Whether you’re going on vacation, buisness trip or just need a hand, I'll provide the best available care for your best friends. My top priorities are the same as yours, the safety, comfort and happiness of your pets. I've had dogs, cats and others at all different energy levels throughout my life including beagles, pitbulls, poodles and others. I love all breeds and I'll treat your pet like they are my own, following any special instructions you have for medicine or otherwise. Your best buddy will be allowed to hang out all over the house, including on the couch and furniture if you allow and will have someone with them at all times. If your dog loves walks, parks, creeks and fenced yards, this is the place for them! I don’t have any pets of my own at this time, and I’d love to care for yours in the meantime. I understand and appreciate how much a pet means to someone. I'm always available for a visit and it's best to reserve a spot early if possible. Please feel free to reach out anytime. I am at home full-time retired so I'm available and at the mercy of your pet’s schedule! I do my best to accommodate most schedules. If you just need to drop off your pet for a few hours while you take care of errands etc.. that's no problem. I treat all pets like they are my own. They are allowed on all furniture (unless you say no!), they have a fully fenced yard to play in, a park right across the street where we walk, a creek area to explore, and more right across the street! If your dog is uncomfortable around other dogs or people, i am able to walk them in non populated areas. One of my former dogs was also not a huge fan of people or other pets so I know how to work with these situations.
“Iwona took great care of Bella and sent me updates and photos every day. She made sure to follow all of the special care instructions I provided, and I can tell that she showed genuine love for my dog, Bella! Her family dog Nubi is also very sweet, and Bella and him are great friends now!”

“Michael took great care of Cooper! He accepted the sitting on very short notice. Michael kept me updated on Cooper every day with pictures and messages. He was also very flexible with my pickup time since it was delayed to my flight. Highly recommend Michael to care for your pet.”

“Simmone watched my dog for a long weekend and he had a blast. She sent frequent updates and photos of h throughout his stay. I'd highly recommend her and will be using her again in the future! :)”

“Memphoo was taken very well at Austin’s. Austin always kept us posted with texts, photos and videos everyday. He always gladly did everything that is good for my fur baby. I felt good to leave my dog to him, Will definitely hire him again.”

“Frankie absolutely loves his time with Theresa!!! I love that she regularly shares action pics and checks in to let me know everything is okay. She is the very best!”

“Chris was great with our older dog. He let him out into his yard and walked him daily. He also gave him his meds on schedule. We received daily updates during his stay. Chris was also responsive throughout the process: booking, meet and greet, drop off and pickup. Our dog was happy and relaxed after a one week stay with Chris. Highly recommend him for a stay!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Montgomery Village
Jared was really great, and I’ll definitely contact him next time I need a dog sitter. My boy has some special needs, and Jared handled everything extremely well. Messages made it seem like both were having a nice time too, which make me feel really comfortable and at ease since this was my boy’s first time away from home since I adopted him.

Karen took wonderful care of Munjee while we were away for nearly three weeks. We received consistent updates on how he was doing, including all sorts of pictures that he was well. Karen kept in touch with us and her communication was great. She also took time understood Munjee's reactive behavior in certain times and would do her best to accommodate. We will keep Karen in mind for future instances!

Caden did an amazing job with our dog Pickles. He sent us pictures everyday we were gone so we could see how Pickles was doing. Pickles usually doesn’t eat well while we are gone so Caden was sure to message us about how things were going with Pickles eating and any ways he could get Pickles to eat his food. Leaving our baby with someone new was scary, but Caden made us feel assured Pickles was well cared for. Caden was quick to answer every question I had when setting up the care. Caden asked questions about taking care of our dog that I didn’t think of to make sure Pickles would have the best care possible. I was not worried about Pickles while we were gone he was well taken care of the entire time. I would highly recommend Caden to anyone.

Huey to the rescue! I was in desperate need of a pet sitter for this past weekend as my regular sitter was out of town as well. My boys are very important to me and so is their care when I am away, finding Huey was an absolute lifesaver. She took such great care of my fur babies over the weekend, and I will absolutely be in touch for another booking in the future.

First time using Rover and was a little nervous but Ashley treated Violet (my pup) like her own. Her and her family kept her entertained and sent me updates through her stay. Couldn’t be more satisfied with trusting Ashley with Violet. My pup was so worn out from the playtime she slept the entire car ride home. Definitely will be booking for her next stay. Thank you Ashley!

Shelley was amazing, and my dog Marley had a great time!! She sent lots of pictures and updates, which I really appreciated, and she was so accommodating with his health issues. It was such a relief knowing he was in such good hands. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! (:

My previous rover sitter cancelled a day before my scheduled booking. Israel was able to take my last minute booking for a long weekend with my senior disabled dog. She was very accommodating. My dog had meds that he was unwilling to take with his food even though I brought some shredded cheese for mix-ins, which turned out to be ineffective. Israel provided pill pockets and made sure my dog took his prescription meds. Israel’s was good about providing photos and status update every day. Yoshi seemed happy when I picked him up. I will definitely go back to Israel next time I need to be out of town.

Marylee and her family are absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't be happier with the care they provided for our dog. From the start, Marylee’s communication was excellent - she is a great listener, highly attentive, and genuinely kind. We felt completely heard and cared for during all of our interactions. It’s rare to find someone you can trust so completely, but Marylee and her family are some of the kindest people we’ve met. She went above and beyond to make sure our dog's extensive routine was completely undisrupted. She ensured he had plenty of walks, constant access to fresh water, timely meals, lots of playtime in the yard, and a cozy place to rest. The love and care she showed is the best we’ve experienced so far, and it shows because we always bring a happy dog home. We truly feel fortunate to know Marylee and cannot recommend her highly enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
