“Huan took excellent care of my dog for the time he was with her. I received regular updates with photos and videos, which was very reassuring. My dog came back happy and relaxed—he clearly got lots of attention, great walks, and plenty of belly rubs. She’s kind, personable, and truly attentive. I highly recommend her for boarding and sitting.”

“Raghavi and her family were AMAZING!!! It was my first time booking a pet sitter, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I got so lucky! Raghavi let me do a little meet-and-greet before I even booked to make sure that Ryder was comfortable with her dog, which put me so at ease, and during the boarding itself, was so accommodating with Ryder's schedule (and went above and beyond by sending me lots of photos while I was away, which was such an unexpected but very nice and much appreciated surprise!) She was so easy to get in touch with, and when I needed an emergency extra couple of days covered, she was so flexible and easygoing about it. Definitely booking again!!! :)”

“Sammy had so much fun with Gail and Kris! She went on long nature walks, sniffed a lot of geese and ducks, watched birds and squirrels, and played with them at home when the weather is not so great. We trust the Spare Hoomans to give the best care for our pup. They always send up pictures and video updates of how they’re doing. We were super comfortable having them care for her during our long trip.”

“Jason and Rebecca go above and beyond, providing high quality care and updates. I can relax when I’m gone because I know our dog is in good hands. Highly recommend.”

“Jared was our lifesaver! After some bad luck, we were fortunate that Jared was able to take care of our Bruno pup while we were out of town. We had lots of updates each day and pictures. Bruno took to Jared immediately and we can’t wait for him to visit with Jared again. Thank you sooooo much!!”

“My two French bulldogs made themselves right at home with Piero and his family. They treated my doggos with great care and attention. It was also a huge plus that someone was always home with my girls. Piero was great with sending pictures and keeping me updated. It was super easy and I will be using him again to watch my dogs. 100 percent recommend - a wonderful sitter!”

“Rosie and Lorenzo were great, Chase had plenty of activities and companionship. They kept me well informed while caring for him with plenty of pics and videos. I could tell he was a little sad to leave. I will definitely have them care for Chase again.”

“My cat seemed very happy and comfortable with Patricia during my vacation. This time, my cat stayed with her for over a month, and I felt confident leaving Shanti for that long because of the positive experience we had previously. I will definitely return to Patricia for Shanti’s care the next time I am away.”

“Anne-Marie was terrific, all around. She was very communicative, quick to respond, and great with my dog, Rooster. It was Rooster’s first time boarding at another person’s home and everything points to Rooster having a great time with Anne-Marie! He got the exercise and stimulation that a high energy puppy needs. I’d highly recommend Anne-Marie to anyone else”

“We highly recommend Simmone should you need to board your dog. She was in constant communication with us, both before and after we dropped off Grover. She regularly sent us pictures of Grover's time with her. And most importantly, Grover was safe and happy. We will gladly utilize her services again when we next go out of town for a long weekend.”
“We left our precious Ruby with Pam and her family for two weeks and it was the best choice we could have made. Ruby was just finishing her first heat and scheduled to be spayed after we returned from our vacation, and having an unspayed dog was no problem for Pam. She send pics and videos while we were away so we could see our beloved pup. Ruby was so happy to play with her Chihuahua. She does not take in a bunch of dogs at once, which works out perfectly for Ruby, since she seems to cling to one dog at a time when she plays. Pam took great care of Ruby - maybe too great, as Ruby seemed to want to stay with her new best friend when I came to pick her up :-). It was a pleasure working with Pam and most of all a relief knowing that Ruby was in great hands.”

“We had a great experience with Camilo. He is super friendly and my dog had a blast. My dog has some dietary restrictions and he fulfilled our needs. He sent pictures of my dog every couple hours which was very helpful. I honestly have no complaints and would definitely recommend booking with him as I will be too in the future.”

