“Nancy is wonderful! She has visited my 3 crazy boys (two of which are bigger than her!) twice now - once in the pouring rain - and has done a fantastic job. She communicates everything well and made sure they were all exercised, fed and loved. She even washed the food bowls when they were done!”
“Courtney was terrific! Extremely communicative, and very patient with our pup! Would highly recommend. Our puppy is always fearful of new people, but she took to Courtney very quickly and she made it so east to be gone for the day and not worry about our dog.”

About: My mom has owned a local pet sitting business for 27 years so I have lived and breathed pet sitting for my entire life. I am extremely passionate about animals and the care they receive. I have done over 800 pet sitting visits for my mom’s business and each one is done with the same love and care I give to my own pets. I am pet CPR and first aid certified. I work from home so I will have all the time in the world to give your pets all the love, care, and attention they deserve! I appreciate lots of details about your pets schedule, what they do and don’t like, how you like to spend time with them in order to make sure they are as happy and comfortable as possible while they are away from you!
About: My family has raised goats and chickens since I was around 10, and have had dogs and cats for as long as I can remember! I've grown up around animals my whole life and I am accustomed to caring for goats, chickens, dogs, and cats! I'm currently home in Northern Virginia from college for the summer, so I have plenty of time to play with and care for all of your animals!! I have a fenced in yard for dogs as well as plenty of space to take them for walks! As well, I have litter boxes/safety measures set up for my 4 cats. I have 8 goats and 13 chickens so I'm used to making sure the outdoor animals are safe from predators and locked safely into their houses at night.

About: Have only had 9 months total of my life without a dog or a pack of them by my side. Your fur baby will be fostered as one of my own; their walk, run, or potty break is all about them! With guidance from you, we will move at their pace. If they want to go for a run... then we run! If they prefer to walk tree to tree and smell every flower, that's fine too! I am available early mornings and mid-days during the week. I also have availability nightly to check on the pups and make sure they're ready for bed. I look forward to meeting the needs of your family, if it be walking or running the dogs, or making sure they are comfortable in your home, just let me know. I am fortunate enough to have a remote role, so my schedule is usually set to my own dog's needs. I am by no means a gym rat or a marathon runner. Yet that doesn't stop me from getting in usually 2-6 miles a day, both walking and running. While my dog is crate trained, it would be great if yours is as well, for those few errands that may take me away for up to 4 hours at a time (a busy week would be 3 half days in the office)
About: I have 7 dogs at my house and been around animals my whole life we have 3 cats as well and chickens! I love taking cares of any time of animal you just need teach me! Even while building my professional career, I always stayed connected to animals through volunteering with rescue organizations and shelters. Caring for them never felt like a task — it felt natural. Over the years, I’ve cared for friends’ pets and supported rescue animals of all personalities — shy, energetic, playful — and each one has deepened my commitment to creating a calm, safe, and loving environment. My home is cozy, peaceful, and structured to make pets feel secure and relaxed, I allow pets on bed and furniture, but definitely follow the pet parent instructions, if not allowed! I also volunteer at farms, so I have good experience in taking care of farm animals like goats, chickens and horses I have a flexible schedule and am committed to working around your needs to make sure your pets receive the same warmth and attention they’re used to at home. I'm currently doing pet care as full time job, so I'm available all week/anytime and I genuinely love going on walks, so your dog will get good exercise with me I'm available almost all the time, your pets will have my 100% focus on them, I also don't have any other pets or kids, so your pet will feel like the king/queen of the house :)
About: I'm a mom of 4 with 3 children 15 & under living at home. Non-smoking household. I've rescued dogs my entire life. At one time I had 6 rescue pups in my home. I love loving on dogs and caring for them. I work from home with a fairly open schedule to accommodate all your dogs needs. I can host your furbaby just about any day of the week including weekends (and holidays!) **ALL PETS MUST BE UP-TO-DATE ON ALL VACCINATIONS** I have a LARGE fenced yard with tons of space to run and play frisbee or ball in for your furbaby. I also have one 11yo dog who sometimes will play with other dogs or he'll just leave them alone to sleep all day. I have the ability to crate your pet (no need to bring a crate I have some!). Just bring their fav toys, a blanket and/or pet bed and they are set! I am stay-at-home mom so my schedule is fairly flexible. During the school year I will have to leave to take/pick up my little from preschool. Otherwise I'm home all day. I have my own (not spoiled, well loved) dog that is able to go outside whenever he wants and sleeps whenever he wants. Your dog will enjoy their vacation here with me. I treat all dogs as if they were my own furbaby. I give them lots of belly scratches and snuggles. All dogs will need to get along well with children. I can let them out as often as needed. I have a large fenced yard that's great for getting zoomies out and a deck that's great for sunbathing. I'm a stay at home Mom so I'm able to accommodate my schedule to fit each dogs needs. There is almost always someone at home to snuggle with your fur baby. I have a large fenced in yard with plenty of room for running and playing. I also have a variety of crate sizes for any dog that needs one. I do NOT crate any dog unless the owner tells me too.

