“I contacted Candice last minute for a drop-in visit. Not only did she agree to help me out, but she made time to stop by and meet my dogs ahead of time. And then accommodated my request for an earlier visit when my schedule changed. Candice is friendly and easy to work with, knowledgeable and caring. I look forward to using her again!”

“I so appreciate Lynnette caring for my cats, Fredo and Fifi, while I was away. She did an amazing job keeping me updated and accommodating a couple tweaks to their feeding schedule. Both cats are shy and wanted to hide, but she was sure to locate them each visit, let me know how they are, send some photos, and to provide enrichment for them even though they weren’t up to directly playing. Thanks, Lynnette!”

“Rene was lovely. She was kind, timely, responsive, and I very much trusted her with my cat. My cat was a brat, and she was very sweet about the situation. I would absolutely book her again and recommend her to anyone in need of a pet sitter.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since 2000 and cats since I was 8. From kitten, puppies to senior dogs and cats, I love them all. I will care for your dog like they were my own. I currently work from home everyday. I can walk dogs before work, pet sit all day, or watch them in the evening or overnight. I am available for long stays as well. I have no pets at this time so your pet can be comfortable and roam around freely. I can feed, play with and give lots of attention.
“Kenneth always takes great care of our cat, Bandit. He is flexible and easy to work with. We have used him several times and will definitely book him again in the future!”

“Dee Dee was a last minute fill-in for our regular pet sitter who hurt his knee and we couldn’t have gotten luckier! She is thorough, gentle, and patient with our old grumpy kitties. Highly recommend!”

About: Since I was born, my parents and my family have owned pets. From my birth my siblings have owned their own birds, we owned a Dove for multiple years and owned a Black Labrador from birth. I am a high school senior, who will soon be graduating and will not be going to school far. I'll be able to work today, next week, all summer and beyond, due to my flexible school schedule. I will review the needs of the client pertaining to their individual needs and their pets individual needs before and during my visit with them.

“Susan has been absolutely fantastic as a dog walker! She is reliable, punctual, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. My dog immediately felt comfortable with her, which gave me great peace of mind. She always provides updates after walks and goes the extra mile to make sure my dog is happy and well cared for.”

I am very flexible and open on weekends to help care for your pets. If asked to care for a pet I will follow all requests and treat your pet and home with respect and care. “Mary is a true professional and exemplary at her job. Clearly loves what she does. I felt so confident in her taking care of our cats while we were on vacation. Her execution and detailed reports give me peace of mind and she even watered our tomato plants, brought in our mail, and took the garbage to the curb. Her photos were adorable and I enjoy that she took time to play with them and earn their trust. Cannot recommend her more.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all kinds for years and have three of my own, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I’m studying to become a veterinarian and work part-time at a pet store, which has given me strong knowledge of pet health, behavior, and nutrition. I also have hands-on experience fostering senior dogs, sitting for cats, caring for a pregnant dog, and helping raise a litter of seven puppies. I’m comfortable with dogs of all ages and needs, and I always treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I know our pets are our children, I wont treat them as any less! I also know fish, small animal and reptile care very well! Se habla español! 🤗 I’m currently a part-time student, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m available most days for walks, drop-ins, and sitting, including weekends. I can easily adjust my routine to fit your pet’s needs and keep their schedule consistent. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fenced yard and three friendly small-to-medium sized dogs who are used to being around other pets. I always supervise interactions and make sure every dog feels safe and comfortable. I’m also able to follow any specific routines, feeding schedules, or crate needs you have. Whether your pet loves to play or prefers a calm environment, I’ll make sure they feel at home, well loved, and cared for!
“Our previous sitter moved to other state, so we had to look for a new one. Jasmin’s all 5 star review proved how great she is. She took very good care of our two kitties while we are gone for vacation. After the routine care she even spent time to play and pet them for a bit. Our kitties love her so much! Definitely will rebook for our next vacation!”

“Sandra was awesome. She sent me updates and pictures after every visit. She treated Cleo as she was her own pet. She was a wonderful caretaker. Definitely will have her take care of Cleo again. Thank you, Sandra!”

“Christy was so easy to work with! She took the time to understand my dogs, their habits and their needs. She accommodated my special requests without a second thought. Having her taking care of my fur babies gave me such peace of mind!”

Sandra took wonderful care of my cats while I was away. She made sure they were well fed and gave them plenty of love and attention. My cats felt comfortable with her, which gave me great peace of mind. I knew they were in excellent hands, and she truly went above and beyond. She was on time and followed every single instructions I gave her. I highly recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.

Rene was amazing with our sometimes cranky gal! She sent us regular updates and pictures, kept everything clean and tidy, and even went back to check on her one day when she didn’t appear to say hi like normal. We would definitely recommend her to others for watching their cats!

Jasmin has been the best sitter we’ve had for our drop-in visits. She is incredibly accommodating, even with last-minute reservations, and always makes the process stress-free. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing our pets are in good hands. We truly appreciate her reliability, flexibility, and the care she gives every visit. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and dependable!

We loved having Tim look after our cat for the week! He was so kind and patient with our very senior furball. On top of the time he took to give lots of love and playtime, Tim kept perfect track of meds and food. What’s more—was so nice in managing a few bouts of ‘tummy trouble’. We would totally book him again!

Anna has been wonderful with our pup for drop-in visits. She’s a great communicator, always keeping us updated and making us feel at ease while we’re away. He can be shy with new people, but he warmed up to Anna surprisingly quickly, which says a lot. We’ve had a really positive experience and absolutely recommend her.

Susan has been absolutely fantastic as a dog walker! She is reliable, punctual, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. My dog immediately felt comfortable with her, which gave me great peace of mind. She always provides updates after walks and goes the extra mile to make sure my dog is happy and well cared for.

Hope always takes great care of our pets, follows our care instructions, and communicates timing and needs. We love having Hope care for our pets when we can’t be home as they are always happy and well cared for when we return. This is not the first time we’ve booked with Hope and it won’t be our last. Thank you, Hope!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
