Melissa can care for

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs

Availability

I work from home so am pretty flexible with pet care. I have a car and am comfortable driving to you, taking your pet to a local park, etc. I typically need at least 24h notice for dog walking to make sure I have no meeting conflicts (unless the timing is flexible for you).

Safety, trust & environment

I can easily crate your dog if needed, I am comfortable walking your pet for long distances, I have no issues picking up poop or scooping cat boxes, and am willing to learn any additional needs your pet may have to make sure our experience together is a pleasant one! I am comfortable walking a dog of 100+ pounds, unless it is known to dart away quickly. I can only lift about 50 lbs so don’t trust my ability to pull your dog back/control it if it is reactive like that.

Information Melissa W. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I should account for, ex. sensitive to heat, reactive, will eat anything in its path, etc.

A typical day

When caring for dogs, I typically start with a walk (distance varies depending on the dog and request of the owner but usually aim for at least 0.5 miles). Once they have gone to the bathroom, then I will feed them and ensure they have fresh water. Then we will play or they will receive many pats depending on their mood!

Pet care experience

I have had my cat Earl for 11 years and had dogs growing up. I promise to love and care for your pets as though they are my own. I am comfortable feeding, walking, scooping poop or cat boxes, and administering medicine with care. My schedule is pretty flexible as I WFH, and I am saving up for my wedding in 2026 so really appreciate your business. I hope you will take a chance on me!

Melissa is consistently the best! She’s my first choice to walk Oakley anytime we need someone and she’s so easy to work with.

Melissa is truly fantastic. She is always easy to work with, has great communication, and takes the best pictures. Oakley is always SO happy to see her and even does his happy dance that is usually reserved for mom and dad. We’re so happy to have found Melissa!
