“Alena is very personable, responsible and flexible. She came to walk Bentley while I was at work and did a great job! If I had to pick a prototype of an ideal pet sitter, it would be her.”
About: I was born into a house of at least a dozen dogs and cats not to mention the farm animals. I have never lived without animals and since 2022 I volunteered then worked at CHN until its physical location closed due to financial problems. During my time at CHN I have worked with dogs of all kinds, all sizes and all temperaments. The best feeling for me has been earning the trust of dogs who were labeled dangerous, a bite risk, and or otherwise untouchable. I take my dog for a walk after going pee in the morning and then if I’m home I spend as much of the day with her as possible. If I’m at school or somewhere that doesn’t allow dogs I make sure to give her something to chew on while I’m out and take her into the yard when I get back before cuddle time. This question largely depends on the pet and the environment… for instance, some of the shelter dogs would relax a considerable amount if I let them free roam with me while I did chores, whereas other dogs were too much of a flight risk or, were recovering from something and couldn’t free roam. In general I try to keep the stress level of whatever animal I’m working with as low as possible. If that means giving them their space and pretending they don’t exist, then that’s what I do if it means sitting on the floor and waiting an hour for them to curl up next to me so be it, if they need near constant petting and reassurance I am here. Speaking with people who interact with and know the animal the most is where I base most of how I interact with an animal beyond that I mostly read body language. Sometimes there are things I have to do, like give medication, that the animal does not appreciate but I try my best to make it as hassle free as possible, and apologize/make it up to them afterwards.

“We had a great experience with Elizabeth. She showed up exactly on time and took things slow when Charlie was a little nervous at first. Her calm, gentle approach helped him settle in quickly, and he ended up happily trotting along on their walk. Elizabeth clearly cares about dogs and knows how to make them comfortable—would absolutely book her again!”

About: I have experience with many breeds, all shapes, and sizes! I have volunteered at a local rescue as well as owning my own personal dogs. I have owned 2 blind and deaf Great Danes and a reactive German Shepherd mix. My current babies are a Great Dane and a Cockalier. I have experience with pets needing some extra maintenance, whether that's nail trims, baths, medicine, or any specific diet. Im not squirmy so whatever your pet needs, I can handle! I adopted my 2 deaf and blind Great Danes at 2 and 4, and adopted my German Shepherd mix at about 16 weeks old. My Great dane now is just a little over 1, and my Cockalier is turning 8. Not only do I have experience with dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds, behaviors, I also have experience in each phase of their lives. I don't discriminate! I understand some pups may need some extra time, care, love, and patience, and that's okay! I have the time to give it and make you feel at ease. I am currently working part time 3-4 days a week. I work evenings so I can tend to your pets in the mornings and afternoons. I am usually available during the weekends any time after 4 on Saturdays, and available all day on Sundays. I have a fenced in yard to let my fur babies outside. I let them do their thing while also supervising them, just to make sure they aren't getting into any trouble. I walk them both daily, for my Great Dane he uses a prong collar, as well as wearing his daily collar. So I have experience in usage of prong and martingale collars. My cockalier is a bit older so she doesn't need anything besides her, and her leash! I also make sure my animals receive the proper mental enrichment. Whether it is a snuffle mat, a kong stuffed with peanut butter, or a simple training session. Mental stimulation is just as important as physical.
“Destiny was great with Belle. She came to pick her up on time, communicated with me in details about her walk with Belle and Belle seems very pleased with her. Will definitely recommend.”

“She is reliable and always shows up on time. And Taresse even brought in my big heavy packages from the front step which was not expected at all but very appreciated!!”

“Denisse has been fantastic with our older dog! Very responsive and super accommodating. Our 50lb dog needs to be carried up/down the stairs and she handles that without issue and provides plenty of pictures, updates, and even gives our dog cookies.”

“Jen was absolutely fantastic! As someone who has dog sat before for others, she did everything that I hoped for and more as our dog walker! Her communication was excellent - she even went above and beyond to try other messaging methods since I was out of the country while my dog was staying with my boyfriend. She sent great videos and pictures, so I knew my dog was getting great care and attention :) I would highly recommend Jen’s services to anyone!”

