“"DJ" was very prompt and caring with our (large) dogs! We were so pleased with his attention to detail, we are going to request his services during our next trip without hesitation.”

“Lauren is great, my dog Theo took to her immediately as she has natural instincts connecting with dogs. She’s very conscientious in communicating, timely and most important absolutely has genuine affection and love of animals. Will definitely work with her again.”

About: My house has been filled with pets since before I was born! My family has rescued dogs, cats and horses from shelters, bad homes, and the streets in order to give them loving forever-homes. As an only child, my dogs and cats were more like siblings than pets. I've taken care of dogs since I was old enough to do chores and have loved every animal in my life, whether they were my family's pets or those of friends. I have two cats with me here in Maryland and a Lab and Corgi who are with my family in Minnesota! I'd love to take your pup on a walk or care for your dog or cat while you're away! I'm a graduate student with a fairly flexible schedule. I work from home and try to inject breaks into my day by taking walks, which I'd love to do with your dog! I have a vehicle and am happy to drive within my listed range to walk or sit for you. I have a townhouse with a back yard and there is a dog park 4 minutes from my home. Depending on your pet and their needs, I may be able to host your dog at my home while you're away. In my home, pets' safety, comfort, and needs are always met. Preventative measures are taken to make sure no dangerous objects/ingestibles are laying around. Water is always available and food is given at the proper times. Playtime and walking are essential, but proper leash and collar/harness and baggies are always a must when outside! To me, dogs are the focus of a walk and should not just be closely watched to make sure they are safe, but should also be engaged with, praised, and loved throughout. Similarly, pet-sitting is an active role that requires my attention--lucky for me I also get to have a blast playing with and caring for your dog while sitting!

About: Hi! I'm Darling, and I'm someone who genuinely enjoys caring for animals. While I'm new to Rover, I've always loved spending time with dogs and understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust. I'm responsible, patient, and detail-oriented, and I'll care for your dog as if they were my own. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, playing fetch, cuddle time, or simply relaxing, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away. I'm happy to follow your pet's normal routine, including feeding schedules, medications (if needed), potty breaks, exercise, and any special instructions. I'll also send regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for. I know every dog has their own personality, and I take the time to make sure each one feels comfortable and receives the attention they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! I'm currently available with a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide reliable and attentive care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, or plenty of playtime, I'm happy to work around their routine. I believe consistency is important, so I'll follow your pet's feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable and at ease. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I'll carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, and exercise routines. I always keep pets supervised, use secure leashes during walks, and make sure they have fresh water, a clean environment, and lots of attention. I'll also provide regular photo and video updates so you can feel confident knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away.

“Heidi was great with my babies. She communicated great. There was an issue with my address and it sent her to my old house. She was very understanding and went the extra mile to drive 30 minutes to my current house. You want a sitter like that. You should definitely book with Heidi.”

“Monats was super helpful and really came through for our pup during a schedule pinch! She took excellent care of Rosie and was very on top of making sure Rosie’s care requirements were met. And I really appreciated her experience and diligence in catching and thwarting my dogs attempts to eat sticks and mulch even though I had forgotten to warn in advance!”

“It was my first experience with Rover and Brittany and I am highly satisfied with everything. Brittany was absolutely great working with my dog Huku and always sent detailed Rover Cards which made me feel comfortable when I was away. She always messaged me when there were updates or concerns. She is fantastic and I am definitely going to return to her to work with my dog. Thank you very much!”

“Dee Dee is awesome! We can always count on her for weekly weekday walks. She always gives great updates and sends pictures during each visit. Happy we came across her profile on Rover!”

“Theresa is AMAZING! I used Rover for the first time last week and I was so nervous about my pup being home alone/meeting someone new but Theresa is a rockstar! My pup loved her and had a great time with Theresa. She texted me updates while I was at work and really made sure my pup was taken care of and put all my anxieties at ease. I will definitely be scheduling daily walks with Theresa!”

“I cannot recommend Jessica enough! She was fantastic with our two older dogs! It was the first time we left them with someone other than a friend, so I was a bit concerned as to whether our little dog (who is very skittish) would warm up to Jessica. I was also concerned because our bigger dog has a lot of medical issues (including mobility problems). Jessica was phenomenal. She arranged some time to come by and meet them and us beforehand. She asked really detailed questions - which let me know she was tuned into their care. She gave great updates on her visits and sent photos, too. Her updates let me know how well she was getting to know their unique quirks and personalities. She kept in touch with everything that came up - and even suggested some things to make our bigger dog more comfortable. I was blown away by the care she gave to our girls! Her thoughtfulness erased my concerns about how the dogs were doing while we were gone. I was able to relax and have a worry-free trip. And our little dog was giving her kisses and greeting her at the door after only a couple of visits! If we travel again without the dogs, I wouldn't want anyone else to care for our girls.”
“Laura is amazing!!!! She walked my skittish labradoodle, and it was clear my dog was fully at ease with Laura. She was timely, communicated well, and sent photos. Would highly recommend her to any dog owner!”

