Sheila has been walking my dog Violet since July. She is trustworthy, reliable, flexible and caring. She has lots of expirience with dogs and can handle walking a dog that doesn't have the best manners on a leash! My dog Violet seems to really enjoy her walks with Sheila! She has been able to fit in a walk for Violet every single time I have asked, even if I have contacted last minute due to a scheduling conflict on my end. Sheila is very detail oriented and observant and will notice and alert you if something seems off/different about your dog. I can't say enough good things about Sheila!

We’re so glad we found Alyssa. She was easy-going and stayed in great communication throughout, which meant a lot to us. Aoife and Klay can be a little particular and don’t always warm up to new people quickly, but Alyssa handled them effortlessly and they clearly adored her. It’s a relief to know they were in such good hands. We’d book her again in a heartbeat and recommend her without hesitation.

Christen responded to my request promptly and I was able to set up a last minute walk fairly quickly with her. She arrived on time and kept me informed of everything during the walk. I ALSO really appreciate her making arrangements to come with someone else when she wasn’t feeling too well! Definitely recommend her and will book with her in the future!

Monats was super helpful and really came through for our pup during a schedule pinch! She took excellent care of Rosie and was very on top of making sure Rosie’s care requirements were met. And I really appreciated her experience and diligence in catching and thwarting my dogs attempts to eat sticks and mulch even though I had forgotten to warn in advance!

About: I am pretty new to this but I have watched taken care of big and small dogs in the past with their own specific needs. I am available all day Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs. As for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I am available after 5:30pm. I may be able to accommodate more days if my work schedule opens up. I will just let you know :) I am very vigilant and detail oriented. I will make sure that everything is left the EXACT same way it was as I entered. If not better. As for my own home, I do not have the capacity to keep a dog unfortunately.

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I have mainly taken care of my neighbors' pets, my friends' pets and of course my own. I have pet-sitted for dogs of all sizes, cats and fish. At home I have 3 cats, 3 dogs, 3 guinea pigs, 3 ferrets, a crested gecko and a tree frog. I am reliable and punctual. I am caring and kind. I am also flexible and will follow any schedule or instructions. I am a college student at the University of Maryland and during the summer I do have class on Friday morning. Besides my class schedule I am very flexible. I will follow any instructions that you provide as they are unique to each pet. If taking care of a dog I will never take them out without a leash or fenced in yard. If taking care of a cat I will make sure to keep them inside at all times. If you need me to take care of a small animal I will always make sure they are in their enclosure before I leave. I am very paranoid and will always make sure your pets are safe.

About: I truly treat every pet like my own. I pay close attention to their personality, routines, and comfort level so they feel safe and happy. I’m patient with puppies who are still learning and gentle with senior dogs who may need a slower pace or extra care. Clear communication and detailed updates are very important to me, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing. Pet care fits very naturally into my current routine. I have a very flexible schedule right now, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to walks, drop-ins, or extended care. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to accommodate last-minute requests and maintain consistent availability for recurring clients I’m very adaptable and comfortable following your pet’s specific routine to make sure they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s feeding schedules, medication times, walk routines, or favorite play habits, I stick closely to what your pet is used to so everything feels consistent and stress-free. At this time, I do not offer boarding services in my home, as I have a cat who is not comfortable around other animals. However, I’m happy to provide walks, drop-in visits, and in-home care to make sure your fur babies receive plenty of attention, exercise, and love.

About: I grew up with a dog and have spent years caring for and looking after it, which taught me the responsibility, patience, and attention that pets need, and I have also regularly dog-sat for family friends, giving me experience with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. As a college student currently on break, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of free time to dedicate to pet care. I am available throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship, and I can easily adapt my routine to meet a pet’s specific needs. Having cared for my own dog for years and regularly dog-sat for family friends, I understand the importance of providing consistent attention, exercise, and care to help pets feel comfortable and happy while their owners are away. I think every dog is different, so I like to adjust my care based on their personality and needs. I’m a very active person and love going on walks, hikes, and playing with energetic dogs, but I also enjoy relaxing with senior or shy dogs who prefer a slower pace. Whether a dog wants to be outside exploring or curled up on the couch for some company, I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while they’re in my care.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Barnesville. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Barnesville.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Barnesville. On Rover:

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
