“This is an absolutely fantastic choice for a dog-sitter, in my mind. Leslie was loving, caring and she treated Frances, my terrier-dachshund with the closest and kindest attention—plenty of walks, balanced diet, happy human company to sleep with when she desired, and various places to rest—so Leslie passed those all those important measures.She also sent me photographs with comments fairly often, which delighted me and made me know that Frances was safe and happy! But then, of Great value was the fact that she always could find positive human companionship—her cousin came, and let Frances and another dog, sleep on his knee, looking utterly content, her roommate really liked Frances and showed it, and Leslie did too. AND there was always her dog, and then occasionally a neighbor’s dog or another client’s dog visiting for a number of hours. That was Heaven for Frances, and just what I was hoping for. A place where Frances could be, as Leslie put it, a member of a pack. NOT a large, in any way overwhelming pack, but a small pack, consisting of one or two or conceivably three other dogs, which she could be with. THAT and the essential human warmth which was very much present—was all I could dream of—and Leslie provided it. Thank you so, so much. I will definitely use her services again! Leslie is cause for peace of mind, great happiness and satisfaction for Frances and me.”

“I can't say enough good things about Karen! From the start she was so responsive and answered all my questions about her approach. I was really nervous as I was headed out of the country for over a week and my dog can be very finicky and shy in new places. She let me know how he was settling in with her and the other dogs she was watching, and gave updates and photos at least once a day. My dog often refuses to eat when stressed, but at Karen's he was happily eating his meals from the start, which for me was the biggest sign he was feeling good. He spent the rest of the trip snuggling next to her and bringing her toys so they could play. I love that she only takes small dogs and is very mindful of making sure they are all coexisting peacefully, including always separating each dog at meal time. I will definitely be using Karen again!”

“Ryder stayed with Valerie for 11 days and this was the longest period away from us, and only the second time we have boarded him. The first was in a traditional kennel, and it was not successful, as Ryder has some anxiety. Valerie's home was the perfect experience! She worked with him to feel at ease and treated him like one of her family! We were nervous too and Valerie went above an beyond by texting us and sharing pictures and videos to show us Ryder was doing well and having a great time with her dog and the others he met at her house. This was an outstanding boarding experience and we highly recommend Valerie to care for your fur babies!”
About: I've had a dog in my home my entire life, and am always the one my friends/family turn to if they need someone to look after their pets. I have also fostered multiple dogs with leash reactivity, and have had some 1-1 work with an R+ (positive reinforcement) trainer to ensure pups can have the best experience out and about in the world while still getting their sniffs and exercise in. I occasionally run outside so I can offer to run with your pup(s) 1-2 times a week if you'd like, and I live 5 minutes away from Baron Cameron park if you like for them to play with other pups during the day at a dog park as well. Or of course we can just snuggle most of the day while I work from home. Well either way there will be lots of snuggles and pets... My last dog passed away in 2025 after a year long battle with cancer, so I have no problem giving medicine and making sure we stay on a strict schedule with food/medicine if that is what your dog needs. I look forward to becoming your pup's new best friend! I work part-time from home. I'm available for day-sitting while you're at work or overnight boarding when you're out of town. I'm typically up by 7:30, have a fenced in backyard, go on walks/runs throughout the day and love going to the dog park if your pup enjoys it! I have a 6 foot fence in my backyard that your pup can play around in. Take 2-3 x 25 minute walks around the neighborhood throughout the day and can occasionally go for 30-60 minute jogs if your pup enjoys more exercise (1-2/week)

About: Throughout my life I've recognized, and it's been noted by many, that animals naturally love and trust me. I was raised in the country and grew up taking care of all kinds of creatures. I'm comfortable and experienced with dogs young and old. Your pet will be my #1 priority. I work from home and have a lot of free time throughout the day for lunchtime walks and hikes. If your dog is able to handle stairs, they can hang out with me in my office while I work. I'm an avid hiker and would love to take your dog on local adventures with me. Daily exercise is guaranteed. I'm a responsible adult and live alone in a single family home with a fenced back yard that has doggy door access during daylight hours. There's even a ramp for older dogs. The house has carpet runners over the wood and tile floors for those older pups who have trouble navigating slippery surfaces. Upstairs access can be limited for those dogs who have trouble with stairs. Being an experienced dog owner, I am always mindful of things they can get into.