About: I’ve taken care for cats and dogs, bearded dragons, turtles, rabbits for 10+ years, my first animal job was a grooming salon in Brentwood md. I am now working at an animal clinic in Gaithersburg as a veterinary technician assistant. I am currently working full time at an animal clinic but on the weekends I am free or anytime after work feel free to contact me if you need someone asap or after work. I currently live in Gaithersburg apartment with two cats I’m currently not boarding any dogs in my home only cats, unless it’s for a short time.
About: I’ve had two dogs, and currently have one at home. I have trained both of these puppies, and with new pets I am not afraid to ask questions or accommodate to your pets’ needs. I am a full-time student, but I am looking for hobbies. I currently live at home so I have a flexible schedule. I already walk my own dog, so getting some more exercise in never hurts. I’d prefer to meet the pets beforehand so that they are comfortable with me. I want to let dogs get the most stimulation out of their walk by letting them sniff a lot.
“Hana is a truly kind and caring animal lover who took exceptional care of our pup Dexter (and his humans by providing lots of updates and super cute photos) while we were out of town! Highly recommend her and we plan to ask her to come back for future dog walking/pet sitting needs too!!”

“Leslie was great with our black Lab, Sophie. She did a home visit first, and we talked about Sophie’s routine, predilections, and personality. We walked together and Leslie took the leash, handling Sophie well. She did a bunch of mid-day walks for us, and sent updates (usually with a photo or two). She usually responds quickly to texts and was flexible with me when I had to reschedule. Sophie and I were both happy!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for years through friends, family, and pets I've had the opportunity to care for along the way. Those experiences taught me that every dog has a unique personality, routine, and comfort level, and I take the time to learn what makes each pet feel safe and happy. Today, I'm the proud owner of a Cavapoo puppy, Oreo, which has given me daily hands-on experience with puppy care, exercise, feeding routines, enrichment activities, and positive reinforcement. Caring for my own dog has strengthened my understanding of the patience, consistency, and attention that great pet care requires. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. That's why I prioritize communication, reliability, and regular photo updates so you can feel confident your pet is receiving the same level of care and attention I'd want for my own. Whether your dog enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to a familiar routine, my goal is to help them feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home. Because I work from home, I'm able to maintain a flexible schedule and be present for the pets in my care throughout the day. This allows me to provide regular walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of attention while keeping pets comfortable and on their usual routine. My goal is to create a safe, stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. Because I work from home, I'm able to maintain a flexible schedule and be present for the pets in my care throughout the day. This allows me to provide regular walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of attention while helping pets stay comfortable and on their usual routine. I also have a friendly Cavapoo puppy, Oreo, who loves companionship and can be a great playmate for dogs who enjoy being around other pets. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Gaithersburg
“Romario was fantastic with Nalu! He was incredibly communicative throughout, always letting me know exactly when he arrived and when he was leaving, plus sending pictures during the walk so I could see Nalu having a great time. That level of communication put my mind completely at ease. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he walks; Nalu came home happy and well-exercised every time. He’s reliable, punctual, and clearly experienced with different dog personalities. I’d trust him with Nalu again in a heartbeat and recommend him to anyone looking for a walker who treats their pup like family.”

We did a meet and greet earlier in the week and it went great. My dog can be shy with strangers so she was patient and let him sniff her. Then for the scheduled walk, they walked along a trail that I recommended since my dog is people and dog reactive. She gave him more water and put him back in the playpen as requested which is important since he gets into stuff. Overall, great experience.

I am so thankful and pleased with Dymond! She took care of my 8 month puppy with such ease, although he is not easy! She was so patient when he was nervous and so calm when he was wild. I will absolutely use Dymond again and again! She also sent photos, videos, and updates! Thank you!!

Lynette was amazing. We did a meet-and-greet, and told her that our pup likes walking but also sniffing. Lynette took a ton of pictures and Lucy was obviously enjoying her walks. I have a high degree of trust that Lynette could house sit my pets, and will definitely look to her for future care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
