Right at Home
I have owned 3 big shelter dogs and 1 small stray dog for 20 years. Even as a child I have had a strong love for animals. My friends call me the "dog whisperer" because when out in public other people's dogs seem to gravitate towards me. I strongly believe animals have an innate knowledge of who likes them and likewise, who doesn't. I have taken classes on manners & reactive dogs as well as many workshops. In the past, before becoming a host with "Rover" I have taken care of several friends dogs both at their home as well as mine. Lately, I often "corral" neighbors dogs that have gotten loose (unbeknownst to the owners) and send them back home. I will love interacting with your dog, having them follow me around the house and most of all, going on walks because it is always an adventure--for both of us! Your dog will have the run of my house and may sleep next to me on their bed. I have a large and interesting fenced backyard with various gardens to poke around in. There is plenty of room for playing ball and tag if your dog so chooses. Usually I am outside in the yard much of the day because I garden even in November & early December. The exception is on very hot days when I restrict time outside to 10-15 minutes so the dogs don't get overheated.

Marylee and her family are absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't be happier with the care they provided for our dog. From the start, Marylee’s communication was excellent - she is a great listener, highly attentive, and genuinely kind. We felt completely heard and cared for during all of our interactions. It’s rare to find someone you can trust so completely, but Marylee and her family are some of the kindest people we’ve met. She went above and beyond to make sure our dog's extensive routine was completely undisrupted. She ensured he had plenty of walks, constant access to fresh water, timely meals, lots of playtime in the yard, and a cozy place to rest. The love and care she showed is the best we’ve experienced so far, and it shows because we always bring a happy dog home. We truly feel fortunate to know Marylee and cannot recommend her highly enough!

Marylee is absolutely priceless. She always takes great care of our pup, is extremely reliable, and very flexible. Her place is our dogs home away from home!
Marylee was wonderful to work with and took excellent care of our senior dog, Roxy. She is very experienced and organized, asking in advance for specifics to help her prepare and care for each guest. We got regular photos and updates and felt very reassured that Roxy was in good hands. Marylee’s home is set up comfortably for pet visitors and her fenced yard is wonderful. It was a treat for our dog who usually is outside only on a leash - from the daily photos we could tell Roxy made herself at home inside and enjoyed relaxing outside in the nice weather and exploring the yard. We recommend Marylee highly and would happily use her to care for our dog again.

Schedule
My husband and I are retired. We are both home much of the day, every day. We do have occasional doctor appointments and sometimes need to take our adult physically disabled son to appointments but we are pretty much home bodies.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet will have the run of my house except when I am out. They are free to follow me around both inside and outside in my big yard. I cover my furniture so they can relax on it.
A typical day
There are several different routes in my neighborhood for walking which I always vary, even in the same day. Some are wooded areas, a park and an adjoining neighborhood. I can tailor the walk to be short or long depending on your dog's needs/preferences. Playing tag, ball or frisbee, fetching a stick, chasing a rabbit, exploring the yard, sunning on the deck, and "meeting" the neighbor's dog through the wire fence are all fun activities we will enjoy together. The old adage says "no playing in the house" but I say phooey to that. What's a dog to do on a rainy, snowy or just plain too hot day? :-)