“Anisa was great! We dropped off our dog for a week while my wife and I were out of the country, and Anisa gave us plenty of updates and photos of our pup. Our dog has a fear of new hardwood floors and Anisa made a whole blanketed path for her to walk on! Absolutely recommend”

“Tessa was great! My dog Katie was not just taken care of but she felt like she was right at home during our trip. I felt at ease and received updates on how they were all doing. Tessa lives almost an hour away but it was well worth the trip to know our dog was well taken care of. Highly recommend if you want your dog to feel comfortable but also being well taken care of by somebody who is not only a dog trainer but loves what she does. If you want your pet with a professional look no further!”

“Maria and Fernando were two of the best pet sitters we've ever had! We loved the daily communication and pictures. Our dog was so happy and not stressed when we came to pick her up. Communication was always quick and they were able to be flexible with our schedule. I would highly recommend this couple as excellent pet sitters!”

“Absolutely wonderful! They took extra care to ensure our German Shepherd girl would eat. She often will not eat while boarding. They made sure she felt comfortable and also sent us a ton of pics which made us feel very comfortable. Loved our experience with them!”

Karen took wonderful care of Munjee while we were away for nearly three weeks. We received consistent updates on how he was doing, including all sorts of pictures that he was well. Karen kept in touch with us and her communication was great. She also took time understood Munjee's reactive behavior in certain times and would do her best to accommodate. We will keep Karen in mind for future instances!

Melissa and her family were amazing with our senior dog, Maggie. It was wonderful to be able to go on vacation knowing that Maggie was in such loving and caring hands. She had a little adjustment period, and Melissa and her entire family were incredibly patient, loving, and accommodating. We truly appreciated the care and attention they gave her. I would highly recommend Melissa and her family to anyone looking for a wonderful, trustworthy pet sitter!

Wow, my boy, Paxton, hit the jackpot staying with Marissa and her family. Its hard handing off your boy to strangers. Within minutes of meeting them I knew it would be great and I was right. Marissa sent me daily updates including pictures. Paxton had tons of walks and play. He was treated like one of the family

Caden did an amazing job with our dog Pickles. He sent us pictures everyday we were gone so we could see how Pickles was doing. Pickles usually doesn’t eat well while we are gone so Caden was sure to message us about how things were going with Pickles eating and any ways he could get Pickles to eat his food. Leaving our baby with someone new was scary, but Caden made us feel assured Pickles was well cared for. Caden was quick to answer every question I had when setting up the care. Caden asked questions about taking care of our dog that I didn’t think of to make sure Pickles would have the best care possible. I was not worried about Pickles while we were gone he was well taken care of the entire time. I would highly recommend Caden to anyone.

Yuhui is absolute 5-star boarder! Extremely reliable and communicative, we received daily updates with pictures, videos, and texts while we were away for 7 days. Yuhui gave our Ashes a senior cat all the head scratches she craved and patiently brought our shy cat Alley out of her shell. We picked up two happy kitties. Highly recommend!

Shelley was amazing, and my dog Marley had a great time!! She sent lots of pictures and updates, which I really appreciated, and she was so accommodating with his health issues. It was such a relief knowing he was in such good hands. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! (:

My previous rover sitter cancelled a day before my scheduled booking. Israel was able to take my last minute booking for a long weekend with my senior disabled dog. She was very accommodating. My dog had meds that he was unwilling to take with his food even though I brought some shredded cheese for mix-ins, which turned out to be ineffective. Israel provided pill pockets and made sure my dog took his prescription meds. Israel’s was good about providing photos and status update every day. Yoshi seemed happy when I picked him up. I will definitely go back to Israel next time I need to be out of town.

Marylee and her family are absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't be happier with the care they provided for our dog. From the start, Marylee’s communication was excellent - she is a great listener, highly attentive, and genuinely kind. We felt completely heard and cared for during all of our interactions. It’s rare to find someone you can trust so completely, but Marylee and her family are some of the kindest people we’ve met. She went above and beyond to make sure our dog's extensive routine was completely undisrupted. She ensured he had plenty of walks, constant access to fresh water, timely meals, lots of playtime in the yard, and a cozy place to rest. The love and care she showed is the best we’ve experienced so far, and it shows because we always bring a happy dog home. We truly feel fortunate to know Marylee and cannot recommend her highly enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
