“Mary was wonderful with out puppy. She was very patient and did a really good job at communicating with us. She send us great pictures of our Carlos, we are thankful for her help. Definitely hiring her again!”

About: I’ve cared for my own dog from puppyhood into her senior years, giving me experience with different stages of a dog’s life and their changing needs. I’m also the trusted dog sitter in my family and regularly care for my aunt’s dog when she needs help. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection. I’m reliable, patient, and will care for your dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I am currently a college student at the University of Maryland and am home for break, which gives me a flexible schedule to provide reliable, attentive care for your dog. I have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment for every dog in my care. I make sure they always have fresh water, regular bathroom breaks, plenty of exercise, and lots of attention throughout the day. I enjoy taking dogs on walks, playing with them, and making sure they feel comfortable and relaxed. Since I have a dog of my own, I understand how important it is to follow each dog’s routine and treat them like family.
“We’re so glad we found Alyssa. She was easy-going and stayed in great communication throughout, which meant a lot to us. Aoife and Klay can be a little particular and don’t always warm up to new people quickly, but Alyssa handled them effortlessly and they clearly adored her. It’s a relief to know they were in such good hands. We’d book her again in a heartbeat and recommend her without hesitation.”

“Caroline was awesome with my babies and really cared for them as if they were her own. Communicated throughout the days with me and I appreciate that. Will definitely hire her again!”

“Didi is friendly and has a clear love of animals! She arrived promptly, sent photos, and left a message about how the walk went. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“We are so thankful for Gabriela. She went above and beyond when George rolled in mess during their walk today. Gabriela took extra time to clean him up. It really showed how much care and attention she gives. Reliable, thoughful and truly treats our Dog as her own. We do appreciate your help Gabriela.”

“Taylor has done a great job walking our dogs in the afternoon! He interacts with them great and seems to appreciate their unique personalities, haha. He is communicative, arrives on time, and also sends a quick update when the walk is over. I’d be happy to recommend Taylor, and we will be working with him again.”

“Lynnette did do a great job with my dog, Susie. She communicates very well. I appreciate her flexibility and openness. Susie really likes her a lot! I definitely want to ask her to walk Susie more in the future. Highly recommended.”
About: I have worked with puppies for 3.5 years and loved each and every one of them! Nothing makes me happier. This is a dream job. Hello! I’m an experienced and passionate pet lover with a lifetime of caring for animals! My journey began in childhood with my poodle, Pepper, who taught me the joy and responsibility of pet ownership. I helped walk, feed, and play with him daily, which sparked my love for caring for animals. As a parent, I raised two wonderful dogs and cared for four cats throughout my daughter’s upbringing. I even worked at a puppy shop for 3.5 years, where I gained hands-on experience grooming puppies, cleaning their living spaces, and administering oral medications. Now my husband and I are proud pet parents to a 5-year-old French Bulldog, Lola, who has become the heart of our home as empty nesters. I take joy in cooking for her, taking her on regular walks, and making playtime a priority. With decades of experience and a true love for animals, I understand the importance of providing pets with the care, attention, and affection they deserve. Whether it's walking, feeding, or playing, I’d love to care for your furry family members as if they were my own. When caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s home, I prioritize their comfort, safety, and happiness. I take the time to understand each pet’s unique needs, routines, and personality to ensure they feel loved and secure while under my care. For dogs, I provide regular walks tailored to their energy levels, ensure they’re fed according to their specific dietary needs, and spend quality time playing and cuddling to make them feel at home. I’m experienced with preparing fresh meals if required and oral administering medications when needed. For cats, I ensure their feeding schedules are maintained, litter boxes are clean, and I offer plenty of play and affection (or give them space if that’s their preference!). In a client’s home, I treat the space with respect and maintain the pet’s familiar routines to help reduce stress while you’re away. My goal is to give your pets the same level of care and love I provide to my own.
“I have been extremely satisfied with the dog walking services provided by Cornell over the past months. He has consistently demonstrated exceptional reliability, arriving punctually for every scheduled walk and maintaining clear communication throughout our arrangement. His genuine care for my dogs has been evident in the detailed updates and photos he shared after each outing, ensuring they received attentive, safe, and engaging exercise. I highly recommend his professional and trustworthy services to any pet owner seeking a dependable dog walker.”

