About: I’ve lived with dogs and cats my whole life. I currently have three Portuguese Water Dogs. I train and handle them in multiple dog sports such as agility and dock diving. I am semi retired after selling my business a year ago. Not one to sit still for too long, I think pet caregiving is a great avenue to channel my energy. My schedule is very flexible so I can work this in. I am very safety conscious. At my home we have a fully fenced yard. When out walking, I am always aware of surroundings and what might trigger a pet. I aim to be proactive and in control at all times
About: I have over 5 years of experience house sitting and pet sitting . I have experience from puppies to seniors! I’m comfortable in giving meds I own my own business and work a part time job but they both allow so I’m able to make my own schedule . Day I care for pets in Clients home with all the respect of there home and follow all the guidelines the client sets for their pet
“I have been extremely satisfied with the dog walking services provided by Cornell over the past months. He has consistently demonstrated exceptional reliability, arriving punctually for every scheduled walk and maintaining clear communication throughout our arrangement. His genuine care for my dogs has been evident in the detailed updates and photos he shared after each outing, ensuring they received attentive, safe, and engaging exercise. I highly recommend his professional and trustworthy services to any pet owner seeking a dependable dog walker.”

“The ease of working with Liberty was commendable. She was very communicative and us informed. She asked probing questions pertinent to making the walks with Kyoshi worry-free. Further, she was very attentive especially on Kyoshi’s triggers such as squirrels and stuff on the ground. Kyoshi had a great time with Liberty, and would he more than happy to bond again with her in the future! Thank you very much, Liberty! We greatly appreciate the genuine attention and care you gave to Kyoshi!”

“Rasha is AMAZING. I have a nervous, reactive dog and 2 cats. She has done multiple meet and greets with my dog and has shown a great understanding of reactivity and behavioral principles. Rasha has been SO patient with Luna, and is so positive and gentle. I feel secure when Rasha takes Luna out, and that is a big deal. I am so grateful that I found Rasha!”

“Ken has walked our 2 Labs Art and Nola a few times now. He is always dependable and great about posting pictures and report card for both pups. We highly recommend him to walk your fur babies!”

About: Have only had 9 months total of my life without a dog or a pack of them by my side. Your fur baby will be fostered as one of my own; their walk, run, or potty break is all about them! With guidance from you, we will move at their pace. If they want to go for a run... then we run! If they prefer to walk tree to tree and smell every flower, that's fine too! I am available early mornings and mid-days during the week. I also have availability nightly to check on the pups and make sure they're ready for bed. I look forward to meeting the needs of your family, if it be walking or running the dogs, or making sure they are comfortable in your home, just let me know. I am fortunate enough to have a remote role, so my schedule is usually set to my own dog's needs. I am by no means a gym rat or a marathon runner. Yet that doesn't stop me from getting in usually 2-6 miles a day, both walking and running. While my dog is crate trained, it would be great if yours is as well, for those few errands that may take me away for up to 4 hours at a time (a busy week would be 3 half days in the office)
“Amazing dog walker! She was reliable, professional, and took great care of my dogs. They absolutely loved her and were always excited to see her. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in good hands. I would hire her again anytime and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker!”

About: A former vet assistant, kennel attendant, and active equestrian and children’s horseback riding instructor, I have worked for several years with big and small pets! I have experience with elderly dog and cat care, administering daily medicine, puppy care and training, and large animal welfare. I currently work from home and set my own work schedule, so I have a lots of flexibility and can adapt to your pets needs. In your home, I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible — feeding and medication on schedule, regular walks on leash, and any appointments they need. I always double-check doors, gates, and leashes before and after each outing, and I keep the emergency vet’s number and your contact info on hand. For overnight and multi-day stays, I also handle house sitting tasks like mail collection, plant care, and general cleanup (dishes, laundry, sweeping). I’m comfortable with litter boxes, and with habitat cleaning for reptiles, rodents, and aquariums. You’ll get photo updates so you always know how your pet is doing.

“Colleen is personable and friendly and clearly a dog lover! She connected quickly to my Bella and at our meet and greet. We had a great conversation and she let me know all the ways she was respectful of how an owner takes care of their pet when she cared for them. Over the course of the three walks this weekend, she communicated regularly and provided updates as requested! We're looking forward to working with her again!”

“Highly recommend Alexa! She was able to accommodate a last minute booking request to walk my energetic golden retriever and was nothing short of amazing. She provided multiple photos each day as well as a detailed report on how each walk went. Will definitely book again!”

“Jessica has been absolutely wonderful with my dogs! She is loving, attentive, and truly treats them like her own. I always feel comfortable knowing they are in such caring hands. She communicates very well, keeps me updated, and is incredibly flexible whenever I have schedule changes. My dogs adore her, and I highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker!”

About: My name is Laryssa and I am new on the sitter side of Rover. I am extremely reliable, caring and would treat your pets like my own while you are away! From experience, I know how hard it can be to leave your pets and will provide updates so you can ensure your fur babies are in good hands! A little about me I am a longtime dog owner and have had my Norwegian Elkhound mix for 10 years. She is now almost 12, I have experienced the puppy years, the energetic years, and all the little changes that come with caring for a dog as they get older. I also have experience with dogs from other family and friends that I would care for while they were away. I also currently have two tabby cats and I grew up with cats my whole life so I would be comfortable with both cats and dogs. I currently work from home full time so my schedule is flexible. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine and I will ensure to follow what is asked of me. I am available for dog walks and drop-in visits around the Leesburg area. My home is cozy, peaceful, and structured to make pets feel secure and relaxed, I allow pets on bed and furniture, but definitely follow the pet parent instructions, if not allowed! Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Stumptown
As usual, Connor went above and beyond. My dog had vomited on one of the days he came to walk him. I had not asked him to clean up messes, and I never would have expected him to. But he did it without hesitation or complaint, simply letting me know it happened. Connor is always very responsive, respectful, & simply easy to work with, and Mac just loves him and his dog, Finley.

Connor was very relaxed with my nervous dog, Mac, and made him feel comfortable. He was diligent about letting us know when he was there to feed & walk Mac and sent pictures to help us feel comfortable that Mac was happy. He even set up some playtime for him at our encouragement. Connor was also very flexible about coming to meet Mac ahead of time so we could show him our walking route. We definitely hope to use Connor for help with Mac again.

Tyler is a wonderful sitter and dog walker!! He is always so considerate and tailors the walks to my dog and gives her extra play time when she goes full dachshund and decides not to go for a walk. I cannot recommend Tyler enough, I never have to worry that my puppy is going to have a fun play day when he's watching her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
