Ming and the CARE Family!

Shortly after being born (about 2 hours or so) I knew I loved animals. I adopted my first dog who taught me so much about myself and how to be a better person and help me understand dogs. She was believed to be non-intelligent dog, however, she could learn any trick I could think of in less than 5 minutes. She passed in 2009. After she passed I vowed to myself that I would do what I could to help and give a voice to animals. Since then I have been working, supporting, and helping animals and organizations to better the lives of animals.

My experience includes over 25 years of animal care along with dog training, rehabilitating domesticated/feral/wild dogs, dogs with behavioral problems, vet experience and experience with various other animals including cats, ferrets, hedgehogs, turtles, rabbits, chinchillas, and birds.

I currently work and volunteer for Capital Animal Rescue and Environmental Foundation, Taiwan SPCA as well as other organizations. I also have experience at a vet clinic assisting with hundreds of surgeries and medical treatment for dogs and cats. In just one typical day at the clinic, I would assist with surgeries and treatments on average for 40 dogs and cats. I gained a wealth of experience through volunteering with the vet which I thoroughly enjoyed.

About my family: We ALL love dogs!!!! If my family and friends didn't, they wouldn't live with me! Everyone loves to help out and cuddle the pups. We work as a team and have a well organized system in watching the pups. We strive to provide the greatest cuddling service possible. There are many of us that live in the house and work together to provide our furry guest the best vacation stay possible. We love when the pups are happy and that makes us even happier. We live in bliss with all the pups! Come meet the family!

I offer a spacious open home for all furry guest. The home is the purfect home for your pet. There is almost always someone around to hang out, play and relax with your pet. Training available upon request (additional). All cute pups (they are all cute pups to me no matter what their age, breed or looks are!) will get lots of love, exercise, and playtime. All pups will also be spoiled if allowed and if you don't allow it, It'll just be between me and your pup :-) . I will only crate your pet upon request. I prefer the animals to have the run of the house and to be completely relaxed as if they were at home.

Important notes:

1. All dogs have to be cute! (in my book, all animals are cute so that's an easy one!) We take all kinds of pups!

2. Bring food, treats, collar, leash, DOG TAGS and favorite toys.

3. Relax the dog prior to arrival by taking him/her on a long long long walk/run. Make sure they’ve pee'd and pooped already.

4. Please mention any quirks your pup may have, IE: marking, biting, barking, aggression, doesn't like car rides, terrified, ect... Don't worry because I will still take them in if I can. I just need to know what I'm working with and how to help them.

5. Preferred CHECK IN/OUT TIME before 9am and after 7pm. If we need to make other arrangements just let me know.

6. Make sure your dog is clean and groomed. No super stinky pups. I like to cuddle them (if they like of course) and I like to stay clean too. Please brush/furminate them if you can. Much appreciated.

Please note that I take care of many dogs throughout the stay. I believe dogs and animals should live and socialize in a safe pack in order to keep them healthy and happy. You can see in my pictures how all the dogs, foster animals, cats, and chinchillas, and birds all get along with each other.

I have loved and cared for dogs for over 30 years.

We have a large house, and now that our kids are off to college, there is a lot of room.

I only take small to medium size dogs. Maximum of 40 lbs.

Our own dog, Max, who is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, has been with us for 13 years, and has recently passed away. Our home is suited for smaller dogs, as we allow them to play wherever they like.

They are welcome to sleep wherever they are comfortable from our bedroom, to the sunroom to the basement. They are greeted promptly and warmly in the morning with whatever routine they may have.

While we understand that an accident may happen, we only host dogs who are house trained.

We have a very quiet neighborhood not far from Maplewood Park, and I will walk your dog 3-4 times a day.

Our vet, is a 3 minute walk from our house (just in case)

IMPORTANT:

The first step is to send me a message via Rover about your dog(s), breed, size, age, and the dates of your planned reservation. I'm known for responding quickly. We can talk by phone first, or via Rover messaging, to set up a Meet and Greet if we think we're a good match. After the Meet and Greet, we'll set up your reservation if all goes well.

