“Amazing dog walker! She was reliable, professional, and took great care of my dogs. They absolutely loved her and were always excited to see her. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in good hands. I would hire her again anytime and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker!”

“Marcia is an excellent dog walker. She arrived on time, provided Cookie a thorough walk, and wrote a detailed summary of the visit. She is very knowledgeable and clearly loves dogs. I hope to use her services again in the future.”

“Corinne did a great job with the dogs and keeping me updated. Would highly recommend using her as she was very communicative about any issues with the dogs and how they were doing.”

About: I have had several dogs but do not currently have any pets. I have had to give medicine to dogs and lots of experience with puppy “accidents”. I’m a teacher, so during summer and breaks I have lots of free time. I have two boys, both of whom love animals. They would love to have a pet visit our home. I can only house-sit when I don’t have my children with me, but can board an animal anytime. Important to note that during the school year my Friday availability is evening only. I have a fenced yard. At my home, I can almost guarantee your dog or cat would get to sleep in a child’s bed and be loved like family. At your home, I would respect any rules you have set.
“Sarina is so great! I never need to worry about the care my little rescue pup gets with her. She is so attentive and loving towards him and makes sure he has enough time to acclimate to her being their to walk him instead of me. She always takes pictures of him so I know he’s in good hands!”

I make it a point to ensure that they have freshwater food and plenty of exercise and playtime. I also respect my clients’ home by keeping everything clean, secure, and organized.

“Skylar is the most professional and caring for our pet, he has been very communicative despite his busy schedule and always takes our dog on the best walks. We’ve been repeat clients for months and had we not been moving, we would have loved for him to be a part of our dogs life. Wish him all the best for his future and hope to meet him again down the line!”

“Vinnie takes great care of my pups. He always sends pictures while walking my dogs, and is attentive and knowledgeable about the care of my dogs. I trust him 100% with Gemma and Forest.”

“Nic and his wife Carmen were great on their walk with Scuba. He’s a young and mouthy puppy and tries to eat everything during walks. They handled him with care and he seems to have enjoyed his walk. I’d recommend them!”

“Marti was a great walker. Super friendly and easy to connect with, she developed a bond quickly with our dog, and was willing to assist by walking our "cousin" dog the days we had already booked her for one. She provided great updates and photos, and was an excellent communicator throughout the process. Thank you, Marti!”

About: I've been a cat parent all my life, and all-around animal lover. Now, I have two dogs (Damon and Matcha) and two kitties at home, all rescues. About half the time, I also volunteer to foster puppies that need homes, so I'm very experienced with dogs of all ages. Serving the Sterling area; I live across the street from Claude Moore park and love to explore the trails with four-legged friends. Summertime makes for the most gorgeous pictures, and I love capturing your fur babies on camera! I love all breeds, especially if they have good manners, but larger and more playful dogs will have the best time playing with my 3-year-old dog, Matcha. Caring for fur-babies is currently my full-time job, whether that's customers, fosters, or my own brood. I love all size dogs and cats! Most of the time, when I come into your home, your animals will let me know what their routine is! But specific instructions will help me out a lot too and are always appreciated.
“Katherine is incredibly sweet, kind, and dependable. She was able to meet my dog and take her for a walk on very short notice, which I greatly appreciated. She arrived on time, asked thoughtful questions about my dog’s care, and carefully followed all instructions. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the pets she works with. We are very happy to have her as our regular sitter and highly recommend her!”

About: I’m a teacher who is looking forward to working with pets! I have had my own dog for 10+ years and have taken care of other dogs as well! Neighbors, friends and families have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets! I am also an active dog sitter who lives near Algonkian Park! During the academic school year my availability is a little different, but my summer schedule is very flexible. I love spending time with my own dog and will take her out during various parts of the day if the weather allows. I firmly believe that pets are such important members of the family and giving them all the care and love is priority! When I care for pets, I make sure they are fed, taken outside on their daily walks and have some fun! When going on a walk, I make sure to carry a water, portable water bowl, bags and treats. I also check the temperature and make sure the heat index has not surpassed the recommended temperature for walking dogs. When feeding pets, I make sure to follow their feeding schedule and the amount recommended by their owner. I also check with the dog owner, if the pets have any allergies, medication or other health concerns. I ensure a safe, loving and welcoming space for each pet. My summer days are super flexible. I am also open to do super early walks, or late check-ins for dogs. My schedule during the day is open. I’m also available to housesit during the weekends. I try to update my calendar every two weeks. I treat any pet as my own pet. I ensure that they are comfortable, that they are fed, that they are also having fun and they feel safe. I know changes can sometimes cause pets to become anxious, and I want to ensure that while their human goes on trips, or is away, they are feeling like they are taken care of and feel safe!
“Dayana walked Cooper today for the first time and we were very happy! Cooper met her in advance and warmed to her instantly. She came on time to get him and gave him a nice long walk, he got a much better walk than he would have gotten had I been home so he was very happy 😃 We will absolutely be using her the next time we need a walk!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Countryside
Rasha is AMAZING. I have a nervous, reactive dog and 2 cats. She has done multiple meet and greets with my dog and has shown a great understanding of reactivity and behavioral principles. Rasha has been SO patient with Luna, and is so positive and gentle. I feel secure when Rasha takes Luna out, and that is a big deal. I am so grateful that I found Rasha!

Carleigh is reliable, caring, and truly exceptional with dogs. My dog absolutely adores her and gets so excited every time she arrives. It's clear that she genuinely loves animals and treats them as if they were her own. Knowing my dog is happy, safe, and well cared for gives me complete peace of mind. We feel incredibly lucky to have met Carleigh!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