“We are so grateful for everything you have done for us! You have been so kind and helpful to Bailey especially as he has made the transition from the shelter to our home. Thank you for making this process so smooth! Wishing you all the best :)”

“Monats was super helpful and really came through for our pup during a schedule pinch! She took excellent care of Rosie and was very on top of making sure Rosie’s care requirements were met. And I really appreciated her experience and diligence in catching and thwarting my dogs attempts to eat sticks and mulch even though I had forgotten to warn in advance!”

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I have mainly taken care of my neighbors' pets, my friends' pets and of course my own. I have pet-sitted for dogs of all sizes, cats and fish. At home I have 3 cats, 3 dogs, 3 guinea pigs, 3 ferrets, a crested gecko and a tree frog. I am reliable and punctual. I am caring and kind. I am also flexible and will follow any schedule or instructions. I am a college student at the University of Maryland and during the summer I do have class on Friday morning. Besides my class schedule I am very flexible. I will follow any instructions that you provide as they are unique to each pet. If taking care of a dog I will never take them out without a leash or fenced in yard. If taking care of a cat I will make sure to keep them inside at all times. If you need me to take care of a small animal I will always make sure they are in their enclosure before I leave. I am very paranoid and will always make sure your pets are safe.
About: I have been taking care of dogs from a very young age. Friends and family have trusted and always relied on me to walk, feed, bathe and stay with their pets while they are out of town. I love caring for dogs, it actually helps to bring me a clear peace of mind and releases me from anxiety. Fur babies brighten my day and fill me with joy I love having a companion by my side especially because I don't have any pets of my own currently. I would love to be given the opportunity to care for and nurture your pets! I'm currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to dedicate to looking after your pups! I am free 7-days a week, only gone on the weekends for a few hours during the evening. I live in a townhouse and have a fenced-in yard with plenty of room to run around. I don't have any dogs of my own. I love to go on walks throughout the day in my neighborhood to get some sunshine, so your dogs would be taken out multiple times a day. I can easily crate the dogs if necessary. Willing to do whatever to create a fun, loving, and safe environment for your pups!
“Really appreciate Collin's flexibility and how well he was able to work with my pup. Was consistent with communication and understanding of any requests made. Will definitely choose Collin again!”

About: I am pretty new to this but I have watched taken care of big and small dogs in the past with their own specific needs. I am available all day Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs. As for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I am available after 5:30pm. I may be able to accommodate more days if my work schedule opens up. I will just let you know :) I am very vigilant and detail oriented. I will make sure that everything is left the EXACT same way it was as I entered. If not better. As for my own home, I do not have the capacity to keep a dog unfortunately.
About: Know that your dog is safe and comfortable on their walks in the hands of a qualified, positive reinforcement dog trainer! My reactive-inclusive walks can alleviate reactivity by preventing unwanted habits (barking, lunging, etc.) and encouraging calm behaviors on walks. These walks are great not only for reactive or fearful dogs, but also folks with puppies who want proper and positive socialization, or simply anyone who wants their dog to be in qualified hands. I am currently available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays starting at 11am. Last walk is at 2pm or 5pm depending on the day of the week. I'm happy to provide your pup with whatever they need in your home. I can play with them on leash, or off leash in your backyard. I can crate them or not, give them a Kong when I leave - whatever works for you and your pup!

I would highly recommend Kris and Gail for any pet care needs. Kris was so attuned to Maki’s personality and behaviors when they first met and clearly great with dogs. I appreciate the great communication, detailed updates, and all around genuine, thorough, and attentive care. Thank you so much!

Lynette was amazing. We did a meet-and-greet, and told her that our pup likes walking but also sniffing. Lynette took a ton of pictures and Lucy was obviously enjoying her walks. I have a high degree of trust that Lynette could house sit my pets, and will definitely look to her for future care.

Aoife and Klay can be a little particular and don’t always warm up to new people quickly, but Alyssa handled them effortlessly and they clearly adored her. Heidi was great with my babies. She communicated great. There was an issue with my address and it sent her to my old house. She was very understanding and went the extra mile to drive 30 minutes to my current house. You want a sitter like that. You should definitely book with Heidi.

We are so thankful for Gabriela. She went above and beyond when George rolled in mess during their walk today. Gabriela took extra time to clean him up. It really showed how much care and attention she gives. Reliable, thoughful and truly treats our Dog as her own. We do appreciate your help Gabriela.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