I have been caring for dogs for over 30 years, and love every dog dearly.

I treat all of our guest dogs the same way I treat Max, with love and care.

I look forward to caring for your dog!

Policy for weekend or one or two night stays:

If your dog arrives early in the morning for drop off and leaves late in the day/evening for pick up, there will be a $25 day charge added as a custom quote. This policy is only for the very short stays and will not effect stays longer than three or more days.

Thank you for understanding.

Please note that I REQUIRE a meet-n-greet for any first-time guest PRIOR to approving any stays.

**During the Covid 19 pandemic, there will be no penalties for last-minute cancellations. We will remain flexible as the situation evolves.**

We are a family that has lifetimes of dog experience. From fosters to having our own spoiled-rotten pooches, we adore being around pups. As a stay-at-home mom to two boys and my other furry babies, your pup will have around-the-clock care; as many walks as he/she would like; access to two fenced yards; plenty of attention; supervised play (if your dog is interested) with the even-tempered, very dog-friendly Masondog; and meticulous care based on your instruction. My husband and I are no stranger to dogs that have behavior problems. Anything besides aggression towards children, we can do our best to accommodate. Our children are used to being around all animals and have excellent manners and smarts, treating animals with the upmost respect.

Our furniture is as dog-friendly as we are!

We have a small farm with two fenced yards where more playful pups can run and wrestle to their hearts’ content in the back while calmer dogs who want to avoid the fray can sniff around, nap in the sun in the front yard. Dogs are welcome to come and go from the house as they please, aren’t left outside if they don’t care to be.

I'm sure your pup would love the country vacay and we'd love to have him/her visit!

About this sitter:

Because I am a stay/work-at-home mom, I have the luxury of offering around-the-clock care and assure you that your pup will be treated like a member of the family.

I'm originally from The midwest but grew up in NC and VA. I'm a George Mason grad, have been in the DC area for 15+ years, and in the Ag Reserve for 6+. I am a lifelong animal lover, owner, and advocate and love nothing more than to spend my days caring for and playing with them.

Why I love dog sitting

I was born into a family that loved all animals (though, as my family would attest, I was "next level." By the time I was 9, I was volunteering at the local SPCA, spending most of my summer vacation walking dogs through the lunch yards of local plants and factories trying to get even the toughest cases adopted, taking home orphan kittens and puppies to bottle-feed to give them their only chance at survival. I volunteered from that summer into college as we moved from Indiana to North Carolina to Virginia. Once I was out of school and settled, I began fostering. We adopted 3 of those fosters and still volunteer and advocate for local rescues.

Meet my pets

2 dog-friendly cats but they have access to a dog-proof laundry room and know to keep themselves scarce when there are less cat-friendly dog guests.

We also have a backyard hobby farm (on the other side of a reinforced fence :-) that include goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens, and ducks.

I am well-versed in topical, oral, nasal, and injected medication and have had pet first aid training.

WARNING: Excessive Dog Lovers here!Silver Spring, MD

So you have to go out of town, eh? And (insert your fur baby’s name here) can’t tag along... *The Horror!* The good news is... We are those pet parents that dread having to leave our pups- so we TOTALLY GET IT! Don't leave your dog in an overcrowded kennel or "doggy daycare"! Leave your family member in the hands (and hearts) of loving animal enthusiasts! We have a fully fenced yard for ample outdoor playtime, and plenty of space in our home for your fur baby to make our home their second home! Dogs become part of us and our family, so rest assured knowing they are being treated like the crème de la crème pups that they are!

So... Whats the deal with this Josh guy?!