About: I’m a teacher who is looking forward to working with pets! I have had my own dog for 10+ years and have taken care of other dogs as well! Neighbors, friends and families have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets! I am also an active dog sitter who lives near Algonkian Park! During the academic school year my availability is a little different, but my summer schedule is very flexible. I love spending time with my own dog and will take her out during various parts of the day if the weather allows. I am also open to do super early walks, or late check-ins for dogs. My schedule during the day is open. I’m also available to housesit during the weekends. I try to update my calendar every two weeks. I treat any pet as my own pet. I ensure that they are comfortable, that they are fed, that they are also having fun and they feel safe. I know changes can sometimes cause pets to become anxious, and I want to ensure that while their human goes on trips, or is away, they are feeling like they are taken care of and feel safe!

“Ryder stayed with Valerie for 11 days and this was the longest period away from us, and only the second time we have boarded him. The first was in a traditional kennel, and it was not successful, as Ryder has some anxiety. Valerie's home was the perfect experience! She worked with him to feel at ease and treated him like one of her family! We were nervous too and Valerie went above an beyond by texting us and sharing pictures and videos to show us Ryder was doing well and having a great time with her dog and the others he met at her house. This was an outstanding boarding experience and we highly recommend Valerie to care for your fur babies!”
About: I've had a dog in my home my entire life, and am always the one my friends/family turn to if they need someone to look after their pets. I have also fostered multiple dogs with leash reactivity, and have had some 1-1 work with an R+ (positive reinforcement) trainer to ensure pups can have the best experience out and about in the world while still getting their sniffs and exercise in. I occasionally run outside so I can offer to run with your pup(s) 1-2 times a week if you'd like, and I live 5 minutes away from Baron Cameron park if you like for them to play with other pups during the day at a dog park as well. Or of course we can just snuggle most of the day while I work from home. Well either way there will be lots of snuggles and pets... My last dog passed away in 2025 after a year long battle with cancer, so I have no problem giving medicine and making sure we stay on a strict schedule with food/medicine if that is what your dog needs. I look forward to becoming your pup's new best friend! I work part-time from home. I'm available for day-sitting while you're at work or overnight boarding when you're out of town. I'm typically up by 7:30, have a fenced in backyard, go on walks/runs throughout the day and love going to the dog park if your pup enjoys it! I have a 6 foot fence in my backyard that your pup can play around in. Take 2-3 x 25 minute walks around the neighborhood throughout the day and can occasionally go for 30-60 minute jogs if your pup enjoys more exercise (1-2/week)
“Sujan took great care of Darwin and gave updates throughout the day, with pictures included. Darwin is usually an anxious dog but befriended another dog who kept his anxiety at bay with constant play and companionship. Sujan is careful to make sure that the multiple dogs he boards are going to get along, and he is always monitoring them to ensure safe play. He made sure Darwin was happy, healthy, and engaged during the entire two weeks of boarding.”

They seemed to be prepared for just about anything and really knew how to deal with all different types of dog behavior. I loved that she sent me videos of Artie playing with the other dogs in her home. I saw he was being well taken care of and having a good time, which let me relax on my weekend away. ”

About: I am on a short career break while waiting for a clearance to come through to start my new job. Looking to fill my days with some furry friends while I wait! I have always been a dog lover and have lots of experience with doodles specifically but love all dogs. I have one pup (Lulu, 2 yr old 35lb mini Bernedoodle) that loves everyone and everything. Currently between jobs and at home most of the day! I am up and at it early during the week either on runs or at the gym. I have a small fenced in yard and live a few steps from 3 of the Reston trail entrances! I am very active and love to go on walks with my dog.
