“Julia is amazing!! She is quick to respond and takes the most adorable pictures!! I also love the notes she leaves with each drop in. I would HIGHLY recommend her!! My dog absolutely loves her.”

“Kelly kittysits our orange cat Tango. She can be counted on to drop by on the days that are arranged, and gives lots of love, brushing, and attention to our cat. We really appreciate Kelly and trust her to do a great job watching Tango.”

“Anna has been extremely helpful as we navigate having a new puppy in our home. She gives our pup lots of attention and makes sure he gets several chances to go potty before she departs. She has been very flexible on the schedule and we are so happy to have her help! Our pup is so lucky to have her!”

“Tristan did a great job taking care of Lucy! As a cat with IBD, she needs someone to pay careful attention and care and Tristan did just that. I was nervous to leave her but was glad Tristan was the one taking care of her- he was in constant communication about how she was doing and always included lots of pictures and a video. He has no issues administering medicine, either via pill pocket or ear ointment. We would definitely consider Tristan again to take care of Lucy!”

“Delany is responsible, attentive, and communicative. She cared for our two cats for an entire week, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. She was also patient and thoughtful when an urgent issue came up and we couldn’t be reached right away. We truly appreciate her and would absolutely recommend her.”

“Elizabeth was wonderful! We did 3 drop in visits and each one was done in a timely manner with all the focus on the kitties. Communication was a breeze and our cats were very comfortable the whole time!”

“Maddie was absolutely wonderful! She sent thorough and detailed messages and photos after every drop in visit. Our dogs loved and trusted her immediately. She made our weekend away so much more relaxing because we knew our dogs were being taken such good care of. 100% recommend!”

About: For a few years, I kept exotic pets like fish and isopods. I've also volunteered at the Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and have spent time looking after the cats and dogs of my friends. I love taking care of animals when I’m not too busy with schoolwork. As someone who used to be an athlete, I really enjoy getting my exercise in, and love working with high energy animals. I also love spending time with more relaxed and laidback animals as a way to unwind. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priority. I'm ready to do anything to keep them happy and healthy. I look forward to meeting the emotional, behavioral, and physical needs of your pet.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 12 years old. I currently have 3 golden doodles, ranging from 65-110lbs and one is handicap. I have had dogs my whole life, I love all animals. I have experience pet sitting cats as well. I have a full time job being a financial analyst, looking for some extra money. I currently work remotely, so I am very flexible with my time. I am able to drop in as needed. On weekends I am fully available for pet sitting as well. I have an electric fence for my dogs. However, one tends to not obey the fence, so he’s let out on a very long line connected to the yard so he can’t roam. I also take him for walks/runs a lot more often than the others. I do walk all 3 of my dogs at a time without any issues.
“Jasmine was awesome with our cat! Cookie is a ninja at avoiding her pills, and Jasmine was able to thwart her attempts and give her her inhaler, and was overall great with her. I definitely recommend her, and am happy she’ll be watching Cookie again in a few weeks.”

“Jodi was exceptional and took wonderful care of our two senior kitties while we were away. She asked thoughtful questions, was alwayd qucick to respond, and just the easiest person to get along with! We look forward to booking her for future cat sittings. :)”

“Christina was wonderful and so understanding of all the craziness she walked into with our dog. Very communicative and we loved to see our dog visibly happy in every photo we received!”

“Randi is such an amazing cat sitter. She took such good care of our baby while we were away, communicated throughout, sent great updates and photos, and was overall perfect in all respects. Highly recommend!”

“Angela was the BEST! Our two kittens loved her so much and warmed up to her so quickly. During the initial meetup she was so attentive and friendly and we felt really relieved leaving our cats in her hands. She sent so many awesome photos and videos of her and the kittens while we were away and we could tell how much they were at ease with her. Would definitely recommend Angela as a pet sitter to anyone.”

“Paula took great care of my cat and made sure all responsibilities were handled perfectly. Our family also enjoyed her picture updates everyday while we were away. She is super reliable and I'd definitely book her again!”

“Alex did a great job with my three cats. She even got my former feral to come out for meals & she was able to get him inside at night - which is an accomplishment! She was very communicative & provided great pics & notes. Highly recommend!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
