“Ollie had a great time at Christina's. He was happy to see me when I came to pick him up, but in no hurry to leave. I think he wanted me to stay for a while so he could play some more ?. He's looking forward to his next visit.”
“Phil and Amanda are amazing. Our two pugs can be skittish around other dogs and Phil and Amanda paired them with the perfect duo to help them get more comfortable. They took them on numerous walks and even let them snuggle in bed on an early morning drop off. I can’t recommend them more and I’ll use them again when we come to town.”

“I left my dog, Tori, for daycare, and she was cared for so well. She is usually very timid, but she seemed so relaxed. Thank you for keeping me updated with lots of photos and for the lovely treat gift you gave her. We truly appreciate your thoughtful care and will definitely be back!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. Having pets myself, my oldest dog being 11, I have experience in taking care of senior dogs but I also have a 3 y/o and have raised puppies myself so I am aware of everything that requires a young pup to a senior. I’m working part-time because of college so I would love to enjoy some more time with dogs!!! I am home almost everyday and don’t usually go out so I love being at home with my doggy’s! I have two friendly dogs, 1 a senior pup so he isn’t much involved and another 3 year old who loves meeting new friends and he needs friends to play with!! I also have a small fenced backyard which my dogs use to always go outside

“We can't be happier with Sophia's service through Rover. The appointment schedule is easy and flexible with fast responses to our questions; most of all, Goliath seemed to really enjoy his stay. Plus, we also received real-time updates. Affordable and friendly service around the DC area, we highly recommend Sophia! Thanks, Sophia.”

About: Hi! I'm Yesi, and I work from home full-time, which means visiting dogs receive plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day. I have two friendly pups, Max and Luna, who are a big part of the family. We understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your dog, and I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where dogs can feel at home while you're away. Whether they enjoy playing, exploring the yard, going for walks, or simply relaxing on the couch, I'll do my best to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I have the most experience with small and medium-sized dogs, but I am also open to larger breeds, as long as they are friendly, well-socialized, and a good fit for my home. The safety and comfort of all dogs in my care are my top priorities. I provide regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is happy, safe, and well cared for. “We had a great experience with Colleen. This was our pups first time going to a daycare and Colleen was amazing with the entire process. She has a lot of knowledge about handling anxious dogs and gave us great ideas on socializing Kyro going forward. He came back very happy. Kyro had an amazing time.”

About: I have a medium size calm dog Judo who loves the company of other dogs. I have been caring for my own dogs since 2014, and started Rover in 2018. I also foster dogs for local rescues and especially have experience with shy dogs that need help trusting people. Because of allergies, dogs are not allowed on furniture or in the bedroom. We only take one dog at a time to insure your lovely pup gets the attention they deserve. We only accept dogs that are fully house trained. Accidents happen, but please do not send your dog over if they already have urinary or digestive problems. Please understand that we only accept fully vaccinated dogs to protect the health of our resident dog. Before booking with us for the first time, we recommend a meet n greet to ensure a good fit. I work from home and my schedule is pretty flexible. Potty breaks in the yard available throughout the day. Two walks a day with my dog and park visits on weekends. All interactions between dogs will be monitored. When I’m not around I will keep them separate in the first three days until I am confident that they get along. Food will be provided separately and toys will not be left around.
About: I’m a dependable and caring pet sitter who treats every animal like family. With experience caring for both dogs and cats (and a soft spot for all furry friends!), I make sure pets feel safe, loved, and well-cared for while you’re away. From playtime and walks to feeding and snuggles, I focus on keeping tails wagging and giving you peace of mind. Your pets’ happiness and comfort are always my priority. Being a stay-at-home mom means my schedule is already centered around caregiving and routines, so adding pet care fits in naturally. I’m home throughout the day, which gives me the flexibility to provide consistent attention—whether that’s feeding, playtime, or companionship. Just like I do with my kids, I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for on a daily and weekly basis. In my own home, I make sure pets feel comfortable and part of the family—plenty of playtime, cozy spaces to relax, and a safe environment with lots of love and attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their routines and follow instructions closely so pets feel secure in their familiar space. Whether it’s feeding, litter care, walks, or cuddle time, I focus on consistency, safety, and making sure each pet gets the affection and care they’re used to.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
