“Claire was great at walking my senior pups. She followed the route laid out for the hour walk, adapted to my dog's quarks, and was responsive and reliable. Will book again!”

“Tom and Cynthia have been extremely helpful when we’ve needed a last minute dog walker. Tom is fast at responding, which I appreciate. I can tell he takes good care of our dog :)”

“Ashley has been walking our dog for several months. She is very communicative, reliable, and great with our dog. He loves her! We would highly recommend her for dog walker.”

About: I’m a teacher who is looking forward to working with pets! I have had my own dog for 10+ years and have taken care of other dogs as well! Neighbors, friends and families have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets! I am also an active dog sitter who lives near Algonkian Park! During the academic school year my availability is a little different, but my summer schedule is very flexible. I love spending time with my own dog and will take her out during various parts of the day if the weather allows. I firmly believe that pets are such important members of the family and giving them all the care and love is priority! When I care for pets, I make sure they are fed, taken outside on their daily walks and have some fun! When going on a walk, I make sure to carry a water, portable water bowl, bags and treats. I also check the temperature and make sure the heat index has not surpassed the recommended temperature for walking dogs. When feeding pets, I make sure to follow their feeding schedule and the amount recommended by their owner. I also check with the dog owner, if the pets have any allergies, medication or other health concerns. I ensure a safe, loving and welcoming space for each pet. My summer days are super flexible. I am also open to do super early walks, or late check-ins for dogs. My schedule during the day is open. I’m also available to housesit during the weekends. I try to update my calendar every two weeks. I treat any pet as my own pet. I ensure that they are comfortable, that they are fed, that they are also having fun and they feel safe. I know changes can sometimes cause pets to become anxious, and I want to ensure that while their human goes on trips, or is away, they are feeling like they are taken care of and feel safe!
“John was great with our dog Ghost. He communicated very well after every walk and Ghost took to him very well. I enjoyed our meet and greet the first day. John was great and we will definitely be using him again for our future travel!!”

About: I have had several dogs but do not currently have any pets. I have had to give medicine to dogs and lots of experience with puppy “accidents”. I’m a teacher, so during summer and breaks I have lots of free time. I have two boys, both of whom love animals. They would love to have a pet visit our home. I can only house-sit when I don’t have my children with me, but can board an animal anytime. Important to note that during the school year my Friday availability is evening only. I have a fenced yard. At my home, I can almost guarantee your dog or cat would get to sleep in a child’s bed and be loved like family. At your home, I would respect any rules you have set.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have taken care of my friends and neighbors dogs whenever they need a dog sitter. I also worked at Olde Towne Pet Resort for two years working with both dogs and cats. I also worked at Pender Veterinary Centre for two years, where I administer treatment and care of dogs, cats, and even exotic animals! I just graduated college and haven’t found a full time job yet so I will be able to have my full attention for your pet! :) I love taking the dogs on long walks and know of great trails nearby my house and I also understand that some dogs need time to warm up to new people, so I always make sure to approach them calmly, be patient and help them feel comfortable and safe.

About: I’ve spent years caring for animals, including fostering dogs and raising my own dog for 13 years. Through fostering, I’ve worked with dogs of different ages, sizes, and temperaments, helping them adjust to new environments and feel safe and comfortable. Caring for my own dog long-term has given me experience with everything from daily routines and exercise to recognizing changes in behavior and health. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoy building trust with every pet I meet, making sure they feel cared for and at home while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m used to planning my day around feeding schedules, walks, and check-ins, and I make sure to leave plenty of time for each pet to get the attention they need. Whether it’s morning and evening visits, walks throughout the day, or spending quality time with cats, I’m consistent and reliable with routines. Since I genuinely enjoy being around animals, it never feels like a chore—it’s something I look forward to. I also keep my schedule flexible so I can accommodate different needs, including last-minute bookings or extra care when needed. I tailor my care based on each pet’s routine and comfort level, whether they’re in my home or their own. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their usual schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions, so pets feel safe and relaxed in their familiar environment. I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship, and I always keep the space clean and secure. If pets are in my home, I provide a calm, safe, and pet-friendly environment with lots of supervision. I keep a consistent routine for feeding, bathroom breaks, and activity, while also giving them plenty of affection and downtime. I’m attentive to behavior and any signs of stress or health changes, and I always prioritize their comfort and safety. No matter the setting, I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel cared for, comfortable, and happy while you’re away.
About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of pets from 8 weeks to 15 years old. I’ve spent a lot of time with dogs throughout my life, particularly my beagle which was adopted by my family at the young age of 8 weeks. My family has also adopted cats at 4 months of age. I’ve experienced all kinds of shenanigans with animals, including persistent tugging because the dog I’m walking wants to play with someone else’s dog, cleaning up plants my cats knocked over, and mitigating playtime between several dogs. As such, I’m prepared to meet the unique needs of every pet and will be patient through any issues that may arise during a visit. I currently work part time with flexible scheduling, so I can come in at any time between 6am and 11pm to check in on your pet, whether it’s for a walk, refilling food and water bowls, cleaning litter boxes, playing frisbee, or just generally keeping your pet some company while you’re away! I’m always gentle with both my and other peoples pets, and always resort to positive affirmation rather than scolding. I pay close attention to detail and always ensure to make note of the instructions I’m given for each pet. I always make sure all care instructions were met before leaving a visit, even if it takes more time than I’m contracted for.
About: My family has had our first dog for 3.5 years now. His name is Hunter. We absolutely love him! I am a stay at home mom with 2 school age kids. I love to take care of my kids and Hunter. I walk my dog 3 times a day on the paths near my house. On a nice day we could walk to the park and hike among the river. Hunter likes to cuddle all the time and loves to go everywhere with us. Fenced backyard, medium to small size yard. My dog enjoys running in the backyard as well as in the front when it safe. Dogs allowed on all furniture including beds. My kids 10 and 16 enjoy dogs a lot. Hunter is very friendly and playful. Lots of love in the house!

