About: I've had a dog in my home my entire life, and am always the one my friends/family turn to if they need someone to look after their pets. I have also fostered multiple dogs with leash reactivity, and have had some 1-1 work with an R+ (positive reinforcement) trainer to ensure pups can have the best experience out and about in the world while still getting their sniffs and exercise in. I occasionally run outside so I can offer to run with your pup(s) 1-2 times a week if you'd like, and I live 5 minutes away from Baron Cameron park if you like for them to play with other pups during the day at a dog park as well. Or of course we can just snuggle most of the day while I work from home. Well either way there will be lots of snuggles and pets... My last dog passed away in 2025 after a year long battle with cancer, so I have no problem giving medicine and making sure we stay on a strict schedule with food/medicine if that is what your dog needs. I look forward to becoming your pup's new best friend! I work part-time from home. I'm available for day-sitting while you're at work or overnight boarding when you're out of town. I'm typically up by 7:30, have a fenced in backyard, go on walks/runs throughout the day and love going to the dog park if your pup enjoys it! I have a 6 foot fence in my backyard that your pup can play around in. Take 2-3 x 25 minute walks around the neighborhood throughout the day and can occasionally go for 30-60 minute jogs if your pup enjoys more exercise (1-2/week)
“Francisco is an outstanding dog walker! He consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our dog is well cared for. After every walk, he communicates with me and provides thoughtful updates about how everything went, including anything he noticed that I should be aware of. What really stood out to me was his attention to detail and genuine care. During our last walk, it started raining, and he reached out to ask where he could find a towel so he could dry our dog off before leaving. That level of thoughtfulness meant a lot to me and showed how much he truly cares about the pets he looks after. I highly recommend Francisco to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog walker. Your pet will be in great hands!”

“Shauna is great! She walks our (very energetic) dog weekly. She is responsive, flexible and always on time. Our dog (Kyla) is skid-dish with new people but she warmed up to Shauna very quickly and is always excited to see her. Kyla comes back from her walks happy and tired - well worth it!”

Please let me know if you need any animal care this summer! Im affordable and flexible ❤️🐶🐘 Im currently on school break and taking summer online classes. “Christine took great care of Neiman. She was always on time (early even!) and at the end of her time Neiman was running downstairs to meet her. I will be sure to call her again. Thank you so very much.”

“Marti was a great walker. Super friendly and easy to connect with, she developed a bond quickly with our dog, and was willing to assist by walking our "cousin" dog the days we had already booked her for one. She provided great updates and photos, and was an excellent communicator throughout the process. Thank you, Marti!”

“My dog is very timid so I was a bit concerned about having someone walk her. Skylar did a great job with my dog Dora. He was very detailed in putting information on the Rover card, which I appreciate a lot. This is my first time working with a dog walker and I would definitely have him walk my dog again!”

About: I’ve been dog and cat-sitting for over ten years for family and friends! I have a flexible work schedule that often allows me to be available during working hours. I work as a therapist, so my schedule is both flexible and has natural breaks and some work from home days, allowing me to build pet care into my routine! Having years of experience with both dogs and cats, I will carefully apply my knowledge of their needs in order to ensure safety. I will carefully follow all directions and requests to ensure safety and effective care.
About: Hi I’m Todd a recently retired professional looking to fill my schedule with caring for both dogs and cats. I have a very open schedule so no rushing off to an office or leaving your pet alone for long hours. I provide reliable, calm, and attentive care for dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes. I am highly responsible, communicative, and ready to follow your pet's specific routine as needed. There are many paths around my house, which are great for walking dogs. I am not working so I am very flexible in terms of my schedule. I am usually available during most times of the day or even on short notice if needed. I live in a three level townhouse in Reston with a deck and a small backyard that backs to woods. I do not have any pets of my own, but several of my neighbors have pets.
“Jennifer has been walking our dog Leo on a regular Tuesday/Thursday schedule (mornings and afternoons), and she’s been fantastic. She’s extremely dependable and always communicates well in advance if there’s ever a schedule change. I feel completely comfortable having her care for Leo. What really stands out is how attentive she is — when Leo got sick, Jennifer noticed right away and alerted me immediately so I could get him to the vet. That kind of attentiveness and care goes well beyond just walking the dog. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable dog walker!”

