“Mary is awesome! First of all, for navigating the Rover app and making appointments, as a first-time Rover user, I was completely lost and Mary has been with me every step of the way. And comes to the most important part — taking care of my very anxious and grumpy cat Pumpkin, Mary completely won him over! Mary is very detail-oriented and focuses on how best to take care of Pumpkin, which includes not only the daily chores of feeding and cleaning, but also what to do to make Pumpkin less anxious during our time away. Mary’s detailed reports were a joy to read and put me at ease when I was traveling. As luck would have it, our flight coming back got delayed, and Mary graciously picked up another day to take care of Pumpkin! Safe to say, we found the one!”

“Candice is a dependable and very compassionate pet sitter for our cat, Charley. He’s well taken care of and we have no concerns when he is in Candice’s care. We would highly recommend her to others.”

“Susan has been absolutely fantastic as a dog walker! She is reliable, punctual, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. My dog immediately felt comfortable with her, which gave me great peace of mind. She always provides updates after walks and goes the extra mile to make sure my dog is happy and well cared for.”

“Lynnette did a great job taking care of my cats while I was away. Very reliable, and professional. She took extra time to play with them and even my shy cat, Mia came out of hiding to be greeted and petted. I would highly recommend her for cat sitting. You are a rock star, Lynnette!”

“Dee Dee was a last minute fill-in for our regular pet sitter who hurt his knee and we couldn’t have gotten luckier! She is thorough, gentle, and patient with our old grumpy kitties. Highly recommend!”

“Sandra was awesome. She sent me updates and pictures after every visit. She treated Cleo as she was her own pet. She was a wonderful caretaker. Definitely will have her take care of Cleo again. Thank you, Sandra!”

“Mary took great care of my cat, Sammie. I received short notice about a work trip, and Mary's care for Sammie gave me great peace of mind during a hectic time. She was kind, reliable, and I really appreciated the daily updates she provided. I definitely recommend booking with her if you're looking for someone to care for your pets!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all kinds for years and have three of my own, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I’m studying to become a veterinarian and work part-time at a pet store, which has given me strong knowledge of pet health, behavior, and nutrition. I also have hands-on experience fostering senior dogs, sitting for cats, caring for a pregnant dog, and helping raise a litter of seven puppies. I’m comfortable with dogs of all ages and needs, and I always treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I know our pets are our children, I wont treat them as any less! I also know fish, small animal and reptile care very well! Se habla español! 🤗 I’m currently a part-time student, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m available most days for walks, drop-ins, and sitting, including weekends. I can easily adjust my routine to fit your pet’s needs and keep their schedule consistent. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fenced yard and three friendly small-to-medium sized dogs who are used to being around other pets. I always supervise interactions and make sure every dog feels safe and comfortable. I’m also able to follow any specific routines, feeding schedules, or crate needs you have. Whether your pet loves to play or prefers a calm environment, I’ll make sure they feel at home, well loved, and cared for!

I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection. I am currently a college student at the University of Maryland and am home for break, which gives me a flexible schedule to provide reliable, attentive care for your dog. I provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment for every dog in my care. I make sure they always have fresh water, regular bathroom breaks, plenty of exercise, and lots of attention throughout the day. I enjoy taking dogs on walks, playing with them, and making sure they feel comfortable and relaxed. About: When I was little I begged my parents for a pet, finally they agreed and we rescued a Golden Retriever mix puppy,Sebastian, so animals have been a part of my heart from the very beginning. He was my best friend for almost 13 years. We went on walks, dog park play dates, hikes, and many car rides. He was also my movie night buddy. I also have some experience with fish, I had a betta fish and hope to start new aquarium set ups soon. In the future I plan on rescuing more animals, both cats and dogs. These days, I'm a proud cat mom to Cleo and Pearl, my one-year-old duo who keep me on my toes. By day I work in a science lab, but my evenings are filled with live music, painting, crocheting (yes, I’ve made my cats bandanas) and making sure my babies are loved. I have experience walking dogs of all ages, from energetic pups to gentle seniors, and I'm comfortable handling pet medications, so you can trust your fur baby is in safe, attentive hands. I treat every pet like family and am committed to giving them the very best care while you're away. I am available on the weekends and some weekday evenings after 5pm for dog walks or drop in visits. On the weekends I can also do multiple drop ins I would like to meet the pets before the initial walk or drop in. Also like to discuss their schedules and anything else I’d need to know about them and their routines

About: I am pretty new to this but I have watched taken care of big and small dogs in the past with their own specific needs. I am available all day Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs. As for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I am available after 5:30pm. I may be able to accommodate more days if my work schedule opens up. I will just let you know :) I am very vigilant and detail oriented. I will make sure that everything is left the EXACT same way it was as I entered. If not better. As for my own home, I do not have the capacity to keep a dog unfortunately.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Germantown
Jasmin has been the best sitter we’ve had for our drop-in visits. She is incredibly accommodating, even with last-minute reservations, and always makes the process stress-free. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing our pets are in good hands. We truly appreciate her reliability, flexibility, and the care she gives every visit. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and dependable!

We are so thankful and appreciative of Sara! She took excellent care of our two cats while we were away. With her detailed descriptions of the visits and pictures, our minds were put at ease during our little trip away. We will definitely be requesting Sara for our next trip to care for our kitties!

Dee Dee saved our vacation as she was able to watch our cat last-minute on a holiday weekend after our care fell through. She was responsive to my messages and provided excellent care to our cat, who was being left home alone for the first time. While he was slightly annoyed at us for leaving, he was well fed and emotionally and physically stimulated while we were away, as demonstrated by how put together and not destroyed our house was when we returned. We will definitely use Dee Dee again when we go out of town!

Lynette took care of 3 of my cats. One needed eye drops, one needed pills and the third just needed lovies. She did a good job at administrating the medicine! My cats were happy overall and were taken care of very well. Food, water, litter were cleaned at a timely manner. She provided written update each visit with lots of pictures too! Thank you!

We loved having Tim look after our cat for the week! He was so kind and patient with our very senior furball. On top of the time he took to give lots of love and playtime, Tim kept perfect track of meds and food. What’s more—was so nice in managing a few bouts of ‘tummy trouble’. We would totally book him again!

Anna has been wonderful with our pup for drop-in visits. She’s a great communicator, always keeping us updated and making us feel at ease while we’re away. He can be shy with new people, but he warmed up to Anna surprisingly quickly, which says a lot. We’ve had a really positive experience and absolutely recommend her.

Susan has been absolutely fantastic as a dog walker! She is reliable, punctual, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. My dog immediately felt comfortable with her, which gave me great peace of mind. She always provides updates after walks and goes the extra mile to make sure my dog is happy and well cared for.

Hope always takes great care of our pets, follows our care instructions, and communicates timing and needs. We love having Hope care for our pets when we can’t be home as they are always happy and well cared for when we return. This is not the first time we’ve booked with Hope and it won’t be our last. Thank you, Hope!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