About: Huge lover of dogs and puppies of all sizes and breeds! I grew up with family dogs and fostered dogs throughout college; it was a super rewarding and FUN experience. I’ve dealt with shy dogs, dogs with anxiety and pups as young as 6 weeks. Eventually I adopted my own and I can now say I’ve spent hours on end at dog parks. I am a happy owner of a 5 year old mix named Tucker (DOB: 9/20/17) and 1 year old golden retriever puppy named Skye (DOB: 3/20/22). My fiancé and I as a team will both be responsible for your fur babies so you get 2 dog sitters for the price of 1! We would love to meet, care and play with your pup and I'm sure our dogs will too. Just to note: Tucker is weary with humans and will bark his head off the second he sees a PERSON he doesn’t know... but other than that, he has no problems with other dogs and would love to hang out with yours! I work a hybrid job which means my work from home days change every week depending on my teams' schedule: ON DAYS I AM IN THE OFFICE, I'm usually there from 9an-4pm. We have a pet camera in our living room and our dogs do perfectly fine while at work. As soon as I get home we play and go on neighborhood walks or to the dog park. If your dog is house trained and/or crate trained and have no issues being left out or in the crate in a calm environment they can come hang out with Tucker & Skye during the day! ON DAYS THAT I WORK FROM HOME, your dog will get all the attention they could possibly want. Constant play with my dogs and walks throughout the day are guaranteed as we live in a very dog-friendly neighborhood with a ton of walking paths & parks. When your dog stays with me you can expect: 1. A team of 2 dog sitters for the price of 1! (my fiancé and I) 2. Lots of play with our two dogs (mix & golden retriever) 2. Walks around the neighborhood 3. Photo updates to show that you’re dog is happy, comfy and settling in okay! A couple things to note: 1. My fiancé and I actually JUST moved to Sterling area from Chantilly, so it will be the two of us watching your pup and you letting us watch your pup will give us time to explore all the walking trails around our house! 2. We have 2 dogs in the house currently (your dog must get along with other dogs). Both our dogs are typically low-key and just laze around with us, but they are also always ready to walk and play at all times. 3. We have a (small) fenced patio area to play and be outside. They will have plenty of space inside and outside to play with each other, however, since we don't have a HUGE yard like our old place, your dog(s) will join ours on our neighborhood walks. 4. DAY CARE THAT EXCEEDS 9 HOURS will be charged an extra $10 for that day
“Dayana walked Cooper today for the first time and we were very happy! Cooper met her in advance and warmed to her instantly. She came on time to get him and gave him a nice long walk, he got a much better walk than he would have gotten had I been home so he was very happy 😃 We will absolutely be using her the next time we need a walk!”
Lowes Island dog parents share their Rover experiences
Marti is always so wonderful with our dog Hemi! She is very responsive with walking requests when sent. She is flexible with timing and will always make herself available for your doggo. Further, Hemi loves her and at the end of their walk Marti even spends time with our cat giving her AND Hemi both treats and pets.

Claire was absolutely fantastic! She stepped in super last minute to walk our 65-lb Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, her communication was excellent — she kept us updated and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. Claire was incredibly kind, patient, and clearly very comfortable handling a larger dog. Our pup came back happy and well exercised, which says everything. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would recommend Claire any day and will absolutely be booking with her again. If you're looking for someone reliable, communicative, and great with dogs (especially bigger ones), Claire is the one!

I would pick 10 stars for Michaela, if possible. Star has some tigger issues and I have never asked anyone else to walk my dog as she can be a handful. Michaela walked Star today and I did not worry and Star came back super happy and tired! She loved Michaela and watched out the window as she left. I am hoping to book Michaela again, as needed as she is a dog whisper and I am recommending her to all my dog owner friends. She is the best!