“Amy was great with Max. Always on time and great communication when needed. I know max enjoyed those nice walks she would take him on. We appreciate you Amy. Thank you 🙏🏻 😊”

“Marco has been absolutely wonderful with our dog. He's very kind, and his level of communication is so appreciated. He goes the extra mile every day in his care for our dog on their daily walks. Really really grateful we found him for our pup!”

About: I have 15 years of professional pet-sitting experience in which I’ve walked and looked after the needs of pets for friends, neighbors, and clients while they were out of town. I am currently a part-time student and professional pet care allows me to to do what I love and to work on my own schedule. I can care for your pet in your home during the day or I look after your dog in my home with my sweet and playful dog to keep them company. Throughout the day I am able to balance the needs and wants of your pet to create a nurturing and fun schedule for them. I am attentive and flexible in my ability to dote on them. I create a routine or follow a set routine created by the pet’s owner for them in my care. This is regardless of whether or not I am caring for them in their home or in my home.
“Charles was absolutely excellent with Adam! Adam loved all his walks. Charles is totally reliable, cooperative pleasant and trustworthy. You can trust Charles when you go away on any vacation or trips. He did an amazing job and I will use him every time we go away from now on.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of almost every size and personality — from my mom’s tiny Yorkie to my own dog, whom I’ve raised from the puppy stage over the past four years. Friends and family regularly trust my partner and me with boarding their dogs, knowing they’ll be safe, loved, and treated like part of the family. For me, pet sitting isn’t just a service — it’s about building trust, keeping routines, and making sure every dog feels happy and comfortable while their humans are away. Your dog’s love and well-being are always my top priority. When I’m not caring for my own dog and two kittens, you can count on me to take care of your precious babies. I’m currently a stay-at-home pet mamma looking to make extra income. Our dog also loves to meet and greet new friends as she mostly gets excluded from her kitty sisters’ playtime. I have a large fenced in yard for your dog to run around with my 3.5 years old medium tuxedo dog named Poppy. Can also crate your dog if needed.
About: Just moved to Columbia! Having worked at a No-Kill, positive reinforcement Humane Society as their Executive Assistant for about 2 years, Ive had the pleasure of being able to engage with our animals daily! I learned so much throughout my experience that I’m happy to share. I happen to have a German Shepherd of my own. She’s my whole world. I’ve trained her since she was 6 months old, and she knows over 25 commands. I’ve taken care of animals of all ages, some needing/having specific routines with meds and meals. I love giving love, taking dogs to the park, or even just sitting with them next to me! In my home, my cat and dog roam freely! They are best friends. I adhere to your rules when it comes to your pet and will follow your routine. I work a 5-2 M-F job in Beltsville, and I live in Columbia. I can try and be flexible with hours depending on your location! I’d love to discuss your rules and wants during our Meet-and-Greets! My animals are spoiled with love - what can I say? Can’t wait to share the love!
About: I have taken care of various breeds throughout my whole life. I've grown up with dogs and been taught to train them at a young age. I find the best gift to give a dog is consistency. I live in a very nice pet-friendly community in Clarksville, MD. My community is designed with walkways and amenities to properly take care of pets and keep us safe during our walks. It is very pretty surroundings and keeps the dogs (as well as me) attentive and engaged while enjoying their walk. As a chiropractor, I have a flexible schedule on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-12 and 3-6, as well as Tuesday and Thursday from 3-6. This allows me the perfect opportunity to take care of your furry friends by letting them out and walking them during the day. As a dog walking app provider, I focus on caring for pets in the client's home by offering services such as regular dog walks, potty breaks, and playtime. I ensure that the pets are well-exercised, fed, and hydrated during my visits. I also provide updates to the pet owners, including photos and notes about how their furry friends are doing while in my care.
About: I've been dog sitting for my friends and family members for 8 years now! I have done drop-in visits, walks, and house sitting for both short and long-term. I am available to complete any menial household chores or light tidying up. I am available after 4 pm for short or long walks, feedings, and medication administration. On the weekends, I am generally more available for longer timeframes! I live in a rambler style house with my parents so there are no excessive stairs. I have a large backyard (not fenced) and am a 5 minute drive from a park. I do not have any pets of my own. Please let me know if there is a specific activity your dog enjoys most!