Why, Hello! I am a animal lover that treats others pets as if they were my own. If I was to leave my dogs in the hands of someone, I would want to make sure they are well taken care of, and that is exactly what I have to offer you! I have grown up around dogs all my life, and love to treat my pups to nice walks, days at the dog parks, TONS of cuddles and kisses and much more! Your animals will get the same luxurious treatment that I have given my own animals. I will "adopt" them and take care of them so you will have NOTHING to worry about. I enjoy photography and can’t wait to capture gorgeous memorable portraits of your furry family member!

Wait, who is this Andres guy?!

Hey there! I, like Josh have grown up around dogs my whole life. I also volunteered at the Humane Society in Miami, and got extensive experience in dealing with many different types of dogs and situations. Working in the shelter gave me a lot of compassion, love and a heart for all types of animals. My dogs are truly my best friends and I love that no matter what my day may look like, they are always happy dogs that have nothing but love for me. I look forward to taking care of your beautiful pups for you!

If you like what you see, hit us up with a general inquiry or meet & greet request!

*We operate similar to a hotel, so checkout time is 11AM. If you need to pick up after that time, an additional daycare fee will be applied to the last day of the stay.*

*Daycare drop off time starts at 7AM, and pickup time is by 7PM.*

I am blessed to dedicate my life to furr babies.

I do not have another job and dedicate myself to them.

I make accommodations for every baby.

I treat all babies like my own children. I never yell or get upset if they have an accident or break a toy...they are just babies all their life who are a blessing to be with.

We go for walks, car rides, to the lake, and on the numerous trails and periodically I make homemade chicken treats from recipes gotten from all animals magazine.

They have trained me well over the years to appreciate their true love and unconditional affection.

There are beds and toys provided and are allowed to make themselves at home. They are allowed on the furniture, and if they desire can sleep in any of the beds in the house.

Dietary restrictions are followed and are provided with much love and affection.

Puppies accepted when able to accommodate when another boarding baby would not be affected.

I send photos and videos to parents to keep them updated on their babies care.

Home Away From Home - Day/OvernightGermantown, MD

UPDATE: We have recently moved from Texas to Maryland! We are settled in our new home and ready to take on furclients. Super excited to meet new furbabies! :)

My name is Jessica, I have a little boy who's 9 years old and we both LOVE animals! We currently have 2 of our own furbabies in our house and we love them to pieces, plus a new addition - a bearded dragon! Your animals will be well taken care of and treated with the same amount of love as you give your furbabies! I have grown up mainly around dogs, but have also had pets of these types: Fish, Gerbils, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Birds (Green Quaker, Love Birds, Quakers, Cockatiels, Parakeets, African Grey, and even an Umbrella Cockatoo), as well as a rabbit & bearded dragons! Can't you tell I love animals?! :)

My house is mostly carpet free - in case of accidents (also in case my son spilled something haha) hopefully none will happen! We will be replacing the carpet with some new wood type flooring in the near future! Animals are unpredictable sometimes! I have a medium size doggy door leading to my fenced backyard for any small/medium sized dogs to easily have outdoor access when they're needing it in between walks. I will also grant the bigger dogs access to the backyard for some refreshing sunlight, but have them back inside before they get overwhelmed with the lovely summer heat we get here!

I have experience pet sitting way back when I was around 11 years old. I started pet sitting for my neighbor's animals and through out the years, I have grown to learn how to care for various animals.

I also am a foster doggy parent and have fostered a few dogs who have already found their fur-ever homes! I have rescued 2 pregnant momma dogs from the pound and took care of them while they gave birth and kept them safe and secure until they were all ready to be found their fur-ever homes!

Why I love dog sitting

I believe I was a dog lover the moment I was born! I begged and begged my parents for a dog for years until finally my mother took me to adopt our first dog when I was 8 years old... Muffin - she was a Shih-Tuz puppy when we got her and she lived to be almost 14 years old before we had to put her down for health reasons.

About my yard

My backyard is fully fenced. I check regularly for any broken boards, holes, etc to make sure no sneaky escapees can get out (like my two furgirls). Their safety is my #1 priority!