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 13, so I’ve had years of experience caring for animals and learning how to handle different personalities and needs. I’ve dog sat before and really enjoyed it—it made me realize how much I love being around animals. I love both dogs and cats, and I feel really comfortable caring for either. I’m a trustworthy, responsible person who takes pet care seriously, whether that means sticking to routines, going on walks, or just making sure pets feel safe and loved while their owners are away. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, not just “watching” them. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every pet like they’re my own. Pet care fits pretty easily into my routine. I’m flexible with my schedule, so I can plan around walks, feeding times, and whatever each pet needs day to day. I’m already someone who likes staying active and being out and about, so I don’t mind making time for drop-ins, walks, or longer stays. I’m good with sticking to routines and making sure pets get consistent care and attention while their owners are away. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and sticking closely to their normal routine, feeding, walks, meds if needed, and any specific instructions. I’m very mindful about safety, like making sure doors are locked, leashes are secure, and always keeping a close eye on pets. I treat every animal like my own, so I’m really attentive to their behavior and needs. I also respect the home I’m in and keep things clean and organized. Overall, I try to create a calm, safe environment where pets feel cared for while their owners are away.
About: I am on a short career break while waiting for a clearance to come through to start my new job. Looking to fill my days with some furry friends while I wait! I have always been a dog lover and have lots of experience with doodles specifically but love all dogs. I have one pup (Lulu, 2 yr old 35lb mini Bernedoodle) that loves everyone and everything. Currently between jobs and at home most of the day! I am up and at it early during the week either on runs or at the gym. I have a small fenced in yard and live a few steps from 3 of the Reston trail entrances! I am very active and love to go on walks with my dog.
“Eve is a delight! Friendly, easy to make arrangements with and quickly connected with our dog, Karragh. Karragh is recovering from surgery and can’t walk far, so Eve sat and read with her! So appreciative!!!”

About: Aside from having two cats of my own, I have fostered over 10 different cats and been a trusted dog sitter for family and friends. My experience caring for multiple animals is what I believe makes me qualified to take good care of your furry friend! I am currently home for winter break from college and since I have a lot of free time, I would love to be able to put that towards taking care of animals. I am very available during the day for pet visits, etc. I also am generally available during the night as well! Considering my cats are very curious, I have developed the good habit of remaining aware of surroundings, things that they may be able to eat, unsafe items, and keeping doors closed. I also have had experience with many different animals allowing me to adjust well to each pets needs!
About: Hi, I'm Leah & I love all animals but I have always been a cat person. I have two cats of my own, Victor & Mazuka. I volunteer for Operation Hood which is a non-profit organization that educates on why trap-neuter-return (TNR) is the most effective & humane way to help with the overpopulation of community cats. Every week I care for 90+ cats at "The Fence" where Operation Hood has established a safe haven for cats rescued from Hood Drive back in 2016. I have made & donated shelters for outside cats during the winter & I have spent time volunteering at the Fredericksburg SPCA. I own my own vehicle & I work from home as a Realtor so I have a lot of flexibility to fit your schedule. References gladly available upon request! My two cats stay indoors. They have tons of toys and room to run and play. If needed, I have a small portion of my backyard fenced in.

Christine was reliable, punctual, and easy to communicate with. She was always professional and kept me informed when needed. I appreciated her help walking Simba, and the experience was smooth and dependable. I would recommend Christine to anyone looking for a reliable dog walker.

Rasha is AMAZING. I have a nervous, reactive dog and 2 cats. She has done multiple meet and greets with my dog and has shown a great understanding of reactivity and behavioral principles. Rasha has been SO patient with Luna, and is so positive and gentle. I feel secure when Rasha takes Luna out, and that is a big deal. I am so grateful that I found Rasha!

Claire has been wonderful to work with! She came by the day before for a site visit to meet my dog, which I really appreciated. She took the time to ask thoughtful questions, learn about my dog’s routine, and make sure she understood his needs. Communication has been excellent from the start, and she’s been incredibly flexible and accommodating. Her professionalism and attention to detail gave me peace of mind, and I feel confident knowing my dog will be in great hands. I’m looking forward to using her dog walking services and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker. Thanks, Claire! 🐾😊

Marti is always so wonderful with our dog Hemi! She is very responsive with walking requests when sent. She is flexible with timing and will always make herself available for your doggo. Further, Hemi loves her and at the end of their walk Marti even spends time with our cat giving her AND Hemi both treats and pets.

My dog stayed with me for a few months and because of my job, it's hard for me to predict when I will need a dog walker in advance. Despite my many last minute asks, Edward K. helped me by taking care of Oreo. His communication was great. The pictures he sent indicated that Oreo really liked him and had a great walk each time. Most importantly when I got home I could tell that Oreo's walk with Edward made him more peaceful and settled during my long days away from him. Oreo is going back to live with his family in Ohio for a season but I just wanted to thank Edward publically for helping out in this really meaningful way!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
