About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have also worked as a dog walker, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve cared for Labs for years and have experience with walks, runs, senior dogs, administering medication, and keeping pets on their normal routines. I love getting to know each dog and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be home throughout the day. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m able to work around walks, drop-ins, feedings, and playtime while still keeping up with my work. I also have two cats of my own, so caring for pets is already a big part of my everyday life. I’m happy to build visits around each pet’s routine and give them the attention they need while their owners are away. I’m respectful of both your home and your pet’s routine. I’ll always take the time to understand your instructions, ask questions if anything is unclear, and make sure I have any additional information I need before you leave. I’ll follow your pet’s normal schedule as closely as possible and treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own.

“Gloria was WONDERFUL. It was the first time we went with the sitter for our cat, and she eased all our anxiety. She was very communicative, kind, and thorough. We cannot recommend her enough.”

“Julia did a great job checking in on our cat while we were away! She was responsive and always made sure to send pictures. I would definitely recommend her and rebook with her again!”

“Rene is absolutely fantastic. She was always prompt, diligent and so caring for our cat. This was our first time leaving Milo. Rene immediately put us at ease. She communicated constantly. She came prior to the scheduled visits to meet Milo, who loved Rene instantly. During the visits, Rene sent us pictures of Milo. She did “all the things” (litterbox, food, water etc), probably more carefully than we do at home haha. Rene even brushed Milo, which was above and beyond. We are so happy Rene took care of our pet. We can’t say enough good things about Rene.”

“Susan was great! I felt safe with her taking care of my cat while I was away overseas. She was communicative the entire time, very responsive, left me daily notes on time, and my cat seemed to have had a great time with her. Would book again :)”

About: I've cared for dogs big and small for about 8 years. Neighbors and friends have relied on me to walk, feed and stay overnight with their pets. I have experience with epileptic dogs, senior dogs, medication, active supervision, etc. I recently transitions to dog walking/sitting full time to focus on building my own business, so I am now available on Monday through Friday, at 9am-5pm for drop ins/walks. I can stop by for 30-60 minutes to refill water, let out dogs, scoop litter or give medicine at any exact time. I can also easily kennel if needed.
“Candice was nothing short than amazing! She took care of our three cats for an entire week while we were on vacation! She put up with my frazzled nerves as a cat mum, and went above and beyond. She is also very knowledgeable when it comes to animals. We felt more than secure leaving our babies with her, she is our permanent nanny now. Book Candice you will not be disappointed and she understands what piece and peace of mind means too.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a little girl - and I have also grown up around pets my entire life! I believe my love for animals shows in the type of care giver I would be to your furry family. From puppies, to senior dogs, I have what it takes to adapt to each animal and care for their needs. I am currently between jobs, so my schedule is pretty free! I’m available to care for your animal in the mornings, afternoon and evening. Weekends vary, however my schedule is flexible. I will constantly keep your dog company, making sure they always have someone to play with, are well fed & most importantly, safe and loved.

“Nathalie was very kind and patient with our pup, and great at communicating with us despite a 6 hour time difference. Very reliable and trustworthy, will definitely be using her services again in the future.”
About: I've had cats and dogs my entire life and, for the first time, find myself without any pets. I have an abundance of ear scratches, belly rubs, and snuggles just waiting for pets who are missing their people. My husband and I both work from home with flexible schedules so are available for frequent potty breaks, walks, and playtime. We also have two children, 8 and 11, who both grew up with dogs and cats and are experienced and comfortable with both. Your pet will be the only one in our home, so they will get lots of attention, playtime, and snuggles! We have a big house that pets are free to explore and where they can make themselves at home. We also have an unfenced 3-acre backyard that connects to a path through the woods - your dog can enjoy a daily hike through the forest, smelling the many interesting smells and splashing in the creek if so desired. And we live on a cul-de-sac in a residential area perfect for safe neighborhood walks. About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I can remember. From house sitting, to walking them, to even taking care of my own dog. I’ve worked with different breeds and ages, and I love them all! I stay at home mostly throughout the week, and I’ve been wanting to get out a couple of times, and this would be the perfect opportunity to take care of your dogs in walking, or dropping by to play! I live in an apartment complex, so I would have to go to where you are to walk/play with your dog, or I could take them to a dog park!
“Jessica did a great job with our three cats! She sent us lots of photos, played with our two kittens, and we came home to a clean house and happy kitties. Definitely recommend!”

“Dymond was wonderful with my cat! Very responsive, caring, and easy to communicate with. This was my first time leaving my cat since adopting her and I felt very comfortable doing so knowing Dymond would be checking in on her!”

“Riley gave me lots of peace of mind that Bun was being taken care of, looked after, and getting the attention she loves. She left a little summary on the rover card of what she did and how Bun was, and included a few photos for each drop in so I could see that Bun was doing well. I would definitely recommend booking Riley!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 7,608 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Dawsonville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dawsonville. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
