About: Cats and dogs have been part of my everyday life since childhood. Today my wife and I share our home with two cats and two dogs — so your pet is joining a household that already speaks their language. I've cared for family members' and friends' animals through house sitting, in-home drop-ins, feeding, walks, and play — at my place and at theirs. Laid-back, attentive, and genuinely passionate about animals. Pet care is my full-time focus right now. While I take cybersecurity courses and work toward a new career in tech, my days are built around home — which means your pet gets consistent, attentive care every single day of the week. I am available for both daycare and boarding seven days a week with no gaps in availability. A typical day looks like this: Meals Three feeding periods — morning, midday, and evening — keep pets on a consistent routine throughout the day. Walks Dogs go out 6 to 7 times a day, roughly every 3 hours, so there are no long stretches of waiting — they stay active and comfortable all day long. Cat play Cats enjoy one to two dedicated play sessions each day to keep them stimulated and engaged. My home is a pet-friendly, well-organized space designed with animal comfort and safety in mind. Here's what you can expect: Resident dogs Two friendly small dogs — a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua — live in the home and are great companions for visiting dogs. They've spent time at doggy daycare themselves and are comfortable and experienced around other dogs, which helps guests settle in faster. Cats in the home There are cats in the household. Baby gates are in place throughout the home to create separated zones as needed, keeping cats and dogs comfortable and giving everyone their own space to decompress. Yard & outdoor time My yard is not fenced, so all outdoor time is leashed. With 6 to 7 walks a day, dogs get more than enough fresh air and exercise — and they're never left unattended outside. Crating A small dog crate is available if a pet is crate-trained or needs a quiet retreat. I'm also happy to use a crate provided by the owner if your dog is more comfortable in their own space.
“Sophia was fantastic! She has a soothing and calm presence that put both Nuka and I at ease. Care instructions were followed faithfully and I can tell my doggo had a great time. I highly recommend Sophia and hope to book Nuka with her again next time we travel.”

“This is our second week with Alissa and she had made us and our Milo super comfortable and has made this experience super easy for us. Alissa thank you for your attention with Milo and your feedback on each walk!”

“Stellar communication and super adaptable to my changing plans. I appreciated his focus on safety for my pup by initiating a meet and greet and being contentious of the heat index with my senior dog’s capabilities.”

“Elizabeth did a fantastic job with our dog Dipper. She came for a meet and greet and was very thoughtful in asking all the right questions to know how to best care for him. He absolutely adored her. Highly recommend!”

“Marco has been absolutely wonderful with our dog. He's very kind, and his level of communication is so appreciated. He goes the extra mile every day in his care for our dog on their daily walks. Really really grateful we found him for our pup!”

“Ashley walked our dog twice while we went on an overnight trip. She gave our dog medications at mealtime and sent a summary and pictures after each walk. It’s clear she loves animals and would be a great choice to take care of yours.”

About: I love dogs and they seem to love me...cats, too! I am currently looking for pet sitting clients, in my home or the client's home. I live on a peaceful, private and safe property, bordered by the woods and a lake in Brookeville. I have cared for my own pets for most of my life and have also worked as a dog walker and dog hander at a dog daycare center. I have also fostered and rescued dogs and cats. I have an extensive background in unrelated fields, such as music, graphics/video, real estate, property management and working as a home healthcare aide. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Best ~ Mark I can always put my pet clients and visitors first. Outside of working with animals, I work on music, home renovations, read, etc. My home is a large garage that I converted into a guest house with a recording studio. The house where I have pet guests is a private home near the woods. I have over 2 acres where I can walk dogs, plus 80 acres of woods behind the house for hikes. I have security cameras at the property. There is only one neighbor nearby and it is a very quiet and peaceful area. I am completely trustworthy as far as caring for client's pets. I have worked as a guitar teacher and pet handler, various other jobs that required background checks.

About: To this day I am shocked by and grateful for how much love and joy our pets, Ovie and Ashe, bring into our home. I know that being away from them is never easy, so it is my goal to provide your pet with the care and adventure they expect, and to provide you with the peace of mind you deserve. I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I am available for boarding throughout the week and look forward to excuse for some more time outdoors. I have a nice yard on a quiet street. While our yard is unfenced, your fur-friend will never be unsupervised. Inside our home we have two friendly dogs to keep yours entertained. We love being outside and have nearby walking paths and trails accessible for tons of sights, sounds, and smells!
“Julia, I want to thank you for stepping up and helping us when another walker had a family emergency starting the first day of the booking. Moxie enjoyed your company and attention and I was able to complete a business transaction without the distraction of worrying about Moxies's welfare. Good Job!”

“Naedra helped us out last minute. She was super easy to communicate with. She took great care of our puppy, taking him on two walks each day. She sent pictures and filled us in on everything. We really appreciated her helping us and will definitely use her again!”

About: I have been caring for my own pets for 10+ years and could like to get into formal care. I have also pet sat for my friends and family in the past. As of now I am available daily for pet sitting or walking. I don’t mind waking up early. Would prefer not to be out too late alone. I like to hang out with my dog and take him for walks. He’s pretty lazy though so we just sit together a lot of the time. I will follow any instructions you leave.

“Gianna started walking my dog weekly about a month ago. I went back and forth as to whether or not I wanted to hire someone given my dog’s reactivity on walks. I could not be happier with our choice to have Gianna!! She is responsible, communicative, patient and kind. My dog is noticeably happier when I get home, and it feels like a huge weight is off our shoulders to know he is being cared for by someone who cares for and loves him like I do. I can’t recommend her enough!!”

About: My family and I have always had cats and dogs growing up. Our pets are family! As a mom to 2 young kids, I am unable to put the time and care into a doggie of my own … so I need YOURS to love up on! I am a preschool teacher and off for the summer so I am available and flexible! Other than dropping/picking up my kids from camp, I’m free! I have a fantastic path right behind my house that I always walked / would walk my dogs, if your baby stays with me. I am also happy to visit your pup(s) at their home and have them show me around their neighborhood! Anything to make your doggo happy, is what I want :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
