Kenneth took great care of our dog; even though my dog was nervous and uncomfortable with people outside of us taking care of him. He did an amazing job, and made me feel so peaceful about having someone caring and responsible taking care of our dog as we had to travel due to an emergency.

Mona is very communicative and flexible. I had multiple changes in my work schedule and Mona was willing to accommodate me. Both my pup, Aya, and I are very thankful for Mona’s help during the day. Also, Mona is a photographer. She has taken wonderful pictures of Aya which make my day while I have to be away. Thank you, Mona! We appreciate you and hope more pups get to have some outside time with you instead of being alone at home the whole day 🍀

About: I have had several pets through my life and all have had different personalities. Adapting to them to make them comfortable is important. I also have helped family take care of their new puppies. I’m very comfortable and understanding when dealing with puppies. Currently I can do any time! I don’t mind having an early morning or late night drop in. I am very flexible and want to make this easy for YOU! Just communicate what you need and it’ll be great. I want the animal to be as comfy as possible. Sometimes their human leaving can be stressful! I want to meet them where it’s needed. Not have their routines thrown off.

Sheila has been walking my dog Violet since July. She is trustworthy, reliable, flexible and caring. She has lots of expirience with dogs and can handle walking a dog that doesn't have the best manners on a leash! My dog Violet seems to really enjoy her walks with Sheila! She has been able to fit in a walk for Violet every single time I have asked, even if I have contacted last minute due to a scheduling conflict on my end. Sheila is very detail oriented and observant and will notice and alert you if something seems off/different about your dog. I can't say enough good things about Sheila!

About: I've cared for dogs big and small for about 8 years. Neighbors and friends have relied on me to walk, feed and stay overnight with their pets. I have experience with epileptic dogs, senior dogs, medication, active supervision, etc. I recently transitions to dog walking/sitting full time to focus on building my own business, so I am now available on Monday through Friday, at 9am-5pm for drop ins/walks. I can stop by for 30-60 minutes to refill water, let out dogs, scoop litter or give medicine at any exact time. I can also easily kennel if needed.

About: I have been on the rover for about 5 years now and have had many successful clients. I have also pet sitted long term for a customer in Santurce. I love going on long walks, playing with puppies, or cuddling with the old dogs too. Please feel free to reach out! I just recently moved back to the island. I am working full time M-F 8am-3pm. I can take your pet for a walk anytime before or after. I prefer the metro area. I am looking for random one time care requests or a long term client if needed. I have stayed at clients home while they are away on vacation, done weekends, early mornings. I am able to work with your schedule as long as it works with my full time job hours (M-F 8am-3pm) I truly do this side work because I love being around dogs. I love going on long walks or to the beach. I have experience with both elderly dogs and puppies, I can match both energies!

About: Have only had 9 months total of my life without a dog or a pack of them by my side. Your fur baby will be fostered as one of my own; their walk, run, or potty break is all about them! With guidance from you, we will move at their pace. If they want to go for a run... then we run! If they prefer to walk tree to tree and smell every flower, that's fine too! I am available early mornings and mid-days during the week. I also have availability nightly to check on the pups and make sure they're ready for bed. I look forward to meeting the needs of your family, if it be walking or running the dogs, or making sure they are comfortable in your home, just let me know. I am fortunate enough to have a remote role, so my schedule is usually set to my own dog's needs. I am by no means a gym rat or a marathon runner. Yet that doesn't stop me from getting in usually 2-6 miles a day, both walking and running. While my dog is crate trained, it would be great if yours is as well, for those few errands that may take me away for up to 4 hours at a time (a busy week would be 3 half days in the office)

Heidi was great with my babies. She communicated great. There was an issue with my address and it sent her to my old house. She was very understanding and went the extra mile to drive 30 minutes to my current house. You want a sitter like that. You should definitely book with Heidi.

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
