“My dogs are happy to stay at Karen's. She is great at playing with them, walking them, and snuggling them. She is easy to communicate with, and she sends lots of pictures so you know everyone is doing great all the time.”

“Tatiana is the BEST! She is so good to my Boston Terrier and her dog and cat are too. Stevie gets her own fun vacation when she goes to Tatiana’s house and I get fun pics that let me know she is doing well. I’m so lucky to have found her.”

“Jill and her husband, Sean, were so caring and provided excellent care to our dog, Rigby, while we went on a family vacation. Rigby had a great time based on the pictures and messages that we received while we were away. Those messages put my mind at ease knowing that he was well taken care of. We will definitely use them again when we plan future trips.”

“We cannot recommend John and Joanna highly enough! They took wonderful care of our two dachshunds and went above and beyond in every way. Their communication was outstanding, we received regular updates and fun photos that reassured us our pups were happy and in great hands while we were away. John and Joanna’s attentiveness and compassion truly stood out, especially during a thunderstorm. Knowing our pups are afraid of thunder, they took the time to check in on them and offer extra cuddles, which meant the world to us. They also made sure our dog received his daily skin treatments, which we deeply appreciated. John and Joanna set the standard for what pet care should look like. Warm, responsive, and truly dedicated.”

“From the moment Ninfa opened her front door, we could tell Vinny was going to be very happy staying there. Ninfa obviously loves dogs, and Vinny took right to her. From the pictures and video Ninfa sent us it was easy to see he was being properly fawned over and enjoying himself immensely. We will definitely use Ninfa’s service again whenever we can.”

“Sujan, was very caring of my 4-year-old Schnauzer. He is very comfortable around dogs and takes care to treat them as if they were member of his family. You can see by the way he cares of his own dog that he loves dogs. He kept me posted every day of my dog's activities and wellbeing. This was my first time boarding my dog and I am very happy that he took care of my dog.”

“Churro stayed with Viona and John for a week and had the best time. They have a big backyard where he got to run around and play, became best buddies with their Golden Retriever, Maxie, and also had so much fun with their kids. What we really appreciated was how comfortable they made us feel while we were away. They clearly know dogs and have a lot of experience, and they kept us updated every day with pictures and videos. Churro got lots of walks and attention. Honestly, he was spoiled in the best way. We could tell he was happy and well cared for the whole time. We’d definitely book with Viona and John again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Dranesville
My dog Gracie came back relaxed and healthy after her four-day stay with Kiran. Kiran kept me updated on how Gracie was doing while I was away and gave me lots of details about how she did during her stay with him. I recommend Kiran and would certainly trust him with the care of my beloved dog again.

Jamar was absolutely wonderful with Brooklyn! He took great care of her and kept me updated with pictures throughout her stay. She looked so happy and seemed to be having the best time in every photo, which gave me so much peace of mind. I truly appreciate the care and attention he gave her. I would definitely trust him with Brooklyn again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

We had a good meet and greet before the stay since we had a new pairing. Barry had a comfortable time with the family. I’m a helicopter dog parent and as Barry gets older we see him develop limps from time to time which happened on this stay also. I was informed of the limp and he recovered well during the stay.

Noelle took wonderful care of my reactive pup, Mocha. She shared picture and video updates throughout her stay, which showed Mocha having a great time. Mocha is nervous around new people, but she warmed up to Noelle and was clearly comfortable. We look forward to future visits!

Lauren is a great sitter. My dog felt at home at her place. Her dog lulu is such a gentle dog. I got updates on daily basis. They followed all his schedules. He stayed with them for 7 days. And my dog has not picked any bad habits. I am grateful she was available during this time.

This was my first time using Rover! Michelle made this experience very easy and made us feel comfortable to leave our dog for the first time. She was very communicative and max seems to really love her! Definitely will use her again in the future! Great experience! Awesome job!

Nalleli and her family welcomed my baby girl Sinder like one of the family! It gave me the peace of mind during my travels and I would definitely recommend trusting her with your fur babies! I got many photos and updates and she was super happy and loved! Thank you Nalleli!

94% of sitters in Dranesville can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Dranesville.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
