“So glad we found Nithya! She was available on short notice, super responsive, and very accommodating. Maestro was exhausted when he got home so he must have had lots of fun with Nithya and her other pups 😊.”

“Frankie absolutely loves his time with Theresa!!! I love that she regularly shares action pics and checks in to let me know everything is okay. She is the very best!”

“It was a last minute book, i was having an emergency, she was gentle to book and take my 12 years old dog to day care on Sunday, and provide a picture of him. I only can say, Thank you!!”

“John and Viona took great care of Chase. Gave him his meds and let him take it easy with their senior dog. We got photos and videos of our dog during our trip. And communication was a breeze. Would gladly recommend them.”

“Sharon is amazing. She took great care of our little hound girls. Our newest girl is quite shy and it was amazing how quickly she warmed up to Sharon — dogs must know great caregivers instinctively ;-) Communication was also excellent.”

“Todd took great care of Sunny. He has a comfortable home and it was an exiting time for Sunny to meet new human friends and doggie friends. Todd made the effort to take Sunny on long walks in the park. I’m sure that made Sunny happy. I would highly recommend Todd as a sitter!”

“Ana and her family showered Mowgli with cuddles, attention and lots of walks! We received several pictures throughout the day and communication was prompt. He came back happy and tired - all signs of a great stay!”

“This was our first time using Rover. We got daily updates and pictures. Our dog had a great time. The entire process was seamless from drop off to pick up. Will definitely be using Iwona again in the future!!!”

About: Hi! My husband and I are a young professional couple living in a clean, smoke-free two-level condo located in a quiet townhome community in Montgomery County. We do not have children, which allows us to provide a calm and relaxed environment where visiting dogs can feel comfortable, safe, and at home. I am a middle school math teacher who currently works part-time, giving me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive care. During the summer, I am off from school and have even greater availability for boarding, walks, playtime, and companionship. I grew up with a Chihuahua and have always enjoyed being around dogs. Having a pet as part of the family taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and providing a loving environment where dogs feel secure and cared for. As a teacher, I am responsible, dependable, and detail-oriented. I understand how important it is to know your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I will follow your pet’s routine closely, provide lots of attention and affection, and keep you updated with photos and messages throughout their stay. To ensure each dog receives personalized attention and a low-stress experience, we only host one family’s dog(s) at a time. This allows us to focus on your pet’s individual needs and provide a quieter, more comfortable stay. Whether your dog enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply relaxing nearby, I will do my best to make them feel like part of the family. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience for both you and your pet. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I am a middle school math teacher who currently works part-time, giving me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive care for your dog. During the summer months, I am off from school and have even greater availability for boarding. My husband works remotely from home, which means there is often someone home throughout the day. We both enjoy an active lifestyle and love spending time outdoors, making walks, playtime, and companionship a natural part of our routine. While there may occasionally be short periods when we are out running errands, working, or attending activities, we prioritize maintaining a safe, comfortable, and consistent environment for every dog in our care. We strive to keep your pet’s routine as close to normal as possible and provide plenty of attention, exercise, and affection throughout their stay. “Kathy did an amazing job taking care of our 2 dogs, and they are a good bit of work! One dog is 14 months old, with never ending energy and curiosity. We adopted her 6 months ago, and she is working through anxiety. She was not anxious at all with Kathy! Kathy's granddaughter was with them for part of the week and we heard the two of them became fast friends and were inseparable. Our second dog is 13years old, much lower energy, a picky eater, has medicine that is a game to get her to take. Kathy was great with our old pup as well! She ate most meals, took all her medicine, and looked very content. Kathy sent pictures, videos and updates twice a day, so we knew how they were doing everyday. I highly recommend Kathy to take care of your pups and will ask Kathy to take care of our dogs if available the next time we are out of town.”

“Andrea and Michael couldn’t have been sweeter to our little pup. They kept us up to date with pictures and gave our little guy his daily medications. We could tell that he enjoyed his time there immensely. We have used other sitters but have never been happier than we were with Andrea and Michael. We would not hesitate to use them again. Highly recommend.”

About: I am a nature lover, enjoying a healthy balance between being active and being a homebody. My top qualities are patience, attention to detail, and communication. I work well with anxious pets and senior pets needing extra attention. As a plus, I live with my family who all love and have had pets throughout their lives. I’m currently working part-time Monday through Friday. I usually leave for work at 1:30pm, and return home by 8:00pm. However, I always have at least two people at home so your pets will never be alone (or have to go too long without potty breaks) if you are boarding them here. I am available for boarding any night, and will gladly adjust my weekend plans depending on your pet’s attachment level. I love staying active, and enrichment for any animal is one of my top priorities. I live with my family in a safe and quiet neighborhood within walking distance of a large regional park with plenty of trails. I also have a basement and a large yard to accommodate your loved one’s comfort level. When visiting my clients’ homes I take extra care to adhere to their pets’ routines, habits, and preferences.

I had an emergency and Elliot was able to accommodate my GSD Astro last minute. Elliot’s experience in training gave me the peace of mind that Astro would be in good hands. He sent pictures, was responsive, and friendly! Astro was super happy when I picked him up so I will be booking again if needed in the future! :)

Aurora loves hanging out with Camilo and his wife! It’s like the best vacation, with multiple walks and enrichment activities everyday and someone with her at the house all day. Camilo is always my first call when I need to travel, because I know Aurora will be taken care of just as well as (or maybe even better than) if she were with me!

Mellie is a wonderful, kind and caring person, she took excellent care of Murray. It was the first time Murray stayed with Mellie, and she texted me whenever she had questions about him; she communicates very quickly.. It's very comforting knowing that Murray was getting such loving care while I was away. Thank you Mellie and Murray will definitely come to visit again-

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