My experience administering medication

Yes - if the medication is taken orally or through drops I am fully capable of doing so. I have given a few diabetic dogs insulin shots in the past.

Come Play With Fun Loving BichonsPotomac, MD

Dog loving family with decades of experience, with all types of dogs: large, small, and puppies. Dogs are rarely left unattended, as we work from home. Show dog standard cleaning equipment ensures dogs are dry after their multiple daily walks. We guarantee that doggy massages are awesome. Vari Kennels are used for meals and sleeping, otherwise dogs are out, running and playing. Last minute bookings can be accommodated. Seven of our Bichons live here full time. We have spare Vari Kennels for small to medium dogs, but larger dogs please bring your own kennel. Full professional dog grooming is also available upon request. Dematting surcharge for combing out (not shaving) severe matting to avoid the poor dog's coat recovery taking forever.

We do not charge fees for any amount of walks, treats, playtime or other such items some Rover.com sitters feel need additional charges. Our over night sitting rate is a flat fee, and is always processed through Rover for everyone's benefit.

Why I love dog sitting

We have had all types of dogs, our entire lives. The majority of experience has been with larger dogs, including a Rotti pack in the late 1990s and early 2000s. For decades dogs have found our energy claiming and peaceful, most likely because they sense that we will keep every dog safe. Additionally, Robin's degree was in Animal Science Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a minor in Biology.

About my yard

Both front and backyards have a lot of space (see pictures), but neither is fenced in. This is why we do not let dogs simply run around outside without close supervision. We do have a very large basement area for that kind of play, when we have friends over (see pictures). This play area is preferred by all, when it's raining or snowing outside.

Unfortunately, due to COVID19, I am only accepting repeat customers during this time period.

Thank you for your understanding.

If you are a repeat client and you see the calendar marked as full/unavailable, please check with me as I can often take you!

Your home away from home for your beloved pet. Cody, Izzy, and I absolutely love having other dogs here and your pup will be loved and cared for like one of the family. I am a typical dog mom and get very nervous when my pups have to go to boarding so fully understand that you will be too. Rest assured, I will love them to pieces and take great care of them.

I have had dogs of my own for 25 years. I have been taking care of friend's dogs as well as fostering dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages for the past seven years, so I have a wealth of experience dealing with all different personalities and needs. I am certified in animal first aid and CPR. I have happy to give any medications. Please let me know if your pup has any dietary restrictions when you drop them off. (eg grain-free, allergies, etc) Your dog must be up to date on all shots including bordetella. I recommend they have a canine flu vaccination too.

The only things you need to bring are their food and treats. I have beds, bowls, and toys galore! I don't crate my dogs and yours won't be either unless that's what they are used to. I have a large crate and also have a small one. You are welcome to bring your own crate if that works for you.

I live in a single-family home with a fully fenced back garden so your pup will be able to run around the garden as well as take daily walks around the neighborhood. I never let them outside unattended. When they're in the garden, I am right there with them. If it is nice weather they are free to lounge on the deck which is gated from the rest of the garden.

Cody is a rescue dog from City Dogs Rescue. He was my first foster and never left! He is now seven years old and loves having friends of all shapes and sizes come to stay. He is amazingly patient and loves to play with his friends, but also understands when they need their space. He is great with smaller dogs despite his size. Izzy is a tiny dog with a big dog soul. She came as foster number 32 from Capital Canines and was such a perfect fit she stayed! Even though she is tiny, she loves all other dogs, especially big ones! She loves to play. She is two years old. Cody and Izzy have the run of the house and sleep with me so if that is what yours is used to, that's fine. If they are crate trained, have restrictions on where to sleep, or space restrictions, just let me know. I have a series of dog gates so if I feel your pup needs to have space and down time, they can have that without feeling they are shut in. I use the dog gates for feeding time too if they need their own space. When I have dogs arriving or leaving, I will keep them separated in other rooms to avoid too much excitement and negate the risk of anyone escaping. Other than that, they are never shut in.