About: My pup is an older King Charles clavier mix and the sweetest thing ever. She just had her 12th birthday and I have had her since she was 2! I also have experience with big dogs! My boyfriend has a German shepherd and a Rottweiler who I spend lots of time around. One of my roommates at school also has a cat who lives with us! I have experience watching both dogs and cats and just have a deep love for the both!! I am currently working part-time doing an internship for my school, which has given me lots of free time. I love spending time with my pup either just relaxing, going for walks, or playing. My pup is very well trained which makes it very easy for me to take her out as she doesn’t require a leash. However, I have experience with dogs who have a tendency to run if they get the chance 😂 So I am familiar with adjusting to different dogs needs!

About: I currently work as a caretaker at a dog daycare center, where I care for dogs with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and play styles every day. Whether your dog is super energetic, anxious, older, or just needs a little extra patience and attention, I’m more than comfortable adapting to their needs. I’ve also worked as a farmhand, helping feed and care for animals like chickens and other livestock. I’ve also been around animals my whole life and currently care for a cat, an elderly black lab, and a young hound puppy. I’m a college student hoping to earn extra cash doing something I genuinely love! I treat every animal like one of my best friends and always aim to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Weekdays: Available after 1:30 PM for walks, drop-ins, and pet care. Weekends: Usually fully available for walks, house sitting, overnight stays, and extended care. I’m a Dog Daycare worker during the weekdays, so my services may be limited to the afternoon + evenings from Monday-Friday. With dogs, I’m very patient and comfortable with all personalities, including high-energy, excitable, or anxious dogs. I focus on calm and respectful handling and try to help very anxious dogs feel safe by giving them space, approaching slowly, and using gentle reassurance like calm voice and light petting on their side when appropriate. I pay attention to body language and always aim to build trust rather than pressure them into an interaction. If a dog is acting out, I redirect their attention and follow any training or behavior instructions provided by the owner. With cats, I’m used to reading their behavior and giving them the space or attention they want. I understand that many cats are super independent and are protective about their space, but I also enjoy working with affectionate, social cats. I have experience caring for kittens, including feeding and basic hands-on care, as well as senior cats who may need routine medication or any extra attention.

“Sydney is so good with our Enzo! She’s attentive to how he’s feeling on the walk (which is key with the heat and his puppy age), what training we’re working on (she reinforces what we’re focusing on), and making sure he has a great time. She’s our go to!”

The median cost per walk for dog walking in Waterford is $20
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Waterford
As usual, Connor went above and beyond. My dog had vomited on one of the days he came to walk him. I had not asked him to clean up messes, and I never would have expected him to. But he did it without hesitation or complaint, simply letting me know it happened. Connor is always very responsive, respectful, & simply easy to work with, and Mac just loves him and his dog, Finley.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
